    Pork Chops and potatoes.
    James R.

A family business that is a bit of a mixed bag. Stopped there after a day of sightseeing. First thing that we noticed was a very young staff busing and waiting tables. I will admit that I was impressed how hard they were working. However, it took forever for us to get a table. Once we were seated it took a while for us to get our drinks. I suspect that this had to do with much of the staff being underage. It was an older lady who took our drink order. Mom's wine was fantastic, however, my manhattan was weak. We wanted to order the prime rib, but were told they ran out. I then requested the t-bone. They ran out of that of that also. We ended up ordering the 14 oz steak and the pork chop. Shortly thereafter we were served dinner roles that were out of this world! Warm and very tasty! However, the salad reminded us of grass clippings. The steak and pork chop were great. The mashed potatoes were tasty, but cold.

Well we had family in town and we thought we would give this place another chance but did we make a mistake. The filet mignon looked the same as the small sirloin my daughter got which looked and tasted like a thin tough piece of beef jerky. When i said something about it the owner came over to the table and started to argue with me about it and said he was there on his day off ?!?! And was Incredibly rude. So after trying to make me feel bad about complaining finally he offered to have someone make me a new one. The second one came out good but for as much as that tiny piece of meat cost next time i'll stay home over picking this place ever again. Plus the restaurant was dirty and needs to be cleaned.

We eat here every time we're in Safford. Good, large drinks, decent steak, lots of menu variety. Local patrons are friendly - and had us join them for dinner! I took off a star as most of the steaks were overcooked on this visit.

Very solid ribeye steaks, nice marbling and cooked as ordered. Garlic mashed potatoes were great and dinner rolls were quite good as well. Nice western decor inside with colorful dinnerware and a front row seat of the open pit indoor grill. Wait stuff was friendly but slow (wasn't very busy) and forgot a few items/confused a few items, we were a table of 4. The menu is also overpriced. Might return and order the steak or ribs. Thanks.

We were greeted by the Copper Steer.

Warm & rustic looking decor. We were greeted by a Copper Steer ( see pic) and two friendly staff members. After being seated and water brought out the specials were announced. Though it's a steakhouse all 6 of us chose the Barundi fish with two sides. It was light , Not fishy and delectable. We were all very happy campers ( literally). I got an additional salad for....... wait for it $3 and it was a very nice variety and happily shared by 5. We left very satisfied with food and service & will return.

My son and I went here for his 13th birthday which is a big deal in our household so this was a very special occasion. We just moved here and this seemed like the place to go for that. The restaurant itself is nice and the pit is cool. However I didn't feel like it was that busy and we had to wait over an hour for our food. The waitress was sweet and asked if we wanted his birthday cheesecake while we waited for dinner...but no happy birthday song or anything. Then we the food did come I was SO disappointed. The prime rib was the worst I've ever had. It looked like it had been cooked previously and the reheated by cooking it on both sides?!? Very strange and unappetizing. My son's steak was ok but nothing great. Then the bill comes and it's over $100 for 2 dinners and 2 drinks!!!!! That's outrageous, my husband can cook amazing steaks at home.

What I ordered: 10oz skirt steak (medium rare ) substituted the fries for mashed potatoes & a chelada First time: no Date: 6/2019 First, the restaurant has an updated menu so I will be posting a picture of it. I've been here once before right after the remodeling of the restaurant and I had ordered the Alaskan salmon which was really great so I would definitely recommend that. I had visited the restaurant about 5 times before the remodel & I can say that the food has gotten better. The wait time on the other had hasn't really changed. I ordered the skirt steak which was AMAZING! The steak had really great flavor, I was pleasantly surprised. My mom ordered the chicken fried pork chop which was also REALLY good, I would definitely get that next time. Overall, our dinner was a 10/10

We just moved to Safford a couple of weeks ago and this is our first night out to a restaurant in town. We were both in the mood for BBQ brisket and boy howdy did they have it. It was so delicious. It has a very tangy sauce with a bit of a bite to it. The sides were as good as homemade. Our waitress Mandy was a sweetheart as was the young lady at the reception. Way to go. This is our new favorite. Lol

Really Kraft Mac and Cheese. Should of stayed home

The patio is a relaxing place to sit in the shade, despite the industrial issue, airplane-engine-sized fan keeping us all cool. But I'd rather stay comfort than roast on a hot afternoon as temps soared to 92°F during my visit. So it's all good. I ordered the green chile grilled cheese. A sandwich that features pepper jack cheese and green chiles on buttery sourdough, it sounds pretty darn good on paper. But the pepper jack was very bland and the green chiles were lost in the sandwich. It was still tasty and the crispy edges on the bread were nice! However, the tater tots side dish that seemed so innocuous at first were actually the star of the show! They might be the best I've ever had! Tender on the inside, perfectly crunchy on the outside, and seasoned with this amazing spice blend, the Salty Heifer has created the perfect tots! I highly recommend them!

Portion sizes are always generous, and the quality has been consistently good every single time. They have never messed up an order of mine. They also have a fair amount of variety on the menu, which keeps things from getting stale. Reliable, filling, and definitely worth ordering again.

They have a huge screen TV at the back of the restaurant and a nice large bar, as well as the seating area. high tops as well as regular tables. This place is really big inside! Seems really perfect for a lot of people and all the staff seem happy. The server who took care of me as I walked inside was really nice. I didn't want to sit at the table that she chose and she gladly allowed me to sit wherever I wanted to. I'm not in a rush so I sat over towards the wall where I could see the TV screens. One of the things that I really like is they have condiments at each of the tables, which was convenient. I chose the fresh hand cut fries and I've been really wanting fresh zucchini, Amber assured me that it was Hand-battered and fresh so I'm hoping that that will be good. It's really comfortable in here and cool. Nice music, perfect volume. I'm so tempted to have a cocktail, but I'm not sure. The zucchini came out super fast and super hot! You can absolutely tell that they were just hand-battered and fresh. I like all the little crispies too. The zucchini is really hot and a very light breading. It's really hard nowadays to find like fresh fried zucchini. I really liked it! The ranch is good too! There's a whole vibe in here and it's really positive!! The staff was attentive to people walking in, it was really nice to see considering my experience 30 minutes prior. I like the amount of veggies on the burger,Lots of fries. I got a lunch special, it was a great deal with my drink included. Amber took care of me and she was very attentive, friendly and shared a little bit of history with me. Servers matter. She took great care of me! She informed me this building was a Golden Corral where the current owner worked in his youth, later buying the building and turning it into JDs Grill. This visit was a win, definitely giving it a thumbs up and I am excited to come back and try their bone-in Wings! They do have happy hour specials and I absolutely do recommend the fried zucchini! The outside Sitting area seems nice, but I think I'll wait until it cools down to visit out there! Overall, it was a nice experience and they may be doing something for the Justin Gaethje fight Celebration that will be coming up here this year! Stay tuned!

My only complaint was I paid cash and was given change for the credit card price. I didn't get the 63 cents discount. Small issue but annoying. I wasn't going to bother her for the change. I left all that I received for her tip. Will I return? probably not, the menu was not that intriguing to me and the atmosphere was typical sports bar and a bit dark.

Well, unfortunately, I only made it to the bathroom and I understand the restaurant is from 1966 and I love old things, however, this establishment was not a good fit for me. I happen to love old things; I love old Antiques, I love the old ways, I love old places , but when it comes to eating, I guess I'm a little on the picky side. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it to the booth or table because when I walked in, I walked right by a server who was sitting down at the counter which I was really excited about, I wanted to sit there because it reminded me of when my dad would take me out to the local Walgreens (or sandwich place) and we would get a little bite to eat and a sundae in a sundae glass!! Granted it is the lull of the day for a Saturday, but I was ignored and then I tried to get the attention of the guy behind the counter by walking straight past the server (whom I thought may have been off shift) but he also ignored me??? I'm not sure maybe he has a hearing impairment? I said, "excuse me " a couple of times and that's when the server Finally said she could help me. I have a sibling who is Deaf - I also know sign language so I'm not judging, I was just puzzled because I was completely ignored. It was very quiet by this time. The server who was sitting down on her phone maybe doing paperwork then turned to me to help. I asked if they were closed, thinking maybe I was too late since they were no hours posted on the door ? By this time, I had already driven over an hour or so to get here so a quick bathroom break was needed. I had seen another review that was positive online so I thought I would give it a try for a burger and some fries - pretty simple order. After going to the bathroom first and seeing the condition of the bathroom, I just decided it was not for me. I think I'm overly picky when it comes to restaurants, so I'm sure it's just me. For the first time, I decided not to take a chance and I'm seeking elsewhere to find a burger locally! I will say there were plenty of people that were here when I arrived, and they seemed happy, I just think I'm going to pass on this experience.
