This is our Plan B! Normally with groups that are fairly established it's quite hard to get involved, especially when you don't go that often, but we've always been made welcome. My son enjoys playing with the toys provided, and has a really good time during the songs and stories. It makes a nice change to do something like this, rather than going to Hickory Dickories, or somewhere similar. If you have little ones, I'd recommend this one.

One of the new mums who I spoke to today said "It had a really lovely community feel and people had made a real effort to chat to her" which is lovely, and the way it should be. There are always great cakes available, and plenty to play with, as well as singing and story activities. The parents are welcomed (there are quite a few dads who go as well, so its not all about yummy mummies sitting around gossiping) and the little ones have plenty to occupy them. There is one large room which is great for large classes and there was more than enough room when I tried zumba to ensure that I did not bump in to anyone else. There are activities taking place in the hall most days of the week so you're likely to find something of interest going on. There is a smaller room although this has a dividing wall that can be pulled back to create one large space. However, as this is not a permanent wall you may find that you can hear what is going on in the next room. The smaller room is a great size for meetings. There is also a kitchen which can be used if you have hired the hall for family parties, etc. Overall, Darwin Hall is a great space that is clean and modern for the local community. As it's a modern building, it's not draughty and a well designed space.

The nursery is housed in an old farm house building and its been converted really well. Its run by an excellent team of dedicated staff and they have had really strong OFSTED reports. They will give advice and honest feedback, and are willing to go that extra mile to organise out of hours events in their own time (plays, sports days etc,.) His favourite activity was playing outside in the huge (enclosed) gardens. Other play activities included singing, reading corner, computer time, use of musical instruments, messy play, craft time and free play. The meals are freshly cooked and vary constantly, breakfast, luch and a cooked dinner are included along with all drinks and snacks. Jordan has really fond memories of Happy Tots and I would reccomend it to anyone. The age range is supposed to be 0-5 years but they were very accomodating in still letting my son attend in school holidays right up until he was 6 as this really helped me out. I am not sure what the cost is currently - but what price can you put on a safe, stimulating and loving environment for your child? It always represented good value to me. I fully intend to use this nursery again for my daughter when I do decide to venture back to the world of work..... but for now I am happy with nappies and 2 am feeds!

I sometimes take my friend's toddler there and she absolutely loves it. It's run by British Gymnastics coaches and there are various developmental focuses behind all the flinging around of small bodies (that is, the kids flinging themselves around - the coaches are not flinging any small children, I hasten to add) but the greatest thing about it is simply that the kids have a brilliant time, while getting some really good exercise. I have to say, I get immensely jealous as I watch the little ones on their mini trampolines, beams and apparatus (it's really well-equipped, and everything is in miniature, which is awesome). I'm not sure I ever got to enjoy a gymnasium this well equipped in either my childhood or adult life!
