We stumbled on this gem after driving to Toronto to catch a flight- not too far from the airport it was the perfect spot to stop for lunch - an incredible international Food court the likes of which I'd never seen before - it was so hard to choose just one place to try.

Pop up store in Square One Last time we wanted to try the OG crispy chicken but unfortunately it was unavailable. We finally tried these! We got the OG crispy chicken, adobo chicken, braised beef brisket and the Sinigang fries. I always prefer the crispy chicken bao because it won't go wrong. The soft bun with the crispy chicken was a perfect match. The adobo chicken was flavorful and tender. However, the braised beef brisket was a bit dry compared to the chicken. Also, the Sinigang fries were so good and so crispy! The only thing is they were a bit salty.

Great selection of more local & trendier food vs the typical food court - big food chain variety. You'll find most make their food on-site. Some of my fav go-to's in this section are: Patties Express (the line-up goes fast) - spicy chicken & veggie patties are avail, aside from traditional beef BROD (compact version of Danish Pastry House) - coconut vanilla cake, almond paste chocolate triangles Ray Woodeys Craft Chippery - potato chip flavours change, they've got taro chips too Sweet Jesus - I love their vegan soft serve The Pie Commission - perfect portable meals Find me on Instagram @aida.loves

For a few years, I have been meaning to check out The Food District. I work in Mississauga, so the probability of coming over here seemed high at the time. Nope. My workplace is closer to the airport and Etobicoke. There have been so many decent places to eat that my colleagues and I would stay in these areas. The pandemic happened and we have all worked from home since. It has been two years since I last visited Square One. As of late, I have been back twice in a week. Crazy! My most recent visit was for a Yelp elite experience at this mall. Since the place didn't have any seating, I suggested that my friend and I try The Food District to find spots. There had to be some and I secretly wanted to visit The Food District! It's a cross between a food hall and a food court. I love food halls because you get more specialized businesses under one roof, which means more sampling. It's also the mall's food court, but a nicer version of a typical one. We snagged a table with stools in the Food City area, which is almost in the centre of the place, but slightly closer to the mall entrance. Tables were distanced nicely such that we felt safe and we couldn't hear any conversations other than our own. The Pie Commission was just behind us. I was looking to grab some dinner and loved the pies at its Etobicoke location. Sadly, it was out of commission last Friday night. Ugh! Their savoury and dessert pies are phenomenal. Instead, I got a patties combo from Patties Express. I have a friend whose go-to patty place is this one. There are locations in Toronto, but it was nice that I got to try them out here. The mild and spicy beef patties that I had were delicious. I am salivating as I reminisce about how yummy they were and how quickly I devoured them. My friend and I admired the Blooming Cotton Candy cart. The place makes cute duck, bunny, and bear-shaped cotton candy. My heart was set on getting dinner than dessert, so I will return to get one because I love cotton candy and it's the closest experience at any fair that I will get this year. I also enjoyed looking at floral arrangements at Blossom Moments. Their rose bears stood out, with each bear in its own display case. If you don't want to gift me a $65 small rose bear, I'll gladly receive an $8 spider plant. I'm not picky. The plants and flowers are so pretty and healthy here. There are tons of eateries that I still haven't fully discovered, from BROD (a spinoff of Danish Pastry House) to Tao Tea Leaf (it took so much willpower to not go in this store and to focus on getting dinner). I will definitely return. I had a great experience eating and getting patties here that I want more. (390)

My son and I decided to visit square one and opted to go to the food district again instead of the food court. The food court tends to be quite loud and busy. The food district area is busy but not crazy nor loud. They also have a good selection of snack type food. I really like that because I am able to sample the different food the place offers. We tried 2 places today for snacks. My my chicken was good ( 8/10) We tried the boneless chicken combo for $20. It was good size for a snack for 2 people. The service was fast and the place was set up more of a take out with an option to eat in. There are a few tables available. Place was clean too. Hattendo 7/10 There is a small bar like table that you can stand and quickly eat your food but no stools or chair to sit in. But there are tables within the food district where you can sit down and eat. We tried the cream bun with whipped cream. 6/10 It was good but nothing special about it. Ebi fry sando 9/10. I had low expectations on this being that it's just a sandwich but I was wrong. It was a really good sandwich. The bread was super soft and the sauce that came with the fried tempura shrimp just compliment it nicely.

I saw this place as i was exploring the mall. It's fairly new but there was definitely a lot of good food options. We decided to check out the bbq place as they have daily specials and got the fried chicken poutine. Surprisingly it was really good. It's probably one of the better poutines I had in a while. A good amount of gravy and cheese curds as well as the chicken was still crispy as well as the fries. For the price, it was a generous portion as well. We also got a kombucha from a nearby drink place and thought that was standard, nothing too exciting It's weird that they have this food area as well as a food court area too so make sure you go to the right place

Visited on July 1, 2019. Customer service: The staffs that I encountered were friendly. The lady at the tea shop was very knowledgeable about tea and the ingredients, I was also able to smell some samples at the time.. Food: They have lots of options here. There is a tea shop, a dessert place, and pasta place, etc. It's like a mini resting place to satisfy your cravings. Atmosphere: It was fun and lively. Parking: Lots of spaces to park, however a lot of people visit this place. Perhaps, things may have change due to the pandemic situation. But I can't wait to revisit this place when things settle down.

The ultimate destination for any foodies. The Food District is a good escape from the mall and into a world of great eats. Not only is this new "food court" beautifully designed, but it looks so different from the rest of the mall that it's like you stepped into a new place. TFD reminds me a lot of the markets in Europe. The design is simple, yet quite beautiful. There are lots of options to choose from and restaurants cater to all tastes. My favorites include Dal Moro's Pasta, Pier 87 (for seafood), Danish Pastry House (the bread is great and they always have samples), Plancha (super cute place), to name a few. They cater to all needs. Need desserts? They've got it. Looking for something light? There, you'll find it. Craving for a meal? You got it. Want to learn some new skills? They have classes for that! I also like that there's vegan options. Prices at the different vendors are a bit on the higher end, but it's totally worth it if you're looking for a treat once in a while or if you're looking for quality, freshness and no disappointments.

Every mall would be lucky to have this option Remember when Food courts used to suck...? Well, they often do. This food district has some modern and cool options for drink and food. Jamaican patties, Japanese cheesecake, South American tacos.... excellent; other malls.. pls pay attention

Great options, great variety, vegan and gf options here. Will be coming back many times!! I ate at Plancha....the vegan omelette. It was delicious! Made out of a mix of gf flours and spinach, with sides of pesto, fava, carrot purée, guacamole, sun dried tomato pesto and a salad. They did not have the gf bread yet but said it would be available starting April 2. The menu is very similar to cafe Landwer downtown in TO, but way closer to get to I also purchased 2 soups atthe Village juicery. I'm excited to try them but I also want to try their juices and shots.......they have some daily deals next week and they offer a "cleanse" program with their juices, shots and food. I had the gf muffin too from the juicery but it was awful very dry and not tasty. I may try a salad next time instead. There is another soup place, Ma's Best Soups, that does just soups.....their soups looked awesome too.

I love how you can just walk around and window show and that there are also several public areas where you can sit and year. There are also lots of restaurants where you can sit inside and eat as well. There is more than just restaurants, there are also bakeries and flower shops. I would highly recommend a visit, it even makes a nice little outing with friends.

Since it's Opening Week, I think it's a bit unfair to give it 5*s, so I'll stick to 4*...especially since this is my "home" mall! Yes, it's a Food Court, but it's a bit more than that with a classroom/demo area (free this week!), a space for a pop-up shop in the middle (very smart), and unconventional places such as a florist. You wouldn't normally find in a food court - but you would in a place such as a European Market. I believe all of the eateries are homegrown such as La Carnita (small-ish), Sweet Jesus (...pricey!), OKO Bagels, The Wine Shop (featuring mainly wines from the Niagara Region). Some places such as Seed To Sausage even goes as far as to feature products that are LOCAL. I love that there's a theme! I haven't eaten anywhere yet, so I'm excited to actually experience the food. :)

First time visiting this food district located inside the Mississauga Square One Shopping Mall. Pretty cool setup with a number of different stores including winery, bakery, seafood market and many many eateries. It's kinda like a food court but with individual locations that have their own seating. What captured my attention was the seafood market which had a variety of fresh looking seafood and on top of that they offer a menu selection that includes lobster poutine, lobster roll and many other seafood dishes cooked to your liking. I definitely will give it a try next time.

The menu was put together with well-selected and well-rounded dishes: 4 appetizers/sides, 2 mains and 2 desserts (mostly french inspired?). The menu is different for each class. Since it was in the kitchen area of a home, it felt extremely crowded with 18 people walking about. We worked pretty much 2 to a "station" but kept getting in each-others way. I felt the class lacked organization as after she explained each "station", it was pretty much a free-for-all to get cooking. On top of that, the recipes were not detailed enough to follow for a new cook. When I asked the chef for directions, she would either deviate from the recipe or take over the cooking. Not much of a lesson if you ask me. I do have to give them credit for the advance preparation by setting aside ingredients/pots/pans for each dish, but there was no similar consideration when it came to the "cooking"; it was a fight to use the stove burners/oven racks. Not surprisingly, when it came time to eat, it was also a free-for-all. The food was served buffet-style and all of us stood around with a plate and fork. There was also no where to sit... I have no doubt that the chef is extremely knowledgeable, and I have to mention that I've been to a few cooking classes at cooking schools, so my review might be biased as I'm strongly comparing my experiences with those previous classes.

Chef Kai Zyganiuk and his lovely assistant Jen did an amazing job. They arrived at my friends house at 2:00pm to start cooking and setting up the dinner for us. Myself and our other friends arrived at 5:00pm to begin the event. When I arrived Chef Kai was in the kitchen cooking our 6 course meal. He asked us what time we would like to begin eating. We choose 6pm so we could mingle and get ready for the evenings festivities. Each course was paired with the perfect Two Oceans Wine and Chef Kai accommodated everyone's food allergies. 1st Course: Our first course was a seared shrimp with a curried aioli, toasted sesame seeds and blackened lime. It tasted delicious and was paired with Two Oceans Pinot Grigio. The flavour combinations were so good, I definitely could have eaten more of the shrimp. The shrimp melted in our mouths and presented a unique flavour pallet when eaten with the aioli. I'll definitely be asking Chef Kai for the recipe. 2nd Course: The second course was a soup made with a white bean purée, charred chorizo sausage, chives and a toasted baguette (of course I didn't get to try the baguette since I'm both gluten and lactose intolerant but everyone said it was delicious). The soup tasted fantastic! It was spicy and flavourful. I really enjoyed the sausage within the soup. That is something I have never done before and it tasted exquisite. This course was paired with Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc was smoother than most and definitely my favourite wine we tried during the main courses. (Hold tight for my review on the dessert wine). 3rd Course: The third Course was a delightful baby gem lettuce salad served with pickled red onions, warm pressed feta cheese (which looked amazing), toasted brioche, roasts almonds and vinaigrette. The salad had a nice woody flavour and I really enjoyed it. 4th Course: The fourth course was an 11 hour braised berkshire pork seasoned with exotic spices and served with pearl cous cous (my course arrived with champ potatoes instead), red wine jus, onion jam, and micro basil. This course was very savoury. Chef Kai made extra and everyone had seconds. This dish with Two Oceans Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot was medium bodied with a berry oak flavour. 5th Course: The fifth course was definitely the grand finale. Chef Kai prepared a seared prime beef tenderloin with a side of smoked Gouda cheese (I wish I wasn't lactose intolerant... hehe), tart cherries, champ potatoes, baby vegetables and natural jus. The steak was prepared perfectly. Chef Kai served it medium rare and it melted in our mouths. The tart cherries added a really unique flavour I had not experienced while eating a steak before. In fact, it was delightful. This main was paired with Two Oceans Shiraz. The Shiraz was fruity and medium bodied. It had notes of red cherries and vanilla. It's definitely worth trying if you enjoy red wine. 6th Course: The sixth course was a delicious dessert. Chef Kai prepared a medjool date cake for us with citrus and mint ice cream, baked lavender soil, soused berries and warm caramel sauce. My friends loved this course. I was served a bowl of soused berries and they were really good. This course was paired with Two Oceans Moscato. The Moscato was amazing and definitely my favourite wine of the night. I have a real sweet tooth and love sweet wines. If you enjoy sweet wines as well I highly recommend you try Two Oceans Moscato; it's sweet and goes down smooth. Chef Kai did an amazing job catering our Two Oceans get together. Chef Kai is extremely friendly and a master at what he does. He does an incredible job in the kitchen and can make due with whatever type of kitchen appliances you have. I highly recommend working with him and hope we can dine together again.
