I reached out to CSLS to get study materials for my A General Engineering license exam with the CSLB, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Jerry Woods handled my account and went above and beyond. It was late on a Friday, but he still made sure the IT team set up my access so I could start studying over the weekend. That kind of dedication really impressed me! Once I logged in, I found hundreds (probably close to a thousand) of detailed practice questions, clearly written by experienced professionals. I signed up for the contracting exam prep. The material was sent overnight, and I had access to online practice exams and two weekly online seminars. I have to admit that the information is dry; however, the instructors share details that are good for the test and good for business. The three-hour exam took me 30 minutes after I studied for it and sat through their seminar. I'm considering sending my team to get their training via CSLS. read more

Doing the next logical step is not always so easy. especially when you feel overwhelmed. That was very much the case for myself. I was feeling very overwhelmed with life and now trying to take the next logical step in my career. I signed up to take the course on one of those days I was feeling very motivated. But then reality kicked in and I was not applying myself whatsoever. I then decided to just go to the concord location and ask for help. Thankfully when I did so, I ran into Jerry! This School has gone down hill. I've taking the contractor lic. course in the past with great success . I wanted to add on to my lic. so I sighed up again. To my disbelief this school will not return my calls will not respond to emails. My counselor Hector can't figure out how to operate his phone or CSLS isn't capable of fixing it for him. When you call him it just starts playing music with no voice mail or answer of phone. I tried going though the counselor I had years ago. Elodia she was fantastic. I finally reach out to her she said, email application over for approval. I did never heard back followed up with emails and phone calls. No luck! this Contractor lic. school is basically a scam at this point. You sigh up they take your money and disappear. enroll at your own risk. read more

Less than stellar. They offer a lot and fail to deliver. Paid for assistance with my C7, which the law portion was ok although it is not up-to-date with numerous department names etc. The trade and math crams I was told, during the law cram, would not include anything for my license class. This was after I had paid for the class and taken all the law classes. After speaking to customer service and a few other people who would often tell me "how would I know I didnt attend the two cram days" even after I had explained the instructor told me neither would include anything to do with my license test. The last phone call was just as unproductive so I have come to writing this review. I have to say it was the worst $1200 I spent in a long time. read more

Very poorly managed school. Here's a few issues I've had with them: 1. I paid $300 for the C5 Home Study Kit, along with Law and Business. There are grammatical errors throughout their Home Study Guide and practice exam questions, which makes it very hard to absorb the material. Many practice exam questions are not even addressed in the material... Hmmmm. 2. They do not offer hard copies of the practice exam questions... or the ability the print practice exam questions... So they expect contractors to sit in front of a computer all day?? Not practical or accommodating at all. 3. Regardless, I decided to pay over $100 for the online practice exams. I have two weeks left before my exam with the state, so I decided to take that time off from work. Their server was down all day. When I called back around noon they said the system had been down since 9am, that their techs are aware and working on it. She said she would call me back to notify when up and running. I happen to check at 4:30pm and was able to log on for an hour. Never received a call. Waste of my time. 4. If you are aware the system is down, why would you sell anyone "access" to the system? Seems like a bunch of phonies trying to front their name as if they are associated with the state, but they are not, no school is, and I cannot recommend this school if you are trying to get licensed. read more

Spoke with Doug and informed him on what license I would like to obtain. Throughout the conversation he used scare tactics to persuade me to sign up that instance. I fell for his pitch and gave him my CC information over the phone. After thinking about the whole incident, I decided to cancel the very next day. Doug again tried to use more scare tactics to persuade me from cancelling and then mentioned other options after the fact. He did not have a desire to help me receive a refund and just told me to send an e-mail request to corporate. Just today they charged my account again after I already mentioned I was not interested in their useless program. read more
