So both of my cats have always been very large boys. They're both alpha males and tend to fight. All of a sudden out of nowhere Bentley started losing weight, Which worried me terribly. I called to make an appointment and explain the situation and they got Bentley in an ambentley in in a matter of a week. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming as I entered the facility. Bentley had a very thorough check out although I had to leave him there for a year and test because you're in test because his bladder was empty And they couldn't get a sample. Come to find out my little baby here was stressed ostressed out most likely do to the 14 hour drive and living in hotels for 3 months while my home was being Built-in Conway. Bentley was given a couple prescriptions and is doing very well. I look forward to a long term relationship with this veterinarian for both my kitties. Thank you for your help and knowledge whknowledge when it comes to cats.

The first vet who saw my pet was fired on the spot for nasty things she said to me. The next vet, who looks like she is sixteen, basically lectured me for trying to do everything I could to save my dog. These are not nice people and very unprofessional.

This review is long past due. The main vet is Dr. Dean…read moreAnderson. Dr. Paul is a part time vet there working on Thursday and Fridays. About 5 months ago my Chaweenie, Cassie suddenly became critically ill. She couldn't stand or walk and her head was flopping around in a circle. I thought she was having a stroke. I immediately called the vet. It was a Wednesday so Dr. Paul was not there. Dr. Anderson took her from me and did bloodwork on her. Her HCT was 14%. It should have been 40%. The vet should have told me right then to take her to the animal hospital. He did not. He just told me she had Immunocompromised Hemolytic Anemia and she had 30% chance of surviving. She absolutely needed Oxygen and Blood. They had NEITHER! No emergency equipment or blood. All that was done for her was IV fluids with Steroids which did nothing . I had just moved to Myrtle Beach and I did not know there was an animal hospital right down 17 bypass. If I had known, I would have taken her there. That vet should have told me to take her there for at least a chance to live. I left her with that vet praying she would survive. The next morning Dr. Paul called to tell me my Cassie had passed during the night. All alone probably striving to breathe. I went straight to the vet's office and held my Cassie saying goodbye to her. That I loved her so much. Finally when I was composed enough, I gave her back to staff. Then I was promptly given a bill for 800 dollars. In my opinion, they let her die! I will never forgive them. All they cared about was the money! Dr. Anderson is in my eyes, the worst vet I have known. I am finally writing this review for my sweet Cassie. She didn't deserve to die alone or like she did! So Cassie, this is for you. I will love and miss you forever...

Coastal Veterinary Care is fantastic. There aren't enough superlatives for Dr. Black and her team,…read moreincluding veterinary tech Erika. We visited this practice for the second time last week in Myrtle Beach from our vacation spot in Sunset Beach. Our first experience was a few years ago when Dr. Black saw our miniature schnauzer Katie, who was an ailing senior citizen. Dr. Black took all the time in the world to examine Katie and to educate my husband on what was going on with her health. She even called my husband after he had returned to Sunset Beach to suggest another medication that might be helpful, and had one of her technicians drop it off at the Food Lion parking lot on her way home! That is how considerate and compassionate she is. We returned last week with our newest mini schnauzer Josie, who had two sets of stitches from an unfortunate encounter with a fox, and our local vet wanted them removed before we returned from vacation. We were so happy to once again call on Dr. Black and enjoyed our experience even more. Her assistant Erika was so nice, and made us feel at home as we waited for Dr. Black. She gave us updates while we were waiting and was very gentle with Josie in getting her ready for her appointment. Dr. Black was as terrific as we remembered her, extremely caring, knowledgeable and gentle with Josie. She removed Josie's stitches and reported that Josie was a perfect patient, and was healing well from her injuries. She is not only a skilled medical professional, but also a very kind and relatable person. If you live in Myrtle Beach with your pet, you are very fortunate to have Dr. Black in your midst! Susan W

Did you know the average cost of a vet visit in MB is 60.00 I'd like to add that the assistants are friendly.

Then they send you back to a space and wait for someone to come out to take payment. I paid by credit card, so she had to go back and forth again. Too many different checkpoints- waste of time. The whole process took an hour and 15 minutes. And that was with an appointment. They don't give you a prescription for heartworm. They just give you an invoice and that shows heart-worm test as negative. You then have to go on the website to purchase their heart guard preventative because online companies want an actual prescription

I adopted a dog from GSHS in March of last year. Later that year I fell and broke my right ankle…read moreand a metatarsal head. I tried for at least 2 months to take care of my dog. I had trained her a lot and was glad to have her. But there came a time when I could not take care of her the way she needed. I couldn't walk her or let her out to do her business because I couldn't walk. My neighbor was walking her for a while. I was in a boot for 10 days then my doctor put me in a cast for 4 weeks. After 5 weeks I had to wear the boot again. All the while I could not walk. While in the boot I knew I had to make other plans. Since I am alone I knew that I would have to take her back because I was not able to take care of her. After the employee took her she told me that I WOULD NOT be able to adopt another dog, their policy is if a dog is returned, you cannot adopt from them again. I told them that I had no way of taking care of her so I thought this was the best thing for her. Obviously not. This was not a return just because I didn't want the dog. I was not physically able to care for her. That didn't make any sense to me. I wanted the dog, but was handicapped too long. It took me over 9 months before I could walk without pain. So now I have to try again to find a dog that fits my lifestyle and my capabilities. Not an easy task but I really hope I find one soon.
