Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Another server came to replace our appetizer plates for dinner plates but seemed confused on how to do this (what?). We had to help her clear the table so she could put the plates out. Then we waited for half an hour, with no sign of food my husband went to the kitchen to find a server. Finally someone came to our table and asked us what we would like to order. We said we ordered over an hour ago. At this point the restaurant was packed. It appeared that they didn't have enough people working to have the restaurant run smoothly. 35 minutes later our mains began to trickle out. Our original server/ owner came out and said "Sorrry it's so so busy but I told you to tell me when you were ready for your mains." It was pretty sleazy because it was obvious he had set this up to be my fault. I told him "You disappeared for an hour how could I ask you?" He continued to apologize and then walk away. I didn't realize this place was in nightclub mode from 6pm. Loud music blaring from televisions which is fine, a million type of lights, a live flute player walking through the restaurant while the background music blared through the tvs. If you get overstimulated easily, this place is a nightmare for that. Some food was good, some wasn't. I don't remember because it was 6 weeks ago. I loved the seating area, we were in a booth. I don't recommend, would never go here ever again. It has so much potential but the poor service, untrained staff and little respect for their customers was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a really long time. They ruined my graduation dinner. Clearly the people who work there are Befikr and keep their diners in Fikrmand mode.

Another just average Indian restaurant but with a party vibes and pretty good service…read more So the food is overall 3/5. Nothing that is out of the world or exceptional. We tried happy hour - vegetarian momos, tikka chat as our appetizers both were average. Tikki chat was good considering other options in GTA but tikki was more like a cutlet, the portion however was huge. The presentation of the food was very good. For our drink hubby had a beer and I had mingotini mock-tail i loved my drink and the quality was exceptionally good. 5/5 there! For our mains he opted for Karahi chicken, it was spicy but fine and would rate 3/5. I opted for veg biryani which was a fancy pulaav not a biryani but it tasted good so 3/5. Again quantity was pretty huge so 5/5 there. What I loved about the restaurant was there vibes, and good service. In my experience it is generally bad service in Indian restaurants where you are served by students server with no training. This wasn't the case here. The servers and manager both were very hospitable and were keep a good check on you and your needs. So you can consider this place for a group party.

I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

I would like to thank Sheily who was so friendly and acted professionally when we did not like the cardamom chai as it has milk and did meet our expectations . She changed the chai with Earl Gray which was really tasty. The ambiance was nice and comfort. The chairs were comfortable and the employees were friendly.

Food 2/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 3/5 Food: Hubby & I both ordered the Mado Beef burger without cheese. It comes with fries & a salad. Originally I was going to order the Steak & Frites but found out that all their steaks are marinated in milk. Due to my allergies I couldn't have that. When the burger arrived hubby's burger was dripping with grease when he took a bite. My burger was dry but I didn't like the seasonings they put into the burger. Our fries were fine. Hubby didn't like his burger either. We didn't finish our burgers, which is unusual for us. For dessert we had the red velvet cake which was delicious. Service: We had a very friendly young lady who was our waitress. Unfortunately her service was absentminded at best. I had told her my allergy to dairy & immediately after wards she asked again: you have an allergy? I wonder if she wasn't listening to me or couldn't hear me. When we went to order dessert I asked if they had the chocolate lava cake. She said no. Then I asked if they had the red velvet cake. She said no. But hubby could see the display case behind me & saw red velvet cake there. He mentioned that to our server. She said: Where is my mind, oh yes we have red velvet cake. Both hubby & I were not impressed with the service. Ambiance: The decor is in blues, whites, and green pastel colours with medium wood tones. It looks okay. Not the prettiest place but also not a junky looking place. There is an outside entrance that leads to the parking lot. Some people came into the restaurant from that direction. Most of the people eating at the restaurant seemed to be muslim. I saw ladies in hijabs. Actually when we first came into the restaurant & were shown to a table some guys sitting nearby had their shoes off. That is a bit gross in my opionon. Overall I would say that I wouldn't come back here. I wasn't impressed with the service or the food. I can't eat any of the steaks also. We were only in Square One for a store that isn't anywhere else near us. If we go back to Square One I would try a different restaurant.

Their menu features a fantastic variety of dishes, including kebabs, wraps, salads, and appetizers, along with pasta, pizza, fresh pastries, and delicious desserts like baklava and their signature ice cream. We visited one afternoon and tried the wraps. It came with a small side of salad and fries. I had the Chicken Lavash wrap while my partner had the Beef Lavash. It was very good but with all honesty, you can find other places that serve delicious wraps at an affordable price. The baklava we had was okay buy I truly enjoyed the tea. This branch is spacious and beautiful and the service was fast. We will go back and try the kebabs next time at a location near us. It's at Square One so expect tons of parking spots.
