I tried their soy chicken drum sticks, kim chi, dumplings, siu mai, and radish cake. My absolute favourite and would recommend is the radish cake!! It is so good. The kim chi was off-putting and was drenched in whatever sauce. The dumplings are also really good as well. I like the layout and aesthetics of the restaurant. One thing to note also was that the employees just seemed miserable. I understand we came an hour before closing but they just seemed miserable and sort of ticked off that we were coming an hour before closing.

Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio

The service was also extremely slow and unorganized. What made the experience worse was the behavior of the restaurant manager. When we politely raised our concerns about the food and service, the manager responded very rudely and said they did not have enough staff. This is not something customers should have to hear as an excuse for poor service. We expected much better hospitality and food quality from a reputed restaurant. Overall, it was not worth the visit and we left very dissatisfied.

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

We tried happy hour - vegetarian momos, tikka chat as our appetizers both were average. Tikki chat was good considering other options in GTA but tikki was more like a cutlet, the portion however was huge. The presentation of the food was very good. For our drink hubby had a beer and I had mingotini mock-tail i loved my drink and the quality was exceptionally good. 5/5 there! For our mains he opted for Karahi chicken, it was spicy but fine and would rate 3/5. I opted for veg biryani which was a fancy pulaav not a biryani but it tasted good so 3/5. Again quantity was pretty huge so 5/5 there. What I loved about the restaurant was there vibes, and good service. In my experience it is generally bad service in Indian restaurants where you are served by students server with no training. This wasn't the case here. The servers and manager both were very hospitable and were keep a good check on you and your needs. So you can consider this place for a group party.

I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

Food 2/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 3/5 Food: Hubby & I both ordered the Mado Beef burger without cheese. It comes with fries & a salad. Originally I was going to order the Steak & Frites but found out that all their steaks are marinated in milk. Due to my allergies I couldn't have that. When the burger arrived hubby's burger was dripping with grease when he took a bite. My burger was dry but I didn't like the seasonings they put into the burger. Our fries were fine. Hubby didn't like his burger either. We didn't finish our burgers, which is unusual for us. For dessert we had the red velvet cake which was delicious. Service: We had a very friendly young lady who was our waitress. Unfortunately her service was absentminded at best. I had told her my allergy to dairy & immediately after wards she asked again: you have an allergy? I wonder if she wasn't listening to me or couldn't hear me. When we went to order dessert I asked if they had the chocolate lava cake. She said no. Then I asked if they had the red velvet cake. She said no. But hubby could see the display case behind me & saw red velvet cake there. He mentioned that to our server. She said: Where is my mind, oh yes we have red velvet cake. Both hubby & I were not impressed with the service. Ambiance: The decor is in blues, whites, and green pastel colours with medium wood tones. It looks okay. Not the prettiest place but also not a junky looking place. There is an outside entrance that leads to the parking lot. Some people came into the restaurant from that direction. Most of the people eating at the restaurant seemed to be muslim. I saw ladies in hijabs. Actually when we first came into the restaurant & were shown to a table some guys sitting nearby had their shoes off. That is a bit gross in my opionon. Overall I would say that I wouldn't come back here. I wasn't impressed with the service or the food. I can't eat any of the steaks also. We were only in Square One for a store that isn't anywhere else near us. If we go back to Square One I would try a different restaurant.

It was very good but with all honesty, you can find other places that serve delicious wraps at an affordable price. The baklava we had was okay buy I truly enjoyed the tea. This branch is spacious and beautiful and the service was fast. We will go back and try the kebabs next time at a location near us. It's at Square One so expect tons of parking spots.
