I know - i ordered early in 2023 and I have been unable to contact this company to inquire why I never received my bag. 300 bucks down the drain. I have purchased successfully in the past on two other occasions. I find anyone reviwing after early 2023, if you can find any, to be highly suspect. Was I just one of the lucky ones? No idea, but here was my experience. After reading a lot of glowing reviews from years ago off Reddit boards and the like, I decided to purchase a 15" laptop bag from Copper River Bags on Nov. 24, 2023, with a 20% off deal (that it seems like they run most of the time). Of course, a day after purchasing, I try to look up how long it typically takes for people to get their bags and see the tidal wave of horrible experiences folks have had in the last couple years. Immediately, I'm worried that I've thrown out $200 and will have to scrap with Paypal and my bank in order to get it back. But, since the page for the bag claims a 14-business-day time frame from ordering to shipping, I waited and hoped, checking my order page every few days. I checked a couple days ago, and I see my order shipped! In total, it was 16 business days after ordering that the bag shipped- not within the 14-day window, but close. The bag arrived today, and looks and feels as advertised. Thick leather, sturdy looking construction, and much more on the "rustic" than "refined" side. The only difference I have found from the picture on their website is that the "copper river bags" tag is not stitched onto the front, which I am honestly more than OK with. Instead, there are the words "copper river bag" lightly stamped on the leather beneath where the top flap sits. I'm happy with that, but they should update their site to match their products. In the end, it's a major weight off my mind that this bag actually came. That said, I have no idea whether or not it was actually made in America as advertised. I also have no clue why so many others are being screwed over by this company. I won't buy from them again until I see some evidence that they are doing right by other folks. But, if you ordered a bag and are now freaking out that you were scammed, I'd watch and wait for a few weeks before despairing. read more

Buyer Absolutely Beware.... My review echoes the sentiment of numerous others. It does tug at me a bit to write a review like that as I usually publicly comment on positive outcomes I have purchased other items from CRB with no issues whatsoever. Product delivered as ordered. That all changes when I ordered a 20 inch duffel in April. After weeks of no updates I finally got an email back regarding family issues/ the company was moving. I had priorly placed a PayPal grievance but allowed it to resolve as I was informed they were moving their company I congratulated them on moving from CA to KY and said Id gladly wait out another month. My good nature was taken advantage of. After another month, I received an update that my item had shipped. My item sat at "Information Received" for several weeks. It had not shipped. After numerous other emails asking about the shipping I was informed that there had been issues at the local Post Office (Yeah Right) I attempted to re-open my PayPal grievance, but was unable to. I am positive that CRB is aware of this process and timeline with PayPal payments I received the bag in August. The bad had not been finished. Personalization that I paid for was not completed, nor flag patch or logo stamping was completed. I then emailed the company back as to how I might have the finish work completed. I offered to send back or wait for another. Radio Silence Almost 5 months later, I have an unfinished bag, out almost 300 dollars and no grievance method with PayPal or my bank. Watch out. I ordered a camera bag a few months ago. After inquiring about the status of my order and receiving no response I became increasingly concerned that Copper Bags was running some sort of scam. Finally I received a response saying that the bag would be shipped soon and they forwarded a USPS tracking number. A week later the bag still hadn't shipped. I inquired several times and never received a reply. At that point I contacted my credit card and disputed the charge. I received a provisional credit pending an investigation and later the transaction was cleared in my favor. I don't know what is going on with Copper Bags but it looks to me like some sort of scam operation. A zero star rating would be too good for this company.I ordered an 8.5x11 folio September r of 2022. I received a message that the order was delayed due to shortages of materials. Ok, I understand this can happen and was patient for a few months. After a long wait I sent a message to info@copperriverbags.com. I did receive a reply that it was in production and would be sent a few weeks later. Again I waited and no folio. Again sent a message to their email and "crickets". I waited for a few months and sent another message. Shame on me for expecting a reply. Today, 2 years later I sent another message including receipt and charge to my CC. This organization is now a full blown scam. It's a shame as they used to make decent products. Now they take your money, never communicate until you send them multiple emails, at which point they tell you your product looks great, but it still doesn't get sent. Then when you express concern that they still haven't shipped, they email with a USPS notification... but the USPS never receives the product to ship.. . so their status continues to say "label created, awaiting shipment" that never comes. Eventually you'll cancel the order, but they will make excuses and refuse to refund. You will dispute the charges. They will then lie to your credit card company by showing the label email as evidence. Trust me, you don't want this hassle. I don't post reviews on Yelp often (ever?), but I'm writing this review to counter all the negative recent reviews for this company. I ordered a large duffle bag from CRB in early August. It was the fourth bag I've purchased from them in the last few years--the others are all messenger/mail bags in different colors and all very nice. Yes, the order was delayed (I received the bag today, about 6 weeks after ordering). But Marlon at CRB consistently (and promptly) responded to all my inquiries. When I realized a few days ago how long it had been since I'd placed my order and started checking Yelp and BBB reviews for this company, I started freaking out a little bit that I had been scammed and had thrown away $200. I imagined that someone halfway around the world had gotten this company's domain and was taking orders they never intended to fill. I contacted CRB and by the next day the bag was on its way to me. No ghosting, no lying, none of the terrible things other people have reported. So, am I sorry that several other people had a worse experience with CRB than I did? Sure. Do I wish I had gotten my bag with no issues within the 7-14 day window they claim? Of course. But as far as I can tell, Copper River Bags is still a legitimate American-based business (now based in Kentucky, previously in California) handcrafting unique, well-constructed USA-made bags. I've purchased a number of items from Copper River over the last few years, and have been happy with the quality every time. When the laptop bag I ordered was smaller than I'd anticipated, they gave me full credit towards a larger one (and custom-made a retired product for me). 3 years of daily use with 2 or 3 laptops, and I'm very happy. They custom-tailored a wallet for me, and I've purchased many of their small wallets and given them as gifts to friends who use them for "nights-out" when they just need an ID, credit card, and a little cash. The Quality is top-notch, and the turnaround for custom work has been reasonable. I've been by their Lincoln, CA shop - not sure why anyone would say they're made overseas. read more

This is a really a shame to have to write this. I was shopping for quite a while for a new bag and these bags look beautiful. I finally pulled the trigger and paid my money. The website said it would take 5-7 days to ship. 3 weeks go by and I email the owner and then contact using their contact tab on the site. Finally she responds and says a family issue is delaying them. I wait a few more days and then ask for my money back - I needed a bag for work. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I ordered a camera bag on 9/28/2019. On 10/14/2019 I still hadn't heard anything from them on my order status. I left two emails asking the status of the bag and two days later I got an email saying it would be shipping out that week and they were sorry and they were upgraded my shipping to priority 2 day mail. I got a confirmation email with a tracking number on 10/16/2019 It's know 10/22/2019 and the tracking number when I open it says awaiting package. I call the postmaster and he told me they have not dropped the package off yet. My online account say the package has shipped.
