Hiding out in a great old warehouse building on Tonawanda Street in Buffalo , is coocoou27. Here you will find a treasure trove of vintage decor that some say is the best location to find mid century pieces . Walking in you will be overwhelmed in the best possible way with the time capsule of a space that is completely filled with one of a kind items from the past . You can really spend some time here ( and , well , some money ) . If you have a decent budget to work with , definitely stop in and check out all of the amazing retro pieces . Coocoou27 is a huge warehouse space located in an industrial neighborhood. It's not the easiest place to find, but it's well worth the effort. On the first floor, you'll find a well appointed showroom stocked mainly with mid century modern furniture and accessories for the home. The prices are fair and the products are almost always in exceptional condition. Helpful staff is always on hand to assist. Near the front door you'll find stairs up to two additional floors of warehouse space. On these floors you'll discover a treasure trove of furniture, industrial pieces, and just about anything else you can imagine from a wide range of historical periods. As you venture into this area, you'll find pieces stacked to the ceiling -- so keep your eyes open! It's easy to miss something great. More often than not the prices in this area are not marked, so if you find something you love, grab someone from the first floor to discuss the purchase. I've been happy to find a bunch of bargains here on really unusual pieces so it never hurts to ask! All in all, I think this is one of the best places in the city to look for used furniture - especially if you're a fan of mid century modern pieces. Completely obsessed. Before moving back to Buffalo, I visited coocoou27 from time to time whenever in town. Now that we've moved back, we've started to acquire furniture to fill a whole house. I love this place... It's a gem....3 giant floors of stuff. Have bought a handful of very cool mid century modern furniture and other interesting pieces from this place. They don't have set hours but the guy said there usually always open... I have gone on the weekends during the day.. He said you can always call first. Of course I would have chosen no stars if I could have because I have nothing except for a nearly $2000.00 deduction from my bank account. I feel obligated to write this review of the online sales. I bought online a interesting and unique sofa. I immediately got an email confirming my order and payment. The email said I would hear from them again when the sofa was shipped....nothing for about ten days. So I Left a phone message and sent an email inquiring. I got no response, so next sent a message through Yelp...no response. I did finally reach Michael Merisola who answered his phone. He reported he was completely unaware of my purchase, the sofa I purchased, my efforts to inquire. He blamed the person who was supposed to be handling the on-line sales and said he would talk with him and find out the status of my order and would call me back the same day. But he did not. So I called again today and spoke with him. He said he had not been able to talk with his web person (Does he even exist? Doesn't he have a cell phone?). Mr. Merisola said he would try to find the sofa today, and would call me back. If he couldn't find it, he said he would refund my money which he has had the use of for two weeks. He reminded me I have a guarantee through PayPal . Hmm. He did not call me back today, so I thought I must post this review. I see he has otherwise good reviews for his warehouse sales, and he does find the most unique things. I don't think he has it together for online sales. I will update when I get some kind of resolution, sofa or money back. Update. Mr. Merisola did not call me with results of his search for the sofa. I assume he did not because he did refund my money to my PayPal acct. read more
