Davis Agnor Rapaport & Skalny - Angela Grau of Davis, Agnor, Rappaport, Scalny exploitated vulnerable, grieving widow, billed credit card w/o knowledge or consent $10,000

    Davis Agnor Rapaport & Skalny

Angela Grau never sends for the comprehensive police report. Instead she sends letters that do not require a response without filing a lawsuit. This is useless and costly. Once the hours are wasted sending duplicate letters while talking about the weather, Megan, Ms. Grau's assistant, with a New Hampshire area code, though the office is in Maryland (?), requests an additional $5000.00 to schedule the remote deposition. This never happens. Instead Megan leaves a voicemail, "Angela said age is not an excuse." The victim, in her late 80's, who had recently had a blood transfusion could not make the 8-1/2 trip at the time. Ms. Grau threatened either the client = victim appear or Ms. Grau will withdraw from representation. As it was not possible to appear Ms. Grau withdrew and kept $10,000. What was not known at the time is that Megan requested the credit card information from someone other than the elderly client though it must be authorized by the owner of the credit card. Although the credit card company is required to investigate such a claim and provide protections against liability of unauthorized charges, an employee named Mr. Hightower responds to the credit card company with false billing while claiming the charges were authorized by the client/ victim. If there was an award for fraudulent practices and exploitation, Davis, Rapaport, Davis, Scalny and Grau (an unnamed partner) would be in the running for first place. Tragically, the victim/client passed away without ever as much as knowing who she was listening to, as she only heard Ms. Grau's voice through a poor telephone connection while hearing impaired. Ms. Grau refused to meet online so that the victim would be provided an opportunity to see who charged $10,000- to her credit card. Angela Grau spoke with an an attorney in another state who was also bilking the elderly widow of her life's savings. Together they caused great harm. This behavior is not only unethical, it constitutes financial exploitation of a vulnerable elderly individual. The loss of life under such circumstances is unforgivable. The only hope is that a thorough investigation into Angela Grau and her office's practices may ensure such exploitation does not happen to anyone else.

I started working with his paralegal, Jennifer Burgess-Smith, on the first request with no deadline from my side. Weeks later, I had an emergency out of nowhere and reached out mid-morning to ask for a same-day turnaround. In a few hours, Jennifer sent back a flawless, polished contract, information and guidance for my open questions, and stayed on through 9PM monitoring email for follow-on questions. Absolutely incredible!! So grateful for their help and customer service

I had significant issues with their legal drafting quality, responsiveness, and preparation. The final straw for me was waiting nearly a month for answers to basic questions - only to receive a reply from the lawyer that appeared to be in ChatGPT response format, that restated the questions and offered no answers. The whole process with them was a massive waste of time, and I ultimately had to terminate the relationship because I was not comfortable signing any document they had drafted. If you are looking for a responsive legal team that is willing to thoroughly explain the legal implications of documents they draft before you sign them, this is NOT the right office for you.
