The first time I went in 2025 I had to wait a long while to be seen. This year's visit was super…read morequick! After signing everything & updating my insurance information, it was less than five minutes to be taken back. After the nurse took vitals it was less than 10 minutes for Dr. Gerlach to see me. I'll continue going to Idaho Heart Institute.

Unfortunately, our experience with Idaho Heart Institute was extremely disappointing. We had questions about what was going on and about the tests being ordered, but our questions were not adequately answered or explained. At times, we were made to feel as though we should already know the answers to our own medical questions. The problem is, **we aren't medical professionals--we're patients.** We shouldn't be made to feel foolish for asking questions or wanting to understand our own care. A number of tests were scheduled, but we weren't given clear explanations about what the tests were for, what the doctors were looking for, or what the results could mean. Communication and patient education should be a basic part of medical care, especially when you're dealing with something as serious and stressful as heart health. Our overall impression was that the appointments felt rushed and impersonal, as though the priority was getting us through the appointment and scheduling more tests rather than taking the time to actually listen to us and explain what was happening. We left feeling like our concerns and questions were an inconvenience rather than something our healthcare providers wanted to address. **Patients deserve to understand their care, have their questions answered, and be treated with respect. We did not feel that we received that at Idaho Heart Institute.
