These people should have their license reviewed! They started with promises to fix my tooth issue, then bungled every step of the way!! The work is shoddy - but the blame went to everyone EXCEPT the person actually doing the work. They told me that they would use certain high quality materials only to charge my insurance for inferior parts - then refused to acknowledge what was actually put into my mouth. Now I'm getting arbitrary bills which have nothing to do with the work performed. Anyone else experience similar issues - I'm happy to sue these criminals read more

I've been a patient at this office for over 5 years and all the staff are always friendly and helpful. Dr. Coombs is very gentle and thorough. I've needed a lot of work done and they've helped me figure what to do first and got through all of it with no pressure on timing or finances. They called and changed my appointment to an earlier time, the day of the appointment, then when I got to the location they told me they didn't have enough time to complete the scheduled appointment. I do not feel that this place is professional nor did they seem concerned that they inconvenienced me by having me travel to their location. read more

Dr. Coombs has been doing my dental work now for over 2 years and I should have started coming here a long time ago. He takes the time to listen to me when I have questions and concerns and I have full confidence in his ability and skill. He is very gentle and explains every step of the procedure which is calming to me. I came in for a deep cleaning with Rhonda and it was incredible. Rhonda took the time to really explain much to me, not that I didn't know what to do but explained to me more detail. Definitely not a great dentist experience. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because they worked with my schedule to bring me back multiple times. After moving to Carson, I was struggling to find a dentist who was accepting new patients. When I called Coombs and Brewer I was excited because not only were they accepting new patients, but they could get me in for a cleaning and an exam the following week. I was experiencing some pain in a couple of spots so the sooner the better. Although they could fit me in quickly, they close at 4pm and are not open on fridays so I had to take time off work to go in. I also feel it needs to be said that I have had multiple fillings in my life (ugh) and have never had an issue with a dentist or filling in the past. My initial impression was good. The cleaning went well, the exam was ok. I thought things were going to be fine. Dr. Brewer did my initial exam and informed me that the two spots I was having cold sensitivity and pain, there was nothing wrong. The third spot that was bugging me, needed to have a filling replaced. She also then told me the only spot in my mouth that wasn't hurting, needed a crown. I was obviously a little annoyed about this but trusted the dentist. When I went to check out after my initial appointment, the receptionist gave me an estimate for the filling and crown. It was way more than I was expecting but she explained my insurance only covered 50% of crown and 80% of fillings. I went back a week later to have the temporary crown placed by Dr. Brewer and this is when the real issues started. The temporary crown did not feel good at all. It was so rough, there was glue (or whatever adhesive they use) spilling out the sides and it felt terrible. I ended up calling them back the next day and they asked me to come back in. Of course since they close at 4 and I'm not off till 5, this meant more time off work. To make a long story short, the temporary still did not feel right after my second visit and I had to go back a third time in one week where they ended up just replacing the temporary. At this point I had also seen Dr. Coombs. The third attempt with the temporary felt better, it was smooth, no glue edges... which really makes me wonder about the quality the first time. My old dentist did permanent crowns on the same day so I was pretty irritated that even after all of this, it was going to be two weeks before I could have the temporary taken out and the permanent placed. Unfortunately all of this fussing in my mouth somehow really irritated the spot where I needed a filling replaced and my mouth just started hurting so bad. I ended up having to go back a few days later and having the filling replaced by Dr. Coombs. I was hoping this would fix everything but my mouth just didn't feel right. I had to sit with all of this for at least 6 days because I was going on vacation and I knew my appointment for the permanent crown was only a few days after I got back. The day I went in for my filling, the receptionist also informed me that my initial quote she had given me was completely wrong. I still don't understand it but apparently the insurance information she quoted me was wrong and I somehow I owed a lot more. I was also being charged for x-rays on my initial visit because my insurance had kicked that charge back for being "too soon". In the past I have never had an issue like this. Every dentist has looked at my insurance before providing services and if I am not due for X-rays, they get them from my previous dentist. I also don't know how they have one insurance quote and then it's something totally different? I have never been charged this much by a dentist. When I was on vacation I noticed that the filling they had replaced, started snagging on almost everything I ate. I was having to floss after almost every meal and it felt worse than it did to begin with. When I went in for the permanent crown, I met with Dr. Coombs and he was just rude to me. I mentioned to him that the filling wasn't feeling right and he basically said my only option was for them to re do it yet again. Having the permanent crown placed was just frustrating and Dr. Coombs actually got visibly mad at me. I guess the best way to sum this all up is by saying I left after my final appointment and cried in my car. I feel like my nice teeth are permanently messed up, I'm in pain, I was almost yelled at by a professional dentist, and I was charged so much. I have called a new dentist and hopefully they can fix what was done.... But of course that will cost me even more. read more

I was seen Dr. Ryan Coombs for two gum line filling replacements. His staff was friendly, and his Dental assistant (Leon?) couldn't have been more efficient and pleasant. I felt that Dr. Coombs communicated really well with regard to the procedure, and then sat and explained any possible post-procedural sensitivities. My wait time prior was very reasonable. The entire procedure only took 30 minutes, and was completely painfree and comfortable. I felt as if Dr. Coombs used the most updated numbing injection, which also had the benefit of not lasting too long. I am very impressed with this practice, and highly recommend them. read more

Turned out the receptionist was scheduling my kids for a different procedure than what I requested, and never even said anything! Just set my kids to have cleanings instead of check-ups. Didn't even apologize, got argumentative and aggressive instead. This is absolutely unacceptable. read more

I've been going to these dentists since 2014. Initially for a crown that they fixed. They are recommending four more crowns. However they are not pushy as I told them I will get them as needed. Staff is very professional and friendly. Cleanings are thorough. As a senior, over 65 you get 5% cash/check discount. Now that I'm on Medicare, I researched Medicare dental providers... with DentalCareUSA. All have extremely bad reviews, plus Medicare only pays for cleaning and X-rays. I've decided I will stay with this dentist versus the nightmare of going to a Medicare provider dentist. Paying out of pocket is actually cheaper than going with a Medicare provider that charges double and triple for services. read more

Very kind and professional office staff!!!!!! Last week I had a molar extracted at a different dentist, and after suffering for several days with pain I went back to the dentist and was treated rudely by the front staff. I was told that if I had pain I would have come in the morning, not in the afternoon, because that is what most people do and not sure the Dr. could see me at all. In pain, that angered me so I left and I went to Dr. Brewer, because my husband goes to Dr. Coombs, and I was greeted professionally, and told that Dr. Brewer would see me shortly. Dr. Brewer examined the sore extraction site, and said it was healing ok, what a relief, then she put a pain relieving pack in it and said to call back in the morning if it hurts again and she would take care of it for me. Needless to say I will be transferring my dental records to her and continue with Dr. Brewer from now on. Also the price for dropping in was very reasonable, less than $100. read more

Unfortunately, they are not a primary GEHA insurance Dentist. Everyone is really nice and friendly there. They played great tunes in the office. I'm bummed, but it's my fault for not making sure they were a preferred provider. If I had another insurance I would definitely go Coombs & Brewer. I hope this helps someone...... read more

I have developed such a strong hatred towards dentists. During the last 5 or 6 years, I have been seen by 3 different dentists. The first dentist had horrible bedside manners and made every visit seem like he was put out of his way. The second dentist (only went once) didn't numb me enough when it came time to have a small cavity taken care of it. I was in so much pain from feeling the drill and even after telling them, he proceeded with the work. The third and final dentist was a very nice lady, but her office staff just couldn't get it together. They would bill insurance for the wrong things or sometimes not even bill them at all. I would get nasty letters from them telling me to pay up when it was actually them messing up. I stayed with this dentist for a few years because I loved the doctor, but the constant billing problem became too time consuming and annoying. These were the reasons why I developed a hatred for dentists. About two weeks ago, I developed a pain in a tooth with an old filling. Dr Brewer's office was able to get me in as a new patient within the week! Then when there, I was treated like a patient they had known for years. The doctor and the assistant (Sue) were so nice and caring. I ended up needing a crown (I always knew I was royalty!) and their office staff worked with me to find a lab that would make me a crown that wouldn't cost me an arm and leg. We ended up sending the mold out of state!! Call me crazy, but I look forward to going back in to get the crown put on so I can joke around and laugh with their wonderful staff!! read more
