I liked the fact he could give me a solid estimate via text message as opposed to other companies who wanted to set up an on-site appointment for a tech to "evaluate the job" before giving an estimate. He also sent me his contractor license & insurance information when I asked him about it. Veteran-owned business. An appointment was set for 10:00 am, but we had an unforeseen schedule conflict, so Jimmie kindly flexed to 3:00 pm. It was identified the failure was at the connection point installed by Fowler Family Plumbing in 2020. When we contacted the company to better understand the issue and request documentation related to the original work, they were unable to provide a work order, permit records, inspection information, or any meaningful details about what work was actually performed. Even more concerning, the documentation we received when purchasing our home three years ago does not appear to match what multiple plumbers are now seeing in the sewer line. What made this experience even more frustrating was the company's customer service. My husband attempted to contact them numerous times and received little to no response. Even when they did respond, they failed to show up on multiple occasions despite telling us they were coming. With our sewer actively backing up into our basement and no assistance from the company that performed the work, we had no choice but to seek help from other plumbers. When I finally received a response, the communication was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than addressing the concerns raised by multiple independent plumbers, they immediately shifted blame elsewhere. They even suggested that other plumbers had been "messing with" the line simply because they performed standard sewer camera inspections to diagnose the problem. Instead of investigating why a sewer connection had failed in less than six years, Fowler Family Plumbing appeared far more interested in avoiding responsibility and shifting blame. A properly installed sewer connection should not fail after such a short period of time. The combination of questionable workmanship, missing documentation, poor communication, repeated no-shows, and a refusal to stand behind their work has left us with a significant repair bill and serious concerns about the quality of the original installation. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for sewer and plumbing work.
