In 1994, Dr. COOPER was one of my preceptors when I was a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner student at EMORY. At the time my kids were 3 and 8. They remained pts there thru their early 20's. Dr COOPER continued to manage my daughter's chronic condition while she was out of state in college. She had her 23 year 'well-child check (most practices stop between 18 & 21). When she 'walked in' (no appt, thought that was how it worked!) for her 24 year check up, she was told sorry, it's time to move onto the adult world. She recently moved to DC for employment, and we wanted her to have all her check ups before she left. She wanted me to call Dr. COOPER to make her a '27 year old well child check'. Told her it wasn't going to happen. Her response. 'Dr. COOPER just has to get over this whole age thing and still see me. He is my doctor. He's been seeing me since I was a baby. I will never go to anyone else!' To date, she has not, but her eyes and teeth are perfect! Pediatric dentists were also an issue. Alpharetta Childrens Dentistry has been seeing her since she has had teeth, and also saw her beyond regular pediatric time-frames. She was not pleased when they also told her 23 was time to go! I would give this practice ZERO stars if Google allowed it. One star is simply the lowest option. I am absolutely LIVID. Dr. Jeffrey Cooper specifically told us to bring my grandson back if his chest pain returned so he could evaluate him while it was happening. The asthma inhaler he prescribed did NOT relieve the chest pain. We followed his doctor's instructions. My family arrived approximately 10 minutes late, and Susan refused to have him seen, telling us to take him to urgent care instead. A child experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing was turned away over 10 MINUTES while the waiting room was completely EMPTY. I understand appointment policies. I do NOT understand prioritizing a late-arrival policy over a child's health, especially when HIS DOCTOR TOLD US TO BRING HIM BACK. If you expect your child's primary care provider to be available for more than routine well visits, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. We certainly will be. read more

Dr. Cooper was my pediatrician when I was born up until I aged out. I now have a son and we started to see Dr. Cooper. I love the feeling of going in and knowing the staff. You go straight back to a room and all the MA's are very sweet and front office staff are very kind. The only issue I had was my appointment would be moved to a provider without telling me and that was something I addressed and then never had the issue again. read more

From the moment I call you make the appt till check out, the staff at Cooper Pediatrics are phenomena. we started going in 2016 and I have never had a desire to look elsewhere. I feel like we are family when we are there. Care, attention, and professionalism has been the standard. the ladies at the front desk are always willing to help and understand our need. The medical team (from the MA, NP, and MD) take thier time and listen to all of our concerns. Explain in detail when we ask questions. And know when it's time to seek specialist help. I'm not the type to leave reviews on anything but I must make an exception. I've recently relocated to Atlanta and a friend of mine recommended this office to me. From the moment I called to schedule my appointment I had nothing but a pleasant experience with every single staff. What amazed me the most is how friendly, patient and professional the nurse was to my son. My son is a 4 year old who has been traumatized with doctors and nurses in previous practices. He cries every time he goes to the doctors, I would feel so embarrassed with his behavior. But not this time. The nurse came in to the room she nicely introduced herself and asked for my son's hand because he wouldn't stop crying, screaming, and kicking. I apologized for his behavior and what she said to me is what made me feel like being there was the best choice. She said "don't apologize, kids cry, especially around strangers". Others would make me feel ashamed about it. She talked to my son and she explained every step of everything that she was doing to him, she made my son feel so comfortable. I've never seen him okay at any doctor's visits. And the doctor who examined my son was so nice and thorough. She addressed every concerns I had and provided me with so many resources. Can't forget about the appearance of the office, nice and clean. Each room has a different theme. Thank you nurse Daphne, Dr. Amira and all the staff. You're all amazing. We're pleased with how things have been on our visits here. We haven't waited long, just an average time for the doctor to move between patients. The staff have been friendly. Our pediatrician (I can't remember his name) was a younger gentleman who was very friendly and was good with kids. We've been seen by 2 other doctors and all have so friendly, friendly, and professional. Great staff. Only complaint is their lounge. It's void of toys. There are 2 toys (see photo) but they're not appealing so it's boring for the kids. They should add a TV with cartoons and some more toys. It would make it easier for parents to control kids while waiting. I can live with the older facilities though since I know renovating a business takes a lot of money. But more toys would be nice. Otherwise, I recommend this office! read more

Baby doc in the house. I got a new baby and we have been coming here since the birth. The staff here is very friendly and respectful to you. Rooms: each room has a different kiddie theme and plenty of bench style seats with cushions. Rooms don't feel like a typical doc office. In fact my baby is playing in the box of goodies now. Staff: The staff is great. It appears they try to make sure you meet all the staff at each visit. This makes you feel like you are seeing you family. Long waits. Office manager has a terrible attitude. Referral coordinator takes over 2 weeks plus to submit referral. The referral still hasn't been submitted. Doctors are okay nothing special in regards to bedside manners overall pick another place. This place has gone downhill. I've been going here since my almost 14 year old son was born. I now have a four and 1 year old and I can honestly say the quality of this place has gone down the toilet. My one year old had a fever above 101 for three days, they said to bring her back at day 5. I scheduled to bring her back for a follow-up at day five and they want to charge me another copay. Are you serious? They literally did nothing last time. I've called before to get same day visits and they said we're full just take get to urgent care. I don't recommend them. Absolutely the worst practice ever! This comes from someone who worked at a facility who would recommended Cooper pediatrics. First of all some of the medical staff does not look put together and they look like they rolled out of bed. My problem was that they charged me for a no show fee $60! It wasn't even to see the doctor. It was for a vaccine! It's incredibly sad that they are willing to let go of 4 patients because of $60! Some of us can't afford this at these times. I would like to add that Ryan isn't the best to see he always tells you everything is normal and kinda makes a joke out of everything when your child's health should not be a joke or something to laugh at. I love Dr.Cooper but if a less than 5 minute rushed appointment is good for you go for it but I need someone that actually wants to answer my questions. As someone in the medical field please just go elsewhere. The billing department was very sarcastic and rude. She cut me off when I was talking. Run! The doctors and nice, but the billing office is terrible and the office manager is rude. I work in billing myself and we go above and beyond to help our patients get their claims resolved. At Cooper Pediatrics, they do as little as possible to assist you in getting your claims processed correctly. They don't care who pays the bills as long as someone does. Here we go. My son is 12 and my daughter is 2. We've been here since my son was a baby, I actually was a patient here when I was a child as well. Throughout our time here as a family, we've had a few unpleasant experiences, so I've always requested NP Susan (for my daughter) or Ryan (for my son). They are very respectful of my wishes, while also helping me to decide on what's best for my children. I don't prefer Dr. Cooper as he normally doesn't listen. Our last visit was for my daughter. I needed an ENT referral. They scheduled her with the wrong/new physician. Physician was not personable at all. She did not know anything about my child and googled her answers. She also pushed vaccinations, which at the time I was not ready, and I also had to put her in check for her tone; and reminded her I am the parent. My initial visit was not taken care of. Very unpleasant visit which resulted in me deciding to remove my children from this practice. The culture has certainly changed. The wait times are ridiculous. The office manager is also very unprofessional. I use to rave for this office, but I never will again. Look elsewhere. Your children deserve a physician who cares for them. read more

I must say that this is the most incompetent medical group I have ever dealt with. I actually filed a complaint with the department of health and the Georgia Medical Composite Board. I expressed concern when my son was less than 2 year old and had not reached his milestones and was told by Dr. Cooper than he's only delayed because I'm Latina and speak Spanish at home. I don't speak Spanish. I had to beg for a referral to get his an autism eval. I asked for a referral for speech and behaviorally therapy and was denied. Was told that he need to be diagnosed with autism for the referral which is false information. My son had Norovirus for over 6-8 months, they lost 3 stools samples, and refused to give me a GI referral so I can get my child some help. The staff is rude, unresponsive and lazy and the patient rooms are sometimes not cleaned prior to inviting the next patient into the room. I liked this office as I based my choice on reviews however when I saw that my little boy needed help and this medical staff was completely negligent and unresponsive to my child's medical needs I knew this was not the care I wanted for him. Fortunately I found another Dr. And got the treatment and referrals my little boy needed. read more

Office Nurse assured us they would see my child since she is sick, drove 45 mins, we called to let then know we would be a few mins late and they said its ok to come anyway, arrived to office 10 mins late and my child was denied service. Joe nurse over the phone and Amber the lady at the front desk gave bad customer service by assuring me my child would be seen and i was told the doctor left and no one there could attend to my child. Not even a nurse could see my child. My daughter has been coming here since she was born. Never gonna change pediatrics, yes the wait is a little longer than what used to be 15 years ago let alone 20 years ago when his office was off of Beaver Ruin in Norcross. The doctors and nurse practitioner at this establishment are very sweet. But, the billing department is nasty, printing off my bill and the same day, called me and demanded their money. Just this past Friday, they called me before they even sent me the bill, demanding their money and told me that my daughter could not come back until I paid the bill. We went to Cooper Pediatrics after leaving Pediatric Associates of North Atlanta because of a lot of positive reviews. Our experience is certainly not all negative, but we are no longer patients at Cooper either. The office is very nice, my son always loved the huge fish tank. Our first office visit, Dr Cooper saw us and spent a lot of time talking to us and our son. We were very encouraged. That turned out to be a fluke. The second time we saw Dr Cooper and were notably rushed through our questions. The third time, we saw a NP (who we really liked!) - and he was not rushed. After that we were tricked into a followup visit, and because I was already feeling lukewarm on Dr Cooper, and REALLY didn't like the tactic they were using to generate additional business from well children, we decided to stop going to Cooper altogether. To be fair, I can't find a doctor who doesn't use the followup to routine situations as a way to fill their schedule, but as I have a high copay and a healthy kid...well this is the second time we've switched doctors for that. read more

Both of my son's are patient's of Dr Cooper. The staff has been wonderful through the years and have always treated us with respect and listened to our concerns. I've been taking my two kids to Cooper Pediatrics for years. It's definitely gotten busier now and my wait time for appointments are getting longer and longer. At least 30+ minutes in the waiting room then another 30-45 minutes of waiting around after getting checked into the exam room. Plus, I always check to make sure my appointments are with the NP's Ryan or Susan, and NOT with Dr. Cooper. I've only seen him a handful of times but I always feel rushed and questions aren't answered in detail. He once prescribed amoxicillin to my 3 year old daughter who is allergic to penicillin!! Good thing the pharmacist caught that and confirmed with me before filling the prescription. I'm thinking of changing to a different pediatrician. The only reason why this review is a 3 star and not a 1 is because of the NP's that I love and the fish tank my daughter looks forward to seeing when we're there. read more

Both my children were patients at Cooper Pediatrics for two years. We were satisfied with the care but recently relocated. Cooper's office charged me $25 per child to transfer their records. I had to pay them $50 just to fax a few pages. We move around often and this is the only office that I have ever been charged for a transfer of records. read more

Went in for a scheduled annual wellness check for my son. Besides having to wait a very long time to get the appointment, had to wait forever in the waiting room to see a doctor. Pediatrician was nice and competent. BE WARNED . The doctor will ask how you child is doing. DO NOT answer him, otherwise this will be outside the scope of the wellness visit, and you will be charged an additional fee. Upon checking out, I was informed that I had occurred an additional fee because I had disclosed to him that my child had a skin condition. This was being treated by our dermatologist, and Dr. Cooper had nothing to do with it. A week later I received the bill in the mail saying I owed them for this additional service. I also noticed they charged my insurance for a service they did not perform. The billing dept. was very rude and refused to discuss the matter with me. Instead they sent me a certified letter saying they refuse to care for my children ever again. My children had been going there for 15 years, and this is how they treat me. This practice has changed alot over that time, and now all they care about is taking every dollar from the insurance and patients. Dont make the same mistake I did. Find another practice to take your children to, one that cares about them and not the money. read more

My son had fever/chest pain/headache/muscle soreness last Tuesday so I took him to Cooper Pediatrics. I told the doctor that I was worried if he got the flu and I asked if tests can be done. However after the routine checkup process of taking the temperature and looking at ears/throat the doctor said no test needed because my son only got a common cold, which tylenol/ibuprofen should work. I was told to call back and to come back if fever still up in the following days. I did everything I was asked to do by the doctor, including calling the nurse the next morning because my son still got the same symptom. The nurse told me I didn't need to be seen by the doctor. I took his advice but later in the afternoon my son said he didn't feel well. So I called Cooper Pediatrics at 3:25 PM, asking to be seen by a doctor the same afternoon. The receptionist was courteous, saying she can't take anybody in if the request was made after 3:30 PM (they close at 5 PM). At the time I had no choice but taking my son to an urgent care, where a flu test and XRay were done immediately. My son had caught a flu and pneumonia, which Cooper Pediatrics failed to diagnose. I have been bringing my kids there for 5 years now and always had a good experience especially with the NPs Ryan and Susan who are great and always have time to explain and answer questions, but lately their waiting time is getting too long because they are overbooking and my last appointment was really frustrating, it started with a md student who came in the room and introduces herself which was fine but then she started to check my 1 y/o without a permission! Then I had to wait for an hour to see the pediatrician and when I asked at the nursing station what's taking so long I got an " sorry , everybody are waiting for a long time, there is nothing we can do about it" . My kids have been patients of doctor Coopers for 8 years. The environment is kid friendly however, throughout the years the staff are not personable and not inviting. Seems as though they're just there to get a paycheck. If there are any discrepancies with your insurance even if you have active coverage they will NOT see your child. I had an issue with my sons insurance where in their system it's showing a different insurance company but he still had active coverage. I spoke with the front desk/billing rep Rebecca and she instructed me on what do. After I provided the information she requested to get the discrepancy removed she still informed me that my son couldn't be seen and that I would need to wait until tomorrow when it clears. Keep in mind my son has been sick and have been taking him to the ER. They keep advising that I follow up with his primary physician and when I try to schedule an appointment with them they keep denying to see him because of this on going issues. I am so frustrated with Cooper Pediatrics and don't seem To care about their patients health. You would think some kind of arrangement could have been made since he's been his patients for years. My two young children have been going to Cooper Pediatric for the past three years. I was attracted to it because of the convenient location, child friendly decor and the ability to make appts at a moments notice. Unfortunately, we decided to leave the practice because the negatives began to outweigh the positives. Specifically annoying was the long wait times before seeing the doctor, nurses not returning my phone calls in a reasonable amount of time (I leave a message at 1:00pm and don't get a call back until the next business day) and the excessive fees (school forms, nurse helpline, etc.) and last but not least the 90 second consultation we get from Dr. Cooper. Not much face time with him at all. After having a better customer experience elsewhere, we decided not to return to Coopers. read more
