The non-review review..... Well, unfortunately, I only made it to the bathroom and I understand the restaurant is from 1966 and I love old things, however, this establishment was not a good fit for me. I happen to love old things; I love old Antiques, I love the old ways, I love old places , but when it comes to eating, I guess I'm a little on the picky side. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it to the booth or table because when I walked in, I walked right by a server who was sitting down at the counter which I was really excited about, I wanted to sit there because it reminded me of when my dad would take me out to the local Walgreens (or sandwich place) and we would get a little bite to eat and a sundae in a sundae glass!! Granted it is the lull of the day for a Saturday, but I was ignored and then I tried to get the attention of the guy behind the counter by walking straight past the server (whom I thought may have been off shift) but he also ignored me??? I'm not sure maybe he has a hearing impairment? I said, "excuse me " a couple of times and that's when the server Finally said she could help me. I have a sibling who is Deaf - I also know sign language so I'm not judging, I was just puzzled because I was completely ignored. It was very quiet by this time. The server who was sitting down on her phone maybe doing paperwork then turned to me to help. I asked if they were closed, thinking maybe I was too late since they were no hours posted on the door ? By this time, I had already driven over an hour or so to get here so a quick bathroom break was needed. I had seen another review that was positive online so I thought I would give it a try for a burger and some fries - pretty simple order. After going to the bathroom first and seeing the condition of the bathroom, I just decided it was not for me. I think I'm overly picky when it comes to restaurants, so I'm sure it's just me. For the first time, I decided not to take a chance and I'm seeking elsewhere to find a burger locally! I will say there were plenty of people that were here when I arrived, and they seemed happy, I just think I'm going to pass on this experience. read more

I always make an effort to stop in here for one big breakfast before i leave town and it never disappoints. It's definitely the go to spot in Safford for good diner vibes. They have a big parking lot but it can get pretty busy as evidence by the waiting room. But no wait today.. good service, kept the coffee warm while we waited. Food delicious as always and i even grabbed a cinnamon roll for the road! (Also good btw) I haven't had lunch / dinner but breakfast is definitely worth it! read more

My parents love this place. Me eh not so much. I have to admit the waffle here is the best though. We went for dinner and I had the New Mexico Cajun burger. Definitely an interesting name and not as spicy as I hoped for. It was just ok. The fries were not very good. Seemed like they sat in the warmer for a while. Drove up to a quaint looking diner. Walked in and was greeted nicely by one of the servers. Without inspecting, it was a nice looking place. After I was seated, I asked for my surf and she said no problem. Because not all restaurants are willing to serve half coffee and half hot cocoa. I ordered a French toast plate and it was just the right amount. Very nice service and the food was good. If I'm ever in this town of Saford, Arizona, I'll definitely eat here again. 8/9 outa 10. read more

We were in town again and thought we'd give this restaurant another try since they have such an extensive menu. I was hoping a supper meal would end up with a higher review than my breakfast one earlier, but I'd still give it this rating. Our server was friendly and checked in with us a few times. I ordered a Southwest chicken salad. It was ok and had quite a bit of grilled chicken on it. My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner and wasn't thrilled with it. The first piece they gave him was pretty small and seemed dry. The server took it back and we could hear the cook grumbling about the request which didn't endear our experience there. The second piece was better. He had to ask for his cornbread as well. Our dining companions were just ok with their meals as well. It looks like a classic diner inside with booths and counter seating. Plenty of parking. read more

Staff excited, friendly, and very attentive to customers. The food is under seasoned and priced a bit high for the quality. Overall it's a recommendation from me. This was a serious nostalgia fix. Jerry's used to be a large southwest chain of 50 restaurants. Now they're down to one in AZ, one in NV, one in OK, and that's all she wrote. I hadn't seen one in years, so we stopped in. At first they turned us away because they were having intermittent power outages, but then invited us back in while we were researching other alternatives. Generous portions. My Western bacon burger was a tad dry, but tasty. DW's Philly cheesesteak was "ooey and gooey and messy and good!" (It was so large, I got to consume the back half the next day, and I agree.) The waitress was a bit distracted, but the service was adequate. And the 1990s prices were appreciated, too! I was glad to be able to eat again at this chain I used to enjoy decades ago. read more

We stopped in to enjoy some breakfast. We were quickly pointed over to a small booth for the two of us. Steven was quick to get us setup with drinks and had menus in our hands before we knew it. The place is decorated in the old style decor of a diner and it fits that bill very well. The coffee cup never went empty and the food was hot, tasty, and good sized proportions. Not overly complex or imaginative flavors, just good food. While we wouldn't go out of our way to go back, we would still stop in again. read more

The waitresses were nice. The atmosphere was friendly. But I would not come back here again. The place was filthy, there was food and crap stuck to the window shade. There was something floating in the glasses of water. The eggs were overcooked and tasted awful. My burger and fries were okay. We were on our way back to Texas, taking the scenic route. So at noonish, we were in Safford, and stopped for lunch. It was an incredibly busy place. But, the service was excellent, the waitress was attentive. I had a burger, with bacon and avocado. IT WAS DELICIOUS! I'm not a big fan of fries, but even the fries were good! I can't say enough about the ice tea. Sweet ice tea made perfectly! The restaurant itself was old, but, the place was clean, the restrooms were clean, and the service was spot on! If you're ever in Safford, be sure to eat at Jerry's. I know the food is way better than any chain fast food joint! read more

Two stars ONLY for our server. She was fast, friendly and just attentive enough. As for the food - I can honestly say that there was not one single positive thing between my dish and my husband's. Had business in Thatcher and we were looking for a bite to eat. Jerry's looked busy enough and we assumed there would be a good selection to choose from. I ordered a patty melt with pepper jack instead of swiss with a side of coleslaw. Jerry's was out of or hadn't yet made the coleslaw so I had fries. Fries were just ok but my patty melt was the worse I've ever had. Basically a dried up hamburger patty with absolutely NO grilled onions on it and swiss cheese. Patty melts should be juicy and cheesy and delicious. This was none of that. My husband had Ozzie's Southern Breakfast with bacon. My husband loves biscuits and gravy and always cleans his plate but he didn't eat a whole lot of this meal, saying it just didn't taste good and his eggs were way undercooked so everything turned in to a giant mess on his plate. As for the bacon - the pieces were all fat curled up in loose balls since there really wasn't any meat to fry. My guy will never leave bacon on a plate but he sure did at Jerry's. Upon paying/leaving my husband politely told the cashier of our disappointment and she said she would tell the manager. I can only hope she did so. When we come back to the area, I can guarantee that we won't be eating at Jerry's. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is amazing. All the servers are worried about every customer's experience, not just the ones in their section or at their tables. I've never had anything here I didn't like to eat, but I really got to say the chicken fried chicken is one of my favorites, and their hamburgers, some of the best in town. Jerry's diner is definitely a great family-friendly atmosphere, where everybody can just feel at home. read more

Food was good however the waitresses service was very poor, we had asked for items we ordered twice as she forgot what we had ordered, she never came back to check our drinks and half way through the meal she brought the check even before all the food had arrived, then at 830pm they started turning customers away an hour and a half before they closed (we counted 10 people turned away), they said it was to slow to take more customers and they were closing the kitchen early, then after very poor service we left a small tip (weren't going to leave one at all given the service but left one anyway), then as we were leaving the waitress shook her ass at us and did an F-you dance and waived at us, not sure if we will be back will definitely contact the manager in the morning. read more

Wow what a disappointment! So you advertise your classic Jerry burger with a special sauce as the one that opened the doors.. not sure if there is anything in that burger or it's presentation that I would count on to keep them as such . What was presented was a small way overly cooked patty on a bun with a piece of half cooked cheese , lettuce, tomato etc .What the etc did not include was the special doorbuster sauce. When asked to server what was the sauce response was "oh yes our special sauce is a combination of steak sauce, mustard and ketchup " .. I've been here before and never been ignored. I called ahead multiple times for the takeout line and it was a constant busy signal so I decided to stop by in person. I walked in stood at the register as four or five different servers walked past me as if I were invisible. Such a terrible customer service! I don't care if you are busy, you lost me I updated my review and changed it from one star to three after receiving a private message from the owner and a gift certificate to try the restaurant again. We picked up salads with chicken for dinner one night and breakfast the next day. Salads were okay but nothing special, yet a diner like this has other food it specializes in. My wife is a participent at a conference at Eastern Arizona College. Sunday is not the best day to try and eat out in Thatcher. Apparently all the good Mexican Good establishments close on Sunday. Wanted to avoid national chains and fast food so we chose to give Jerry's a shot. Bailey was great and she made the Hungry Traveler sound so good, we both ordered it. Brilliant choice. Ok, a Dennys opened in Safford and there was all this "hoopla" about it. Guess what? It sucks. Jerrys has and always will be the place to get breakfast, dessert and late night shakes in Safford. Other things to consider: 1. If Safford got excited over a Dennys? Lord help us! 2. If Dennys can't make people in Safford happy...again, Lord help us. 3. A Dennys coming to town made the news .... nuff said Anyway, Jerrys has been there forever and they may have NASTY bathrooms, (that's why they lost a star) but this is the place for breakfast.
