Revisiting this park after a few years, while in the area again. Sad to see the many tree stumps, remnants of trees that didn't survive the hurricane a couple years ago. For that reason there's less shade in the park, but otherwise it is well maintained and restored as much as possible. There is the historic spring, that was once a paid attraction in the area, but now the park is totally free. Usually there is an abundance of fishes near the circular spring. We enjoy walking along the trail. There's an observation tower that gives a nice view of the area, plus seveal decks to admire the Gulf. To the right side of the entrance there's a other trail, longer and more for bicycles, that takes you along the paved road to another observation deck. As walker I prefer the other trail, more natural, better shades, and less hot than walking on asphalt. There is a butterfly garden, and a little free library as well, near the parking lot. read more

What an incredible park. No fee. Plenty of parking. Great trails, boardwalks and a magnificent tower about four stores high. There is a spring and plenty of wildlife. We were fascinated by numerous jumping fish launching themselves out of the water over and over again. They do close a few minutes after sunset so it is difficult to watch this from the tower and get back to the car before they close for the night. A park ranger was coming out to clear people out before the sunset. Not sure this is a daily occurrence but was on the Sunday night we were there. Park is pretty clean. Trash cans are emptied. Need some more signs showing where the trails are located. When you park by the main bathroom there is nothing telling you where to go for trails. Cute butterfly garden that could use a tiny bit of care and surprisingly had no live butterflies around it. The spring has several signs around it that explain it's history and made this more interesting. Look for the female silhouette in the bottom of the spring. There is a sign that helps you see it. Numerous picnic areas. They are rolling out a new reservation system but it was down for a week. The Pinellas Trail connects right to the park and several spots had bike racks. Only thing that was frustrating was numerous visitors not following signs for "no dogs" especially in the tower where leashes get in the way on small walkways. The sign right on the boardwalk leading to the tower clearly indicates no dogs so why do you feel entitled to walk your dogs up and down the tower? Hopefully no dogs peeing through wood slats down on people below. Definitely be back to this park when in the Sponge Docks area. The beauty is so evident here... There are some sections that smell like sulfur probably due to decaying swamp material but this is nature! read more

Wall Springs Park is awesome from the decorative huge front gate to the fish to the great water views. I liked how there were several piers to fish from so no need to crowd people. The viewing platform had an amazing view over the wtaer and was fun the walk up. There were stairs and a ramp. The trails were paved and you can't get lost. My favorite part of the park are the benches sculpted out of fencing looking like fish. Nice touch. Park has plenty of free parking, clean bathrooms, and is directly off the Pinellas Trail. Can't beat that. read more

As far as parks go, it's a decent one to walk in. It's got a nice little play area for parents to let their children hang around, and at least two Park trails for people to walk down. If you bike and are around Tarpon, you can actually enter from the Pinellas Trail if you head south on it. The first one is your standard walk around the wetlands area with a sidewalk that loops around the place...The bridge leading to it is actually really nice and you can see some neat homes from there. Only issue I really got is the rickety wooden tower, which, aside from being full of webs and hornets, is very questionable in terms of safety. Still a nice view but I'd be careful going up there. The second one, which is directly near the Pinellas trail entrance/exit, is actually the most memorable. this one is a much more nature themed walk, which has a bit of a curvy sidewalk, but at least in some pretty nice stuff like a little picnic area with the bathroom near Wai Lani Rd, and even wilderness trails behind the bathroom area for those intrepid enough to do it. however, the best part of the second park trail is the scenic oceanside view you get at the very end. there's even a fishing area that you can go to right across from it. Overall, it genuinely is a nice little park to come to whether you're just there to have a picnic, or let your kids play, or even do a little bit of walking. read more

One of the nicest city parks I've ever been into. The only one I can compare it to for quality is Central Park, New York. Although it's a lot different! Wall Springs Park has beautiful walks nice services, a wide variety of birds, fish, and even tortoises! You can walk on paved paths or you can walk through the mango Grove on sand paths. Wall Springs Park is right along the Pinellas trail and has a fancy gate that closes at sunset. Several fishing piers, lots of birds and lizards, trails with decent bathrooms, a huge viewing platform several stories high, and lots of parking. I really like this park despite the homeless guy taking up residence in one of the pavilions. read more

I mainly was looking for a park with some sort of shade over the play ground for my son to go play. Found it. It's located right at the entrance, it is good. Just wish other parents would watch their kids, my sons autistic and non verbal so you know that goes; but the park has no control of that. We also ventured on the trail to see the big wooden tower structure. The trail it self wasn't bad it did feel a bit eerie. It's so quiet there and not much people around I feel like if we saw a gator on the trail, it would be over, no one's around. I wish there was some sort of seating on top of the tower. There are reserved seating areas on the trail, but honestly they are so close to the shrubs and trees. Look like one of your kids might just get snatched up by a gator and dragged within seconds. read more

I love wall Springs Park. Such a gem! Right by the Pinellas Trail so a great starting point for biking or walking. The park itself has so much to offer. Lots of picnic tables with shade for eating and get togethers. A fun playground for the kids. It also has a neat little boardwalk to walk around the freshwater Spring that back in the day was an old-time resort. And then there's another dog friendly (on a leash) walking trail that goes out to the Gulf of Mexico/Saint Joseph Sound. I've been here a couple times before because it is a beautiful park. It is kind of off the beaten path because it is off Alt 19, but it is also along the Pinellas Trail so plenty of people on bikes also stop by. When I went today it was very busy with walkers of all ages and families on bikes and roller skates. However, I was still able to be distant enough from everyone. In the heavy traffic areas, like around the spring, I put on my mask and others did as well. The walking path is about a mile, so it is doable for most people. There are large oak and pine trees that provide some shade and along the path, there are really cool sculptural benches, regular benches, and a really cool observation tower that has both stairs and a ramp all the way to the top so disabled people in wheelchairs and scooters can go to the top too. There are also several picnic pavilions, several fishing piers, a playground, a butterfly garden, One more important thing, there are restrooms at the front and back of the park's walking path. The first time I came to this park my husband and I spent time reading all the little historic markers around the spring and it was really interesting. You can also see a lot of fish in that area. Today I saw a woodpecker but was unable to get a good picture. This park is free to visit and a good place to spend a few hours. read more

Ok, y'all. How have I lived in this county for years and never been here? Trust me, if you check it out, you will feel exactly the same. This park has a lot of history stemming from 1905 when the natural spring was converted into a recreational fresh water pool that became a tourist destination. Since the 60's or 70's, it has been restored very much to its natural state with some of the unique vestiges of its past. Sorry, no swimming anymore, and yes, I'm sad about it too! But, it's great that nature can have its swimming hole back. Upon entry, you'll notice a beautiful little butterfly garden and covered playground. Keep walking and you'll hit the historic spring. Keep going even further and you're on a freshly paved trail through the forest, over bridges and experiencing real Florida. After we walked to each of the fishing piers, we noticed a humongous tower that's a few flights above the trees. It looks like a castle! What's even more amazing: the whole park, INCLUDING THE TOWER, is handicap accessible!!! Walk to the top and you'll see the most beautiful, sweeping views. We vowed to come back when the weather is cooler to picnic on the top tier at sunset. All you need is a little blanket and snacks to make this absolutely dreamy! read more

I think I may have been the last to know that we had a natural spring this far down south... I thought they were all up north further in the Crystal River area. Hmm see what a little research can do for ya? Wall Springs Park is yet again, another little gem that I didn't know I lived so close by. They have boardwalks that take you out over the water in a few spots and right now the park is getting work done so you can see a new one being done. I love when you see our City/County/State parks being worked on and improved. From some of the signs at the park, you can read that this use to be "the spot" back in the day when the springs were more active or there were just less places to hang out. If you bike, this park is also along the Pinellas Trail so you can make it a pit stop if needed. They have clean bathrooms and you can take in the views while you cool down. read more

This park is SO cool. I cannot believe I grew up in Palm Harbor and did not know about this until recently. It has an area that used to be a spring that people could swim in years and years ago. You can no longer swim here, but it is really beautiful to look at. The area has a variety of fish and other creatures swimming around. There are historic signs that show old postcards of what it used to be like. The park has several boardwalks that overlook the beautiful Gulf inlet. There are walking trails (it is also right off of the Pinellas Trail if you need to walk even more). It also has these artistic (mostly metal) benches that are variations of marine animals spread throughout the park. There are bathrooms and picnic areas. Old, beautiful trees. Plenty of water. There is a really nice butterfly garden. A large children's playground. One of my absolute favorite things is the massive lookout tower. It is the only tower that I remember encountering that has a wheelchair ramp. ALL THE WAY UP. So cool! It makes for a beautiful tower too. It almost looks medieval with the large wooden beams and the metal bolts. The view at the top is beautiful. It is not really right on the water, but you can see the water from there. This is a very unique and fun park. When my Dad was in town, I was taking him to a lot of parks and this one was towards the top of the list. It has things that other parks do not. If you have never been here, I highly recommend planning a visit. read more

This is a Pinellas County park that has a little bit of everything to accommodate a wide variety of people. There is plenty of paved parking spots.. There are picnic tables and picnic pavilions galore through out the park. Artistic beanches for rest and contemplation. There are paved trails perfect for casual walkers, dog walkers, serious hikers, bikers, skateboarders, skaters and handicapped scooters or wheelchairs. They have a large playground beside the clean bathrooms. There are fishing piers as well as boardwalks to view the spring, bayous and waterways and a beautiful new, handicapped accessible observation tower to view the landscape of the park. read more

This appears to be a delightful park for young and old! The playground was a busy place, with lots of children enjoying themselves. We were in one of the picnic shelters for a volunteer lunch, and it was great! We had the grill for burgers and hot dogs, with enough picnic tables for everyone to spread out everything they brought to share to eat, and more room to sit and eat. We had a large garbage can and recycling can for our trash and recyclables. The bathrooms were reasonably clean, with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. At some county parks, we've had to bring our own. The toilets also flush themselves. I enjoyed watching the butterflies in the butterfly garden. Some in our party walked the paths, which they said were easy & enjoyable. We will definitely come back to walk, smell the flowers, & enjoy this park. read more

Check out the Wall Springs Addition. New addition to Wall Springs accessible from the Pinellas Trail and main parking area. Look for the side path by the Sundial on north side of entrance. Accessible by paved walking trail from main parking area or has Separate parking area and restrooms. Much less chaotic on a busy day. A bit of a walk from main areas if with younger children. Saw a few families head back. Amenities in new area include restrooms, covered picnic area, 1.5 mile unpaved walking trail in the woods and a 1 mile concrete paved bike and pedestrian trail to the Gulf. Elevated, covered viewing deck is worth the walking distance to enjoy views of the Gulf and Tarpon Springs to the north. read more

Beautiful park. Mostly foot traffic, but it's a short trail so not great for exercise unless you want to go in circles (which I saw several joggers doing). Several fishing piers toward the back of the trail. No fishing permitted in the springs, Which are filled with beautiful fish, turtles, ducks, and other wildlife. Lovely children's park near the front restrooms. Lots of parking, lots of friendly faces. Closes at sunset, but if you're already here, you'll still be able to exit if you're a little slow getting back to your car. read more

This is another nice park to take a walk. There are plenty of trails and a well kept butterfly garden with a nice assortment of labeled native plants. It's a little too manicured for my taste since I prefer wild nature but it's still worth a visit. Life is good when you can enjoy the outdoors! read more

Wall Springs park has become my new favorite park of all times! This place is absolutely beautiful, jam packed with places to walk and things to visit and see. The Playground is suitable for all children, I like that they have it divided for younger and older kids. The trails are great if you're into hiking and of course it's right off the Pinellas Trail so you can bike or what have you with ease. The backstory behind Wall Springs park is pretty cool too. Apparently Mr Wall owned the place at the turn of the 1900's and had people come here to soothe the aches and pains in the mineral springs. People did that up until the 1950's and 60's. In 1988, the city of Palm Harbor bought it and began preserving it. The Tower is especially wonderful as it is fully accessible with a wheelchair ramp for all three stories. in fact all their docks are ramps so that everyone can enjoy the Florida natural view. The parkinglot is exemplary, it's huge so there is no reason to fight over spaces, and both restrooms are clean and tidy. read more

Free park. Free parking. Nature at its best. I am not sure what people would deduct any stars for at this place. I adore the natural part of Pinellas County which I think of as one large city very populated, congested, but then you have this natural spring right on the gulf and the hustle and bustle goes away. It is the clearest water for many many miles. You can literally see the fish and identify that this is a mullet. This is a mangrove snapper. Etc Easy parking. Nice little walking and fishing area. This is a great park! They have a something for everyone. They have a playground for the kids that is completely covered so they aren't roasting in the sun. The trails are all paved so you can take a wheelchair or stroller easily. Even the lookout has ramps so you can easily access the tower. There is a shorter loop but then they also have a longer portion that connects to their new second parking lot. Perfect area to go in the early morning or evening as the trails are pretty shaded. read more

I've heard a lot about this park but never had the chance to stop in and see it until today. Wall Springs Park has ample parking, restrooms, playgrounds, fishing piers, pavillions, a huge observation tower and is right next to the pinellas trail. The majority of Wall Springs has paved walkways for patrons to walk on. The sidewalk goes past piers, pavillions and restrooms and over a boardwalk type bridge. It's a perfect place to go on a stroll without trecking through the woods. I saw many people walking dogs, bird watching and looking at several crystal clear bodies of water at the park. I thought the observation tower was a neat addition to the park. Its huge compared to other parks I've been to. The tower is three stories and has a handicap accessible ramp to reach the top. The deck of the tower is much larger than the typical parking space size I'm used to and is compareable to a large outside porch with lots of room to look around making it comfortable even with other people there. Decorative benchs with fish designs can be seen throughout the park nice along with a creative overhang at the entrance of the tower. I didn't stay at Wall Springs too long but saw several birds flying around including an Osprey. I noticed a few very short side trails off the main path. The main walkway had quite a few people on it for a weekday afternoon and seemed to get congested at times. read more

This is an AMAZING park! I was iffy about taking my toddler here alone, while on visiting my husband for work, BUT I am so happy I did! This is a hidden gem! I felt very safe! Amazing walking trails that show you a true, crystal clear Florida spring (you are not allowed to swim in it)! The park itself is HUGE! They have a big playground and then a smaller one for toddlers! Plenty of shade, picnic tables and they have a butterfly garden! It does get hot so bring water and sunscreen! I was able to use my stroller the entire time on the walking trails except for the high view of the water with stairs (not a big deal for me)! read more

Wall Springs Park is a very enjoyable park. It has several picnic tables and pavilions. The Pinellas Trail, a linear park, also goes right by the entrance of Wall Springs Park. A very good place for a stroll and for the kids. Wide, paved trails, good for walking and even pushing a stroller. Plenty of benches, a couple of nice fishing piers. The observation tower is closed for reconstruction as it burned a couple of years ago. Very nice restroom facilities. There are a few unique benches along the walk. read more

Lovely butterfly garden! I fell in love with passiflora while I was walking by at this park, and now I have my own! Lots of parking, and you can't get lost at this park. There's a really cool fort, newly built, with a great view. Some weird benches strewn about the loop in the back, and the springs are fun to see. Lots of fish and potential opportunity for seeing porpoises. You can fish at some of the spots. Not somewhere I'd want to spend all day, but a nice stroll. read more

We walked the trails of Wall spring to see the new tower. It has cool artsy benches along the trails. It has shelters, some you can reserve in advance. The old tower definitely was cooler looking but it burned down. The replacement is very " sturdy " looking. It is built to last and is to ADA standards. It was nice taking the ramps up to the top. There are stairs for those who want to go up quickly. 4 stars instead of 5 because there are no benches in the tower to sit and enjoy the view. This place is a must in a tour of Palm Harbor. read more

Not exactly what I'd call a phenomenal part, but it is definitely a different type of Park. It's small and it's directly off the Pinellas Trail so it attracts a lot of bikers. Is a small area with playground equipment for small children and of course restrooms. Somewhere in the middle in the back there is a long dock that goes out into the Gulf of Mexico. How can anything be that bad if it's got some Waterview to it? We all need to keep that child alive & well within us, no matter the physical age. What's a girl to do?
