There's a bit of a queue to navigate in the evening, but it's worth the wait. And the service is good so the line moves relatively quickly. On our visit, we tried the Charlie's Choccy Cake, which is a hot chocolate cake with chocolate ganache with a scoop of ice cream of your choice and a dab of coconut yogurt. It was wonderful, and I'm glad we split it. It would have been too rich for one. It was less than $10 NZD per person, so it was well worth it. I hope we have the chance to try it again.

My partner needed to bring some snacks into work, so I figured I'd pick up some cookies and try out one of their famous buns. The building is a large cube with large windows flooding the space with light. There is a seating area as well as an extremely long wrap around counter that is filled to the brim with a carboholics-dream. From hot cross buns (raisins and craisins with warm butter on the inside of the soft chewy bun) and cinnamon rolls and rasberry buns to lolly loafs and cream puffs and cookies, this place could feed an army of hungry children. They have pre-packaged cookies (and other bars/loafs) for sale that are cheaper than ordering custom cookies (which you can do in store or on their website, which include custom cakes with photos or screen art) and come in bags of 7. I picked up some Afghan cookies, chocolate chip, one other packet and I am on a waiting list for the Belgium Biscuits when they arrive out of the oven. They design wedding cakes or other specialty cakes as well with many different cake flavors. Starve yourself for a couple of days, come fill up on Kidds and drift happily into a carbo-coma. A must-visit!

We dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon (around 3:30pm) which was too late! They only had one donut left along with a couple donut pops. Way too popular! They normally have a dozen flavours to choose from. Their chef's special donut, mango, peach & passionfruit compote ($6.20 NZD), sounded fantastic but pricey. - Quintet pops ($3.30 NZD) - she gave this to us for free (nice gesture) as she was clearing out the last few items in her display case. They reminded me of tin bits/mini donuts but they weren't hot or fresh. Wouldn't pay for these as they were quite plain. - Cookies 'n cream ($5.50 NZD) - this was the very last donut so we decided to try it. It's hefty with plenty of filling inside but we weren't huge fans of the dough/texture. It was also very sweet. Maybe things would have been different if we could have picked the donuts that we wanted but c'est la vie. Come early before they sell out!
