Initially, I was filled with hope when I first became a Coosa Dental Associates customer. However, my optimism was gradually eroded over the last 12 months as I found myself disappointed on multiple occasions. I feel compelled to share my experience as a cautionary tale, urging others to consider alternative dental care options. After receiving a cleaning and X-rays in 2023, I scheduled two appointments for additional work and requested nitrous oxide, as they advertise it is available upon request. Despite noting my request for nitrous oxide for these appointments, I arrived at the first appointment to find their system was malfunctioning due to a leak. I reluctantly proceeded with the appointment as I had already taken time off work. At my next appointment a few weeks later, the nitrous oxide system was still not operational. No one had bothered to inform me beforehand, leaving me to endure another uncomfortable session. To this day, they have not demonstrated their ability to administer nitrous oxide, contrary to their advertisements. This lack of concern for patient comfort and failure to maintain necessary equipment was troubling. However, my hygienist was nice, so I gave them another chance. I expressed interest in getting Invisalign retainers, and the dentist performed a scan, assuring me the front office would check my insurance coverage and reach out with my out-of-pocket costs so they could order the retainers. Despite my knowledge that my insurance offered adult orthodontic coverage, the front office repeatedly failed to follow through. Each inquiry as to what my costs were or if we could move forward felt like starting over, and I never received a definitive answer or the Invisalign retainers. At the turn of 2024, my insurance changed, and I provided my new coverage details to the front office by email in January. During my regular cleaning in mid-May 2024, I confirmed my insurance details again at check-in. Unbeknownst to me, the office had determined in January that they were no longer in my network. Despite this, they performed services without informing me, resulting in a $180 bill for the cleaning that should have been covered. The front office acknowledged their awareness of being out-of-network since January but failed to inform me either then or at my appointment in May. When I expressed my surprise and confusion, I faced a series of inconsistent and unhelpful responses from the front office over 15 calls. Some apologized, admitting they should have informed me, while others dismissed my concerns, claiming it wasn't their job to notify me of network status. The disorganized and contradictory communication was frustrating and unprofessional. I ultimately paid the bill, which I could have avoided had they informed me of their network status. When I voiced my disappointment with their dental practice, the response I received was dismissive and indifferent, highlighting their disregard for patient satisfaction. Therefore, I write this review to warn others of Coosa Dental Associates poor administration and lack of regard for patient comfort, and the financial impact that the mismanagement of their front office has on patients.
