Hey Everyone!!!! OMG…read more- so today I had to re-exam to renew my CNA license. Which was a bummer, because I did not know how to obtain the correct CEU's. I was so nervous, because I haven't took this state exam in 2 years, and I did not know if it was going to be with others, a large size class or anything... just going in blind. I remember when I had took my exam 2 years ago for the first time, I was with my classmates. However, I got here very early. I was the first to arrive. Later, I was greeted and welcomed by a beautiful nice woman name Mrs. Drusilla. She opened up at Vasco Career College, and she then opened the for for me and told me to come inside to have a seat. I was so nervous you guys, and she was very nice it sort of soothed my demeanor. I then checked in with her to begin my written exam first, I explained to her how nervous I was and this was for my renewal. She literally turned to me and looked in my eyes, and stated, " you will be fine ". I honestly felt like this was a sign from god. I then took my exam, in a very quiet room, she went over everything for me in full detail. The rooms were spacious, clean and organized. After, it was time to take my skills exam. Again, y'all, very nervous and I sat in another room, (room C ), while another student finished their skills exams. Once, this student was close to finished, I was asked to be the patient for them. I was introduced to my Proctor, she was so sweet and pleasant. Her name was Mrs. Bella, she reminded me of a sweet family member you just hug when you see them. After, I helped the other student, it was my turn, my pulse was going a 1000x per sec. She told me to calm down, again, nice and pleasant. I finished and felt so good about my outcome with taking both my exams here just due to their personalities and how nice they were. This helped me in ways they will never know I needed, just them being kind. I have not received my results yet, or do not know if I passed, but I wanted to share with everyone a great place to come take you exams and also.... * As I was leaving, Mrs. Drusilla heard me state I was renewing my CNA license and she informed me on next time, what to do in order to receive my continuing education credits, to qualify for approval from California Department of Health. THEY HAVE A WEBSITE, www.cnabase.com ONLINE, and they offer the in person CEU's in person at their school. You guys I could have cried right there. Renewing my license was the hardest thing ever for me, and I felt like it should have not been. I asked everyone and no one could give me the correct information on where to go or how to obtain your continuing education credits. So, I want to share with everyone so they do not go through what I went through, the panic, stress, and anxiety on having to take the state exam over.... you can take these CEU's with them!!! DON'T WALK, RUN TO THEIR CAMPUS.. THEY OFFER SEVERAL OTHER CLASSES AS WELL, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

After graduating from the program, I was assigned to a clinic for my externship and my instructor also have been keeping in touch with me while I was in my externship. Located on a 33-acre campus directly in between 3rd St and Mission Ave in the heart of central San Rafael, this high school was founded back in 1888. However, the current campus has been in place since 1924. From a geographical standpoint, I would have to say this high school is in the heart of Marin County with thousands of students that graduated while moving onto successful career paths. My personal journey at San Rafael High began in 1991 where I took a variety of required college preparatory classes that included English, US/World History, Geography, Mathematics, Foreign Language (Spanish/French), Government, Science, and Physical Education. I also took other various classes that included Home Economics (which covered cooking, money, & life skills), Woodshop, and during my tenure at the school, I was also part of a 10-watt non-profit radio station known as KSRH. All of these classes helped pave the way through a variety of unique courses to further advance my career development into college and beyond. As for the campus itself, it is quite large as the main focal point is the iconic administration building featuring grand columns that have a timeless and grandeur look to it. This is where assemblies, plays, and other various school events are showcased. There are several other standalone buildings that feature a large cafeteria, a dedicated drama/art area, and hallways with general studies. The rear part of the campus boasts a large track with football field, outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, soccer field, and baseball fields. And for those "potheads", this was where the term '420' began back in the early 1970's. Also, if you watch the 1984 music video "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger, the majority of this video was filmed on campus. I will say that during my tenure at this high school, the entire curriculum was absolutely memorable and excellent. I was one that truly and genuinely enjoyed going to school since it was a wealth of information that I retained over the past few decades. All of my teachers were wonderful and helped me guide myself on the path to success. Furthermore, San Rafael High was the one high school where it was culturally diverse; not just with the students but also the teachers that come very all walks of life. During this stretch of my life, I got to meet a lot of amazing people whom I became close friends with and are still friends with to the present day. With that said, I am giving "San Rafael High School" a unanimous five-star rating.

Jonathan broke down the steps of steaming the milk and pouring latte art and then we all got to practice on our own using a really fancy La Marzocco espresso machine that steamed the milk in seconds! Jonathan also provided troubleshooting tips for what to do if the milk doesn't turn out quite right, which I found helpful. The class was small enough to get a ton of practice and hands on guidance and feedback. I highly recommend this class if you're looking to learn or improve your latte art!

I had the conviction that we were relatively well equipped to identify and interact with the world "out there" - which included the popular and politically correct relativism, cultural sensitivity, and the notion of personal view points. Today that looks a little comical - in a good natured sort of a way. Yes, the training of NLP Marin offers tools, communication and interpersonal skills, and powerful frameworks that help us make sense of the world in very different ways. They are totally worth the price of admission and you are getting a great deal. They don't not even begin to describe the value of the training. The best way I can describe it, so much of the value is about a quality of personal presence: intense curiosity, openness (as in suspending judgement), vulnerability (as in being willing to learn, be wrong, and safe enough in myself to expose myself...), and courage to do something - anything - when the time has come. Now, I have a deep appreciation for the interesting problems - the once you can't solve by paying for better expertise - where the solution is contained in the way we look at the problem. The solution is in our face but we don't see it. It is out of this personal presence that new questions arise. These questions shed new light on how we make meaning of our experience, what we are feeling, hidden assumptions in our thinking, and all the noise we are creating in an effort to stay safe - in a dance we put on together with everybody else. Priceless!!! Yes, I finished the program and got my EMT certificate, but I was not very satisfied with the learning experience. I went into the course because I actually wanted to understand the material and build a strong foundation, not just pass the exams and get certified. A lot of the time, I felt like I was teaching myself. The program is obviously accelerated, but the bigger problem for me was the lack of structure. The first half of the day was usually lecture and the second half was skills, but we would sometimes finish an hour or more early and just be told to work on homework. I would have much rather used that time to review difficult topics, practice scenarios, or ask questions. Our main instructor was newer, and you could tell at times. The lectures were not very helpful for me, and most of my actual learning came from studying independently using the materials they gave us and other resources. Some of their study materials were useful, but practice exams were often released only the night before or a couple nights before an exam. That made it hard to use them to actually learn the material instead of just figuring out what was likely to be tested. We were also required to buy a workbook that cost around $100 and complete assignments from it, but the work was mostly just signed off without being seriously reviewed. That made it feel like expensive busywork. There were also some things that made the class feel less professional than I expected, including entertainment clips or movies being played during downtime while people were trying to study. I eventually brought some of my concerns to management. To their credit, they were receptive, and I did notice more effort and organization toward the end of the program. The skills instructors were probably the strongest part of the course. They were helpful and did a much better job preparing us for practical testing and patient assessments. So overall, if you just want an accelerated route to certification and you are good at studying on your own, this program may work for you. But if you are choosing an EMT program because you really want to learn the material and feel confident in what you are being taught, I would personally look into a longer program or compare other schools first. I got the certificate, but if I were choosing again based purely on the quality of the education, I would probably go a different route.

Today im 4 months in on a 6 month course. We have done so much safety and precautions in order to make sure all students are safe. We have wired so many labs. I feel we have done so many labs that i feel comfortable take charge and leading my team in some labs. This school does more than just teach you about electrical but to have to get a job. How to create a resume. And how to be more confident. I was in my shell when i first joined but today I feel comfortable speaking in front of the class to show how if wire something in. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.
