I took this class during the pandemic and got sick as did my family. I asked for more time to access my tests and materials and was told someone would get back to me and they never did. The material comes with DVDs, it's 2022 and they don't have a streamable or downloadable version so that's something you really can't use and the person who does the law classes speaks in a tone that will put anyone to sleep. If the customer service was better and they updated the technology it would be a good program but I can't give more than 1 star. read more

UPDATE!!! - 3rd review Mr Santana just called me back minutes from my 2nd post. He promised a couple of things and i said i shall be reviving a something in the mail within 5 days! I will keep you updated as soon as i receive this to confirm his resolution and make you all aware of the conclusion of this matter. I hope i obtain this document before the 5 days to update this review and see the positive side of this location! will update soon!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . update!! - 2nd review minutes after my post here on yelp i had mr santa contact me and he went over my case from the start. he had no idea of what the problem was and had me explain it all over again. (those several days he took to look into the matter weren't very useful i see) he went on to say he will try to upkeep the school's reputation and will look into refunding me only - - - - - - - $300 - - - - - - - out of over $800 i payed for adrian gonzales mistake. he claims there were cost involved to have me attend a math review class that pretty much reminds you how to add subtract and divide. (ridiculous) and other evening classes that don't cover anything off hand they just review book work what you should have worked during the week. he also claimed the book (not books) one 3 ring binder with paper copies of the original/master book was very expensive to make and it will also cut in into that balance. i told him the book was in perfect condition! no papers where written on nor destroyed. the dvd's that come in that book, which is a general c-36 (that any other student can use) where in their original casing and had not 1 scratch in them. all he said was; "nah, those are your books!" i told him i would not settle for $300 for such a horrible customer experience and poor schooling.! (read other reviews about this place! other students say its horrible schooling as well) he than began to mention how they can uphold the contract i singed and not offer me anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a contract i singed in hopes of a better financial future and self employment freedom. a contract i was tricked into signing by their sales rep who i'm sure enjoyed his commission very much!!!! he wants me to forfeit over $500 over a copy binder and poor schooling. i did not agree. i told hm i would settle for $700 for their mistake and not a cent less! and i wont!! it is unacceptable! adrian gonzales should pay those used up fee's for not doing his job the right, honest, and honorable way!!! mr. santana will call me today at 5pm pacific (so he said). he will look into trying to get those $700 approved and will give me a call back as a result. i hope he honestly tries his best cause i wont settle for less and only than can i and all my yelp readers see the customer satisfaction they have and how they can act accordingly to a mistake of one of their own and make it right! the honest way!! don't be money hungry and have it stain your reputation!! will keep you updated soon! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mr.Santa had me email him a detailed message regarding my situation, where of course, i asked for a refund. He has been ignoring me since his first reply about 2 weeks ago from today. I signed up for classes at this location to better prepare myself for the contractors state license test. I wanted to get my "B" license to become a general contractor. This school was really helpful in helping me obtain my goal as I am now a licensed contractor. I would highly recommend taking classes here and make sure you take classes with Noel. He is a teacher at this school and also a contractor that has been in this industry for a long time. It took me awhile to actually want to write a review, usually not my thing, but when i saw the comments regarding CSLS i was pretty appalled. I personally had a great experience with this school. They told me from the get-go that ultimately the State Board had the final decision if I qualified or not. I have been in my field for 15 plus years and although I had to provide some additional proof to the State Board regarding my experience I had no problem as long as it got me to get my license. CSLS assisted me with any questions or concerns I had and for me I had great customer service. I also liked that they have different program for different needs, that was a plus for me. If you want to get your contractors liscense, CSLS in West Covina is the school to go to. Not only do they completely prepare you for your state exams but they teach you how to start your business and run it correctly .The professional staff will guide you step by step through this process. My initial meeting with Adrian was quite impressive, Jasmine in the office handled all of my paperwork very well, and Noel the instructor is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He completely prepared me and took time out of his own schedule to help me. I was the first person done in the exam and I'm a terrible test taker. I was confident and prepared. I want to comment about the bad experience I had in this school. I enroll in this school because Adrian Gonzalez promised me to help me in all the process from the beginning to the end and he didn't. Before I enrolled at the school he called me many times to my cell phone telling me to enroll. BE AWARE TALKING TO ADRIAN GONZALEZ!!!! HE'S A CHEATER!!!!! WHEN I TALKED TO ADRIAN HE WAS SO RUDE!!!!! When I called him to ask something about the course, he never answer the phone to me, I ask him: Why you don't answer my calls? And he told me: YOU THINK I'M HERE TO ANSWER YOUR CALLS????? First he was nice only because he want me to enroll, and when I enrolled, he changed and he did not help me in anything. He did not finish with my process, he did not give me the online pass, the 2 crash courses and did not fill my application. He only gave me a cheap book and 2 cd's, I paid $695.- IT'S TOO MUCH. DON'T GO TO THIS POOR SCHOOL AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!! I email to Mr. Santana a month ago to get my money back and he said he will try to resolve this case and refund me all my money. After submitting my application for General B license and being told by CSLB that it would take 3-4 months to get the exam scheduled, I thought I had plenty of time to study. What occurred was I received the notice to appear for examination letter with only 10 days to prepare. I immediately began researching potential "crash course" prep schools and decided to go with CSLS. This decision was based on their location and available dates. I received the material in three days. A 3" binder with law and trade information and lots of practice exam questions. Took off the week to study. Went to the Covina office a couple of days since it was a great study environment (even the freeway noise and vibration actually provided white noise to help concentrate). Robert was very helpful and tells it as it is. His suggestion to study their practice exams in the red, yellow and blue notebooks was spot on correct. I think these questions were very typical of the actual exam if not a little more difficult. Emphasis is on learning the material and not memorizing the questions. I also went to the Orange office 2 days prior to the exam for the all day crash lecture on law. Jerry did a great job at conveying what is important. Would hope others attending could learn that this class is for everyone to learn the information that is on the exam. Specific questions regarding your personal situation have no place here. I noticed that many attendees have been studying for 3-4 months. Surprisingly they still had some very basic questions. No fault of the school (CSLS) as this is a red flag and these people should seek another career or stay laborers. I took the exam and passed both law and trade. I would not have been able to do this without utilizing the study materials. Don't expect to pass just because you took the course. You still have to study and learn the material. CSLS material was up to date approx. 95% of time. Don't bet on the guarantee program of pass or we pay for your next attempt. You will take a pretest at the one day crash course and then after the lecture take a post test. You must get 85% on this 30 question exam and fail the state law exam for the guarantee to kick in. The post test is much more difficult than the pre test and the state exam. I bet they have rarely had to honor the guarantee. At the time I paid $390 and had them include a dvd. The audio cd follows some pages (overheads) in the binder and was helpful. The DVD was average to below average and some info was outdated. Overall: I would recommend CSLS to anyone looking to obtain their contractors license and does not have time or experience to invest in self instruction. read more
