Izzy after they fixed her knee cap!
    Linda Q.

Our little girl hurt her back leg a couple of days earlier and we decided to take her here. Dr Katya Weikel quickly diagnosed a displaced knee cap. The doctor and vet techs worked on her and got it back in place quickly! We were visiting the area and are so thankful they took walk-ins. Very nice staff, quick service and we left with a happy dog! Thank you Copper Basin Vet Clinic!

This is how I want him to look again and not have a look of misery

when I brought my 9.5 yr Cane Corso in for pain from Dental Periodontal Disease and him going through 3 surgeries in 7 months and the medication most vets in our area just want to prescribe trazadone and gabapentin which doesn't work for him because his other k9s have nerves showing and I explained to the vet what meds work for him and she said she was comfortable with prescribing him but she needed to do a IM anestesia and wouldn't be so hard on him beauties my concern of going through another surgery is the last one it took him days to recover and whe it came time to refill his meds they said they can't and that was for one time and basically said good luck. they owe me money and was exposed to call me when they got some gabapentin together and that was last week. the vet agreed to prescribe him the medication but after $400 they said no and that not caring and compassionate. I've had to get my own dr right me pain meds before because the lack of sympathy with these vets, Copper basin and Nottely oaks which did two surgeries in less than two w instead of doing all the first time. Dont make the mistakes I've made thinking these vets will keep their word and be caring and compassionate. if him drooling for hours and hours and soaks up multiple shower towels and moaning all night, shaking his head all the time and him just moaning is just torture to him and I. Hes my world and I'll do whatever it takes but I won't spend another dollar at either of these Vets. They just lie to you so easily!

Dr. Mitchell and his staff are the best that you can find.

We use Copper Basin for routine appointments and minor injuries. For anything serious, I recommend using Ocoee Animal Hospital instead.

My dog has sores all over and I informed the assistant that was why I was bringing him for diagnosis and that I had just given the dog Semperica Trio that was expired a couple days prior. The vet gave me more SempericaTrio and told me to give it to the dog and suggested a steroid shot for itching, which I declined due to dog not itching as much anymore. To make a long story short, I took the dog to Ocoee Animal Hospital for a second opinion and they did a swab of the sores to see it was yeast and found severe yeast infection in ears and in paws and precribed a series of antifungals and antibiotics and ear drops as it was systemic. I contacted Cohutta to let them know what was discovered by other vet and why they failed to properly diagnose and why on earth they told me to give dog a second dose of Semperica Trio immediately that would have been an overdose as I just gave him it two days prior and it was still good as I saw a dried tick on him. They continue to say that Semperica Trio is proper to treat yeast infections. I argued until I was blue in the face that Semperica TRIO does not cure ear and paw yeast infections. My common sense told me not to give dog a second dose of semperica TRIO as that could cause seizures, yet they still stand behind that as the remedy for all of this (Dr. Patterson to be specific). Unbelieveable. Ocoee Animal Hospital looked under a microscope and propely diagnosed the dog with me present, not in a back office that I could not see or even point out sores or talk to the doctor to show what was going on. Go to Ocoee if you want experienced and more personable vets where they inspect pet in front of you so you can clearly state what is going on. Cohutta is a joke and very dangerous for your dog.

At pickup I confronted them and said she didn't have fleas, you shouldn't have gave her anything and I wasn't paying for it. ($15 dollars) The owner proceeded to argue with me and said my husband authorize the meds, which was a lie. Then he said she had an infestation on her chin only. Not a flea anywhere else on the body. This is a10lb Yorkie, you would definitely see an infestation. I have 2 other dogs at home and we do NOT have any fleas. If one has them they all have them. After telling him (the owner) to get my dog I was finished discussing this he continued to harass me in the lobby. Very unprofessional and poor customer service. He might want to think about checking his EGO before he goes to work.

Ga area and now we have retired here. I met Dr. Kinsey when I purchased my horses and he was the only vet in this area that would travel to where the horses were at and do a pre-purchase check up. I had an issue with a horse last year , hoof issue. He again responded quickly and provided me with medication and treatment needed daily twice a day. Now we have sold all our horses. We are full time residents in Young Harris now and we will use him for our 3 dogs, German Shepherd, A Chowski, Husky-Chow mix and our older Terrier . He's efficient, knowledgeable and just a all around great vet.
