Food made myself and my grandson very ill. Sad part is I've heard this serval times before. Should ha e just stayed away.

This place is discussing on so many levels. The staff is rude and unhygienic. My family and I have seen some gross things the staff has done and no one seems to care. They will pick their nose run their hands through their greasy hair and try to hand you a cup they have put their fingers in. My little brother and I have gotten several hamburgers that weren't even fully cooked all the way. I have had eaten a BBQ sandwich from here and threw it up an hour later. The staff that work at the register is rude and huffy like you're wasting their time when you are trying to order your food. I have avoided this place all together. read more

I can from all the way out of town with my best buddies. My friend suggested the place so I stopped by. The worst service I've ever experienced. Food took so long and when it came it wasn't what I ordered. I tried to hold my cool but when they got it wrong again I flipped. I don't suggest this place to eat because they are unprofessional. The person on my drive thought was rude and talking to his friends and I could hear the other drive though and she was yelling at the customer. Then I pulled up and he said back up in the drive though. We stopped here while on a long distance trip. Found out after we were back on I-85 that they didn't give us all of the burger toppings for which we paid. The Hershey's chocolate shake was okay. Sorry folks but my first visit to cookout may be my last. Both the hamburger and the grilled chicken we ordered had a very lighter fluid / chemical taste. It was completely unappetizing! The sides of onions rings, fries and hush puppies were fairly good. The cheerwine float was pretty good also. However with these positives, the main burgers and sandwiches were just that bad. I will try cook out sometime again but no time soon nor in Gaffney. If that chemical taste was their attempt to duplicate a smokey flavor, they are sorely mistaken. read more

I use to love to eat here but now, no. Then I looked around and noticed it was crumbs all over the floor  and not just at my table but it all of the tables and Boots Can't give lower than 1 star. The Cook Out in Gaffney, SC was filthy & there was a long blonde hair in my food. I went to the Cook Out at 10:48am today so they had only been open for almost 20 minutes and the place was nasty. My friend had went straight to the counter to order our food so I went to get the condiments & napkins & to get a table. First off every knife & fork I touched was sticky ( they are individually wrapped). Then I went to a table which was sticky and crumbs covered most of the table. Then I looked around andnoticed that there was crumbs all over the floor and not just my table but at all of the tables and booths in the restaurant. I went and wet some napkins and wash the table and when my friend got back with the food told her that the table was nasty so she wentto the manager because I said I didn't want to have to wash the table and my chair by the way and still pay for my own food. If I wanted to do that I would cook and clean at home. This is probably one of the worst places I've ever been to eat. The menu is huge and has too many things to choose from.. it may be cheap but you might expect a greasy cheeseburger or greasy food. The outside looks nice but as soon as though get inside that's a whole different story. The floors had water or some kind of fluid on the floor that made it extremely slippery. And we had asked an employee to mop it but they just completely ignored us and went in to the back. When we sat on the booths they sounded like they were going to break and had rust and gum all over the tables, chairs and booths. When we sat down the tables were sticky and weren't cleaned. The workers didn't know their own menu. Lastly they just messed up all of our orders. And when my aunt was asking about the menu the workers just gave her dirty looks and were disrespectful. This place is a hit or miss for me. I always get a cheese quesadilla tray with absolutely NO chicken or meat at all for that matter. There has been plenty of times when I've been satisfied with my meal being correct, but even more times when I got home and it was incorrect. We stopped here for a milkshake as we were passing through. We ordered 3 milkshakes with 2 of them being wrong. We went inside to tell them that we ordered 2 Carmel milkshakes and the girl working was extremely rude and then preceded to overload the shake with caramel therefore we were unable to drink them at all. read more

Burger was unseasoned and full of gristle. Condiments on it were fresh however - crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, etc. Tea tasted like the pot is overdue for a cleaning. Fries were pretty good. OK in a pinch but frankly, no better than most national chains. read more

So, overall the food was good. The service on the other hand......terrible. The order was completely incorrect. My father asked the cashier to check the boxes before he left and he stated "no, they are right. They are in order." Needless to say, the order was incorrect. No cheese on the cheeseburger, no hotdog (which was ordered and paid for), the BBQ plate was incorrect, and the tea was unsweetened (ordered sweetened). The cashier couldn't care less about his job. I love Cookout, but will never ever come back to this one. The drink machine was broken, and the only beverages they had available were tea and water. To make matters worse, my order was horribly wrong! Ordered a BBQ sandwich, chili, and onion rings, but received a burger with lettuce and tomatoes, coleslaw, and onion rings. WTF. This place is a must try! Signs do not look appealing, but after several recommendations we gave it a shot. Great menu for both kids and grown ups, extremely inexpensive and polite, clean, helpful staff. What more could you want? Oh yeah the food: Delicious! Disappointed that I paid for food I did not receive. Discovered after I left because it was carry out. Will make a point to go elsewhere next time. There are plenty of choices at Exit 92 on I85 SC. read more
