This review is about my experience on may 9, 2024 when I booked a tooth extraction with Dr. John…read moreO'Brien and a Dr. Tina Chang came in to replace him without my previous knowledge. she proceeded to tug and rock my face very forcefully while pressing an instrument on my gum bruising it even when I attempted to alert her that she was hurting me. even after that she did a bone graft . I was hurting so much that after that visit I had to take Naproxen for pain and I even went back to tell Dr. O'Brien that I was still in pain. his answer was that it will just take time. I called his office to say I had pain even after 8months; I cannot complete a yawn and I have pain all the time and I can't sleep on the side Dr. Chang worked on . This was THE WORST experience I've had at any dentist . I've always had dentists throughout my life until they've actually retired. I wanted to find a Dentist near Saratoga Springs since I've moved here from downstate . what a mistake. I've asked for a refund for that visit because after seeing my medical doctor , I've been told I have TMD, a jaw disorder. this Dr. has ruined my ability to chew, sleep and I'm in chronic pain. I have asked for compensation for that Procedure so I can go to an TMD specialist and I've gotten no response. I'm sorry to say it's a very unprofessional office . I would never recommend this dental office. They obviously don't care how they treat a patient and just care about the money. this is the worst and only review I've ever given.

The Cadillac (or is that Tesla?) of area orthodontics practices. We checked with a lot of local…read moreparents before coming here, as it had the reputation for being just a tad more expensive than competing practices, but both the results and the professionalism have made it well worth it thus far. The business side is flawless: check ins and initial intake are handled very well, and we got good help when the very partial dental insurance reimbursement for one kid's choppers went to the wrong place. Appointment times are kept very close, and are offered at school-friendly times for routine visits (although more extensive things may have to be scheduled earlier in the day). Throw in amenities: parent coffee and tea (the good stuff), mostly-working video game consoles (keeps the younger kids occupied) and a cheery if occasionally a bit crowded waiting area. Dr. DeLuke's extremely friendly with both parents and kids and explains things well without being condescending, and the medical assistant staff are also chipper and efficient without making it seem like you're rushed. So it has that happy medium of being pretty quick but if you need more time to have things explained, not a problem. One extra touch: one of my kids has a hearing problem for which he sees an ENT; Dr DeLuke took the time to get us a CD of the full scans he did for the orthodonture intake to show all the relevant parts of the head that we could take to the ENT at his next visit, who appreciated them. I take this as a sign he's a medical professional first, as it were, and an orthodontist second, and that's what you want in a specialty practitioner.

He will go above and beyond to make sure that your teeth are as perfect as they can possibly be. The office is beyond professional and he has always been available for emergencies. The cost may not always be the lowest if your shopping around but I can tell you he is worth the upcharge.

I read through all of the reviews and was very surprised at the many which were listed as 'not…read morerecommended' as they were excellent! So let me share my personal experience with you. I was referred to Dr. MaiAn Vu by a friend who, like me, is a chicken when it comes to going to the dentist. She said, "you will love her", and my friend was right. Although I live in the Saratoga Springs area, I had an emergency and needed to go to the Chauvin Family Dentistry's Clifton Park office because they were open that day. That's where I met an "Angel", Ellen, who is (or was the last time I was there) the receptionist in their Clifton Park office. This was during a very bad time in my life when I was going through some serious financial struggles (my husband - now ex - disappeared one day and left me with a stack of overdue, unpaid bills and no money). Ellen was compassionate and understanding. She worked it out so that I could pay the bill off a bit each month without shame. The overall care that I received was outstanding. I wish that I could have continued to go to the Clifton Park office but their practice was not on my medical plan's approved list. Unfortunately, paying out of pocket for routine cleaning and x-rays was not an option. Even though I had been going to a dentist closer to home (and on my program) for periodic check-ups and cleanings, when I needed a crown I went to Dr. Vu and to Ellen's office. I paid out of pocket because crowns were not covered in my dental plan (they just want to pull your teeth!). Because they are THAT GOOD! I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Vu and Ellen. Unfortunately, once again, their practice is not on my fiance's dental plan's approved list, which is really a bummer.
