A nice park in Clearview easy parking always some birds to see today I saw a yellow-winged blackbirds, a few mallards a white egret some redheaded woodpeckers. It's also an easy launching area for kayaks or paddle boards and with parking being so easy it could be a really nice spot but also a good spot just to walk.

This park is small but the perfect spot to launch your kayak or start your run, walk, or bike ride on the Ream Wilson Trail. There is also a Vita Course 2000 set up throughout the park and you can easily do a quick circuit workout there. There is a small pond with a nice fountain but, as with every pond or lake in Florida, watch out for gators! In one direction, this park is about a mile and half from downtown Safety Harbor. In the other direction, it's about a mile and half from the Courtney Campbell trail. There is also a water fountain and misting station which is a lifesaver on hot days!!

When I first turned in I went to the wrong parking lot and saw tennis courts, basketball courts, and a playground. Moving back I saw dog parks, a zip line course, and then a huge lake. I've actually done the zipline course before and enjoyed it. You can do paddleboard tours with Upper Tampa Bay Paddle Sports. I bet you can even bring your own kayak or paddleboard and go into the lake. I saw a sign at one of the dog parks that said for smaller dogs. I don't own a dog, but I imagine that owners of small dogs would appreciate that. This park seems well taken care of and it is nice to know there is a kayaking lake so close to home. I'll definitely come back!

The park is open until dusk (as posted that the gates close then) and there is lots to the area. I went at around dusk and saw some beautiful views of the water. The park area is very clean and obviously well taken care of. Parking is free and although the driveway into the park is paved, you will most likely be parking on grass that has a dip to it. My friends and I enjoyed roaming the area and exploring what the park has to offer.

The nature center has a bathroom and a bit of information, but all the displays were empty, including the outdoor one that allegedly used to have a tortoise. The center is currently closed due to Covid but the bathrooms are open. From what I could tell, on our mad dash to the bathroom and distance viewing, the displays are informative and well done. I'd love to return when it is safe to and take a look. The park has three trails that are part of the spree. We hiked the Bobcat Trail since it includes the boardwalk. The trail travels for about a half mile through trees and over dusty shells. Then it connects to the boardwalk. This was by far the best part. We walked along the beautiful, tree lined water, getting up close and personal with a bunch of small black crabs. We scanned the water for manatees but were not lucky to find any. The trail ends back at the nature center. We climbed the back steps to the top level and caught a great view of the river and the distant city. After the hike we hit up the playground for a few minutes. This is always my kids' favorite part. We also stopped off at the butterfly garden which was pretty active on this day. The park was in great shape, the bathrooms were clean, there were lots of people around doing various park things. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature hunting and playing on the playground are just some of the things available at your fingertips here. So glad we visited! Can't wait to return to check out the other trails.

The trails are well maintained and easy to walk, making it perfect for a relaxing stroll. Surrounded by native plants and shady trees, it feels like a little escape from the busier spots nearby. There's just enough nature here to make it interesting without being overwhelming, and it's great for spotting birds and enjoying some quiet time. What I really appreciated was how calm and uncrowded it felt. It's not one of those packed parks it's more of a low-key spot where you can clear your head, take a walk, and just enjoy being outside. Everything was clean and well cared for, which always makes a difference. If you're in the Safety Harbor area and looking for a peaceful place to walk or unwind, Foley Nature Preserve is definitely worth checking out. Please check the hours for the animals since there are professional hosts to help the animals and yourself enjoy the experience. Plus, it's all 100% free thanks to the family that donated this huge property to the city, the city of Safety Harbor and the many Safety Harbor Garden Club volunteers. How do I know all this? Well, I started volunteering for the Safety Harbor Garden Club two years ago. It's a great group of folks who enjoy being outdoors, enjoy gardening, are incredibly knowledgeable, are willing to share their time, expertise and passion, and have contributed so much to this park as well as another! Life is great when you volunteer and help make a positive impact in your local community!

We had the pleasure of attending this park for the first time via invitation to a 6 year olds birthday party! North City Park has 3 different age levels of kids playground equipment including 8 slides, 2 rock climbing walls, 3 kinds of swings, 1 large covered picnic shelter with 6 tables for parties, 1 basketball court, a multi-purpose field with 2 back stops, 2 tennis courts, 1 horseshoe pit, and surprisingly clean restrooms. North City Park has a nice walking trail that winds across the park's whopping 9 acres. There is a mini public library stand with the "take a book, leave a book" option. There is plenty of parking and lots of trees that provide patrons with plenty of shade. North City Park's facilities managed to keep over 25 5 year olds and 6 year olds entertained and moving around for over a half hour without surfing YouTube on their tablets, so I have to say the park was a success! If you're in the Safety Harbor area and looking for a nice playground, to play basketball, to play pickleball, or to play tennis, I recommend that you check out North City Park!
