The Vietnamese food is decent, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who lives in an area with one of the biggest Vietnamese population outside of Vietnam. The spring rolls are great. I love the bun bo hue, bo luc lac and rice plates. I did detect some MSG in the broth, but not excessively. Pretty decent Vietnamese food in the Brisbane area.

This was the first place we tried and we have never looked back (or to any other suburb), so there are many fond memories attached. This place is always full, so before you are even seated you know it has to be good. My favourite dish is the won ton noodle soup. The won tons are absolutely delicious and it just seems too good to be true to be spoiled with such yummy noodle soup as well. In the tradition of a lot of the restaurants in this area the servings are enormous and cheap. The huge bowls of won ton noodle soup are only $10. It's not a sophisticated dining experience, but if you love Asian food and a casual setting I highly recommend it.

It's so fragrant and has a dipping sauce of sweet fish sauce yum! - I also love the Vietnamese rice vermicelli salad (with lemongrass pork as well) - $2.50 salty egg! Drool. It's great with some rice and BBQ meats (they sell BBQ pork, roast pork and roast duck) - Food normally comes out in less than 20 mins but on a couple of occasions, a dish took a while and when you ask for it, they'll just say it's coming (and it does, after another ten minutes)

Our combination noodle salad was delicious, but we really didn't like the special crab starch noodle. We obviously ordered the wrong thing. Garden City and their new Town Square dining precinct have you covered. I was all set to keep to my usual stop at Motto Motto until I was assured I'd not regret a visit to dine at PH by Pho Hung (directly opposite the geometric prints of Motto Motto). I think my secret source knew her stuff. Set amongst clean white walls with black illustrations and yellow accents, PH is a more modern version of their well-known Sunnybank restaurant. Despite it's location they're serving a reasonably full sit-in menu with a few take-away options. Their tagline: "Vietnamese delight authentic food" rings true as each meal is made to order. Once sat by the friendly staff I opted for the beef wrapped in betel leaves and a grilled prawn vermicelli salad bowl. Note to self: you don't need anything else when ordering the salad bowl. These are huge and I'd dare to say enough for two and their special fish sauce is the star of the dish. If you're a fan of fresh flavours, fast and friendly service and a meal that leaves you feeling satisfied and full of health -- PH is your bet in this neck of the woods.
