I've been going to Crescent Dental for 20 years or more. I love the office staff Tina and Kim, who really do a fabulous job in expediting your insurance and making future appointments that accommodate your busy schedule. Dr. Macina is a great dentist, very professional, with years of experience. I've had several dental issues in the past and not once has he ever suggested I have it done in his office. He's referred me to a specialist, on more than one occasion because they were huge issues that really needed to be done at an oral surgeon's office, where I could get knocked out.....lol...AKA....anesthesia. I have now established a wonderful relationship with my oral surgeon. I wouldn't think of going any other place to have my mouth worked on. Oh did I mention I am the biggest baby EVER??? I absolutely hate, NEEDLES!!! Dr. Macina is pretty skilled at given those novocaine shots!! read more

I never actually went to this dentist however I tried booking an appointment and the person that answers the phone is so incredibly rude. I sort of wrote it off last week, everyone has a bad day. I called again today and tried explaining that we have new insurance and didn't have the actual card yet. She talks over you and is so rude. I recently had teeth cleaning at this clinic, and my experience was nothing but positive. The hygienist, the doctor, and the front desk receptionist all were professional and easy to deal with. The cleaning was thorough and their diagnosis on 1 needed filling was accurate. Due to living far and not being able to make my appointment a few times, the receptionist was very understanding and accommodating. They even called me to see if I wanted to reschedule due to the snow storm. I appreciated them not encouraging me to drive in a bad weather. Good business. read more

I bought a exam, cleaning, X-ray package via Livinig Social. I booked my exam for today and received a text in the morning confirming the appointment. After arriving on time I was informed that the dentist had an emergency over the weekend and was not in today. I had a 25 to 30 minute drive to get there. I was told I could get my cleaning and xrays today but would have to make a second trip back for the exam. While I understand the only dentist had an emergency the staff were aware of this and rescheduled other appointments but did not provide the same opportunity to me. I believe they should have given me the option to reschedule rather than confirming the appointment and forcing me into 2 trips. read more

I've been a patient at Crescent Dental for approximately 20 years now. I have never had a problem obtaining an appointment. The waiting area is tidy, and there's coffee and tea along with a television and magazines to keep you entertained until your name is called. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Macina, his office staff, and the rest of the team. I've had everything from cleanings, to root canals done at Crescent Dentle and it's always been relatively pain free. They take most insurances, however, if a procedure isn't covered, the front office staff will explain the cost in detail before and after each visit so there's no surprises financially. These dentist are liars who only want your money! They gave me a dental plan for and astronomical amount of money. I went to another dentist in the area, insurance covered most of the plan! DO NOT go to Crescent Dental and/or Dr. Macina. I don't usually leave bad reviews (people have off days and reviews can only show one side of the story), but I feel it's my duty to say something so that no one has to go through what my partner went through at the hands of this "dentist". Dr. Macina is a dentist (not oral surgeon) who absolutely butchered my boyfriend's wisdom teeth removal. We first found this office on Groupon (should have been our first red flag). After a cleaning, Dr. Macina informed my boyfriend that his wisdom teeth needed to be removed - though there was no pain or discomfort and he hadn't been advised this by previous dentists. Dr. Macina talked him into getting the procedure done at his office (as opposed to an oral surgeons) with simply novacane (as opposed to anesthesia or laughing gas, etc) with the promise that it would save money - a tempting suggestion for someone without dental insurance. I now believe this was a manipulative attempt in order for Dr. Macina to cash in on a wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Macina clearly should not have been performing this procedure. We expected the procedure would be very painful and have a tough recovery, but this process was not normal. Aside from the extremely painful and traumatizing extraction itself, Dr. Macina left a chunk of a tooth In there and didn't catch it until the SECOND follow up appointment (we insisted there was a unique pain, and they dismissed it as a dry socket for two weeks). At this point Dr. Macina had to basically redo the extraction process on that tooth after we already had been trying to heal from the original extraction for two weeks. After this second extraction attempt, he said he couldn't even get the piece out, so we had to go elsewhere to an actual oral surgeons office. We thankfully went to Albany Oral-Maxillofacial Surgeons, who were wonderful; though it was unfortunate having to pay them for their services after already rendering hundreds of dollars to Dr. Macina with nothing but pain and trauma to show for it. On top of absolutely terrible dental work, Dr. Macina was rude, dismissive, and wreaked of cigarette smoke (no offense to smokers, but at least wash your hands before putting them in someone's mouth). His front desk staff were friendly at first, but when I started to express concerns and advocate for my partner after the experience, they turned dismissive and patronizing. I would be seriously concerned for anyone seeing Dr. Macina for anything other than a simple cleaning. It is in your best interest to simply shop around and find another dentist that you can trust with your healthcare. read more

So I have been dealing with this place for 2 years and so this is how it goes I used to be a patient way back with aspen dental in 2 locations and I'll never go back again due to the lack of knowledge and over priced things that had to have done then I went to Dr Pray in ballston spa which wasn't as bad so then I moved and never knew anyone in Clifton park a stumped on this place and they do the whole payment option that I have not had any other place do which is good I liked that.so I thought great this is a place I can call my dentist,well during the time of me having somethings done I ended up getting a crown pop out which I thought after getting the crown they said if it came out the doctor would place it back in no charge wrong I paid 47.00 which they consider that a office visit so that same 47.00 they were suppose to take out 5 months ago I spoke to 2 different ladies at the desk and neither one took my money out each time they supposedly said they were going to do here we are I went to do my banking and noticed they just now took the money from my account ......so I'm going to say they have not a clue how to run a business just over look what a patient tells u multiple times and still don't follow thru I will definitely not go back maybe someone will see this and figure out what they need to do to make it better or right until then beware of this place everyone read more

The Dentist is good. There Contact the customer policy is a real pain. Constant Text's and emails, and Phone calls reminding you about Appointment. Day of Appointment a Text, then another Text, then I called them to ask them to stop and Office hung up on me. Then Again removed me from Automated Service, but not from Office driven contacts. Then told me if I wasn't happy with their Office Policy to have my records sent to another Dentist. I will Gladly do that. Nast Office Manager and Billing Person who has a problem with the Truth about Harrasing their Patients, saying they are very Kind to their Patients. Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye. read more
