Many years I've been promising myself I would stop in here on my trek to or from Buffalo to or from…read moreSmokin' Joe's. This was the year; today was the day. And I am so glad I finally stopped. Sanborn Old General Store is a rabbit warren of antiques, collectibles, and general household things you might be looking for, even if you didn't know it before you visited. But I was looking for two lamps, one for a book case and a floor model. Found both. Each little section belongs to a different seller, each seller renting a space for their wares. One sales host on site when I stopped in today, Geraldine. She was very helpful. I found lamps that would work for me, each one belonging to a different seller. The prices were reasonable, but I had a limit of what I could spend on the two. Geraldine called the sellers with my offers. First was accepted, second was a compromise. A third item, a plant stand, interested me, but it was new to the store so the dealer declined my offer. I will check back in about two weeks when I'm next out that way. Because of the quantity and variety of items in the store, the place is a collector's dream ... and a museum for all. Even if you don't live near Sanborn (I'm about 25 miles away), I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. There is also a very clean and cozy rest room.

This would be the "premier" center that holds a lot of the higher end antiques and collectibles that the other locations wouldn't necessarily feature. I've always found that you usually need to ask if the vendors have a "deal" or "special" going on and I have never paid the asking price. I've always walked away with a deal. You'll need to barter and they're willing to contact the seller with price offers. Lots of great furniture and other items up for grabs. Definitely check it out.

I don't now what the problem was with those who were so unhappy. I'm in retail it is VERY THOUGHTLESS to come in 10 or 12 minutes before closing. We made some purchases, we did arrive at 10 am and waited out on the porch. They don't open until 11. A lovely lady drove up parked her car and asked "What are you doing out here? Please, please come in, you don't have to wait out here". What a sweetheart! I'm currently contacting them about a vintage mink coat I would like. You have to pay attention to tags and code and made sure when you check out the discount get applied. My purse and earrings both 20% off. I noticed after I left that she didn't apply the discount on any. I came back and asked for the discount for the bag only. Since the earrings already only $3, I don't bothered. If I happened to be in the area I'll stop again. They do have cool stuff.

The prices are higher than I'd like for a thrift shop but if you get lucky with the price tag colors then sometimes there are good deals. Stickers are extremely sticky and are put on things regardless of whether it will damage them or not, so be aware that this stuff is a pain to get off if you are looking for collectibles. Parking lot is large and easy to access. Staff is generally friendly and helpful... if you can find them. There is not always someone at the register and the method they have of checking people out seems purposely designed to be the most inefficient and awkward setup possible. Not the staff's fault, but can management consider a re-design of the check-out area? Overall decent store and I love that it supports the veterans. They always ask if I want to round up my purchase as a donation and yes, I do. Great cause and good treasure hunting spot.

She has a beautiful cat. There are also items in the backyard. I didn't need anything, and my mom didn't find anything, so we unfortunately walked out of the shop empty handed. I don't know how, because there is so much. I don't think I saw a quarter of the items in there with my brief walk through. Definitely come here when you have a lot of time to look at everything. I didn't see any prices on items, and I hate asking how much items are.

My friend and brought me here today and introduced me to Carrie who owns and operates the store. She was super nice and knowledgeable about the inventory. Left us alone to browse but was never too far away when we had questions about things. I picked up a huge wooden picture frame for an item I need to frame. Been looking for a while now so this was perfect timing. I'll be back for sure to browse and find random treasures.

How many times have I driven past Tesori and said " that place looks adorable I have to stop in…read morethere" .... countless! But I finally did stop in there and it is adorable!! And it's eclectic with vintage, modern, antiques , collectibles, art work and furniture. So many things your eyes simply don't know where to look. The kind of place that makes it very difficult to carry on a conversation with someone because you're looking at so many fun things that you forget what they asked you! The owner was absolutely welcoming and just charming. There was a fire in the fire place that invited you to sit and look around and keep jumping up to get something else you simply couldn't believe you found. Every nook and cranny had a treasure. Some were from estate sales, some were on consignment, some were from local artists. I can't imagine not being able to find just the most unique gift for someone or for that shelf in your home. I couldn't resist a vintage train case! The owner also told us that new items are constantly being added and so it's the kind of place that you would never see the same thing twice and I think always be welcomed anytime. I'm looking forward to going and hanging out with some holiday gift money again soon!!
