The front desk peeps are very kind, patient and always willing to help with and through out the process. The instructor Ms. Pearl is very knowledgeable,compassionate and patient, taking the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable with hands-on tasks like vital signs and patient transfers. He truly is exemplary and the benchmark for all future phlebotomist and RNs. He has first hand experience with phlebotomy and gives all his knowledge to the students. My experience at RCI was a unique combination of challenging and rewarding. I recently completed the MLT program and was board certified shortly afterwards. Without a doubt, this was one of the most challenging experiences for me in academia, and I have an advanced degree in Biology. So, whatever you do, do not take this program lightly. The material covered is very comprehensive, with certain aspects mirroring year one of medical school. Given the duration of the program, there will unquestionably be times when you're overcome by the sheer volume of material covered in such a short time frame. Whatever you do, **don't get discouraged.** Stay the course. Rest assured, the staff at RCI are there to support you as best as they can. This location offered weekend classes with the exception of Fridays. So not to confuse you, but classes were Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:30am-5:30pm. However it benefited me and my work schedule for a total of three weekends. Classes were thorough and the instructor Louie is exceptional! Knows his stuff! He really prepares you for the exams on material (total of 7) and NHA exam! Also try to get the practice exams for NHA, helps to know how they ask questions. In addition, the staff is great they are helpful, friendly and encouraging. Got licensed with in a month following Externship (which they place for you). Regan Career Institute is the best! I was recommended by a friend to try out their Phlebotomy program. She told me many great things about it, so I decided to give it a shot . I was very nervous when I started since it was a 6 day course, but everyone there wants you to succeed. The staff were very supportive & helpful. As for instructor Louie, he was the best instructor I've ever had. Louie was super engaging during his lectures, you'll never have a day falling asleep in that class! Also got to our punctures right away, very exciting! Instructors were encouraging and gave helpful constructive feedback. I was able to successfully complete their program, start my externship , & gain my licensure in little as 1-2 months. I can't recommend RCI enough. I had no background in the medical field, but I wanted to start a second career, so I took a gamble and enrolled in the phlebotomy program at this school based on all of the positive reviews here. Naturally, I was very anxious and nervous about the whole program because I never had experience with needles and the course was fast-paced. In fact, I messaged 20 of the yelp reviewers here who left a positive review to ask them about their experience, but received zero response lol. Oh well, so I just walked in with zero expectations and spoke with the staff to sign up and they immediately put my doubts at ease. Rica, Raphael and the rest of the staff were super supportive and very informative about the entire process. Even though, it took me over 8 months to finish the program, Raphael and Rica were right there by my side to steer me in the right direction. Rica even took time out of her normal schedule to help me practice with clinical before my externship. I am very thankful for that.The only thing that you have to bring is your dedication to finish and commitment to study, especially because the program is only two weekends. There were some reviewers on here who did not enjoy Louie's teaching methods, but I thought his energy, and no nonsense teaching demeanor was perfect because as a potential medical worker, you are dealing with life and death when it comes to patients. I don't want an instructor to sugar coat things and tell me life is going to be okay. Louie does push you and challenges you, especially during clinical, so make sure to have a thick skin. He only wants you to improve your technique and not make mistakes that can put you or most importantly, the patient at harm. His tough love methods will be truly worth it when you finish the program and begin your externships because you will deal with many difficult patients at the hospital. I just finished my Phlebotomy CPT1 course and received my Certification of Completion. I Started my classes the beginning of September 2021, took the NHA exam and passed. Since COVID some of the externship (clinical) has been delayed. I took what was available anywhere and I was able to pick something up much quicker. I have completed my externship and now just waiting for the state website to be fixed so I can work on getting my CA State certification so I can start applying. My instructor was Louie and he makes the class very understandable. You have to put in the work as well as it is a very compressed course. Read the book before the classes starts and 75% of what is taught will be much easier to understand. The hands on technique's that are taught in class definitionally helped out when getting out to the externship site. read more

I took and completed the phlebotomy course here at RCI. I chose this program because it was quick and provided what I thought I would need. I am happy with what I was given. I was able to complete everything in 3 weeks. This included the coursework, the national exam, and the externship. It was a lot all at once, but it feels great to be done. RCI is very thorough with everything they do. From the beginning when signing up to the end when you complete the coursework and the externship. The staff walks you through everything and provides all the resources one would need to be successful. Given that the program is accelerated, the cost is very reasonable and you do not have to pay out of pocket for anything else. Within that cost, you get your textbook, scrubs, national exam fee covered, a parking pass, supplies used in class and the course materials. Again, this program is super fast paced, and because of that things move quickly. We were already practicing drawing blood from each other on the first day (supervised of course and with the help of a professional physically guiding us). We would have lectures and at the end of class each day, we were given a quiz. The quizzes were pretty similar to the questions that would appear on the national exam. Overall, the structure of the program was excellent, well explained, and thorough and I appreciated that. The one thing I wish I was given is a chance to have more time to work with the venipuncture materials. Nonetheless, once I got to my externship site (a hospital in the area), I was able to get more hands on experience using the tools. If you are considering a phlebotomy program, RCI is a great place. read more

Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quick phlebotomy course!! I'm a March 2024 class that I was able to finish the course and my clinical training within a month. Submitted everything and waited another 2 weeks for my CPT license. Everything is transparent, no hidden fees. She is the best instructor, she is very caring, compassionate, and a whole bunch more. I did the Phlebotomy program here which is only 2 weekends. It costed me about $1795 which came with the national exam, uniform, externship, and lab coat. You can see the prices and everything online which I really like cause they are transparent about what you get and pay for. Most Phlebotomy school will hide their prices and will try to up sale (that has happened to me a couple of time) so I really appreciate that they keep everything visible. So here is my experience with the Phlebotomy program: The Phlebotomy program is a 6 day 2x (Fri-Sun) for 8 hours each. So if you want to get your license quickly this is the place. The instructor Luis was really great and he really teaches you what you need to actually know. He doesn't just read off the book and give you bullshit. He gonna let you know what it's truly like as a phlebotomist . I like the fact that he stays energetic which help makes the 8 hours pass by quickly. The material is a bit heavy if you don't have any science background but it's doable. Just know it is a 6 day program so the material comes at you quick. Don't worry cause again Luis is a hella great instructor. Just know that you will be given a exam every day so stay on top of things. They give redo on some of the exams so if you do bad, you have a second chance so that takes away some pressure off. For the practical, we practice on each other on the first day which I appreciate cause them fakes arms don't really compare to actually arms. You get to try one person each day (6 times total) but you get to watch other people attempts so you can also watch and learn too. I heard at some other schools, they give you old tubes so the suction is gone so you can't tell if you got the draw or not. The school always gave out new tubes so we knew if we did the draw correctly or not. The practical instructor Reina was really nice and she gave pointers which helped alot during my externship. The externship is very slow to get (I had to find one of my own cause it was taking too long) BUT in all fairness this is during Covid so it is understandable why the process of getting one was taking so long (a month or two according to some of my classmates). The administration team Raphael and Mr. Lee are very helpful and they answer your questions very quickly. I really did like the school and I recommend it to anyone tbh. It is a bit pricey BUT remember you pay what you get. I have some friends who are phlebotomist and they went to other schools (cheaper) and it was trash according to them. After my externship I applied to 5-15 jobs every single day until I got an offer. Do not feel discouraged when you receive emails stating that you did not get the position; keep applying! I recently finished the 5-Week CNA program here! Of the options that I had, this was the most affordable and conveniently located institution. The tuition included the uniform, CPR training, and all other supplies such as textbooks. There were two sections to the course: theory and clinical. For the theory days, we watched videos, took quizzes, and listened to lectures given by Ms. Pearl. She's super nice and down-to-earth! She also clearly wants her students to succeed!!! For the clinical days, we went to Rowland Convalescent Hospital and got to shadow and assist CNAs in their duties. It was valuable learning experience for me! The CNAs there were really helpful and tried their best to walk us through the skills step-by-step despite being busy with their own schedules. Overall, I felt that this program was a good length, and I learned a good amount of information! If you're looking for a CNA program that isn't too long but helps you gain enough knowledge for the state exam, is reasonably priced, and has a caring teacher, this is the institute for you! read more

Loui is THE WORST instructor I have ever met. I paid $100 to practice my sticking since I haven't drawn blood since 2017. First off im told to arrive at 3:30. Loui does greet us until 5:15.... he is obviously in a bad mood and tells us to glove up and start already. I told him I have not done this in a while and he didnt seem to care. I wasnt following protocol because I DONT REMEMBER and he screamed at me. I told him, I would appreciate it if he wouldnt scream at me and he proceeded to raise his voice and said "if I was screaming it will sound like this!" I think that is extremely unprofessional and if he had a bad day im not the one he should be taking it out on. Throughout the stick he just kept raising his voice at me saying what I was doing wrong instead of GUIDING me and TEACHING me. I will not recommend this institution to anyone until Loui is removed from the staff. read more

Completed the EKG Technician course about a month ago! The course is accelerated but definitely do-able. EKG course is 3 weekends in a row plus an additional Saturday (including National Exam to get certified). The staff is rude and unhelpful, it's disorganized, no one is really interested in teaching and your clinical experiences can vary greatly. One of the best school I have come across. I took the 5 weeks CNA course with Ms. Pearl. My class was rather small (6 students) and unique as we all were striving to become more than just a CNA as a career goal. During my time here Ms Pearl was very engaging with the lecture material and telling us stories of real life scenarios. She was so supportive and made the class fun. Mind you the lecture portion of class sometimes ran up to 8 hours of just pure new information. The class it self was not difficult at all. It was mostly common sense and knowledge in how to treat and care for others. For our externship we were able to gain hands on experiences with residents at a long term care facility. Again, Ms Pearl made sure we were all prepared and made us feel like we were in good hands with the CNA and staff there. At the site, the CNAs that we worked with were so willing to teach us and made sure we gain a valuable experience. They made sure we understood that sometimes giving care isn't always a pretty sight but to always treat patients and residents like they are your family. They allowed us to really come to terms that the people that need our care are human and have feelings and they are more than just another case. The CNAs we were able to help and learn from really put into perspective how much it means to give patient care to those unable to help themselves and to show them dignity. Ohh and when we took our exam to be certified our entire class was able take it all together at the same location. And we all PASSED!! During the five weeks we all shared a commonality, the will to succeed and the will to learn. It was pretty special to see that we all supported one another and we all came out of the testing site victorious. Please if you are thinking about taking or becoming a CNA to consider this school. The course was good, however I don't think that the preparation for a job in phlebotomy was thorough enough. I got licensed & haven't been able to locate a job since Jan 2020 due to them wanting more experience. This whole experience has me stuck & I'm not sure what to do moving forward. Whenever people ask me where I went to school for CPT, I get embarrassed and ashamed to tell them that I came here so I don't even mention the name of this institution. I'm highly disappointed, I feel completely scammed out of my money. These good reviews fooled me. My biggest problem was with their externship. They assigned me to to San Judas Medical Group and it was so unprofessional there! They had me clean there more than draw blood. By the end of my week, the phlebotomist at that site by the name of "Suzie" that was "supposed" to look over me, filled in fake names for nonexistent patients!! To fill in the requirement for 50 blood draws! Red flag much. Isn't this illegal?? I talked with Mr. Lee and Charisse after and told them what happened. Their solution? To pay them (Regan) AGAIN for the externship fees to redo my externship if I'm unhappy. I really wanted to like this school but there is some sketchy activity happening at their externship sites and the fact that they tried to shift the blame on their students is alarming. So here I go, fresh out of this school with my certification with not that many practice since Suzie at the externship site decided to fill in fake names!! Great!! And by the way, I was a student at this school. I have the documentation to prove it but what could I expect no from Regan? Them offering for me to PAY them again to make it up to me? That makes sense.. To be honest, the only good thing about this school were the front desk people. (Abby + the other young man whose named started with a R I think, I can't remember). I took the phlebotomy course in July 2017, and I was very pleased with my overall experience. I chose this program because it only required me to attend class on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for two weeks, and as someone who worked and went to school during the weekdays, this worked out perfectly! The cost of the class is pricey but they offer an option to pay half to reserve a seat and pay the second half on the first day of class. Although pricey, it was very reasonable for what is offered. Since the class is very fast-paced, their were exams everyday, but I found this to be very helpful when preparing for the state exam. The lectures were very thorough, and informative and prepared me for the daily exams. The phlebotomy practice was also very helpful. The instructors would spend extra time with students if they knew they were struggling with straight needles or butterfly needles. The instructors Gabby and Louis were my favorite instructors and were always there to answer my questions and help me out. After completing the class, I had to complete my externship which required 40 hours of practice. I was able to complete my externship at a great hospital in Los Angeles, and with this, I gained a lot of phlebotomy skills, which helped me get a job a Clinical Laboratory Assistant at another hospital. The staff is very courteous and helpful! If you're thinking about pursuing a career in phlebotomy, RCI is the place to go! read more
