What appealed to us was the small class size, the sense of community that the school has and the fact my son could attend pre-K to grade 12 at the same campus. When talking to parents whose children do not attend DWA they are always surprised at the activities that my son partakes in. What other school has swimming 2 times a school year, skiing at the elementary level, Cooking class, Bring your parent to school day just to name a few. DWA is a fantastic school and I can not find the words to express how truly amazing the administration and teaching staff are. I went here and it was traumatic. Complete opposite of a "Christian" school. I was bullied for…read moreyears, and the teachers/administration either do absolutely nothing or just tell the bullies to say sorry. Not even a parent phone call. They have stupid rules because the administration they have doesn't use their brains. For example, some boys were in the bathrooms on their phones, so they banned the whole grade from using the bathroom during class. If you try to wear a hoodie in class because you're freezing the heating is completely broken and after several years they still haven't fixed it, you will get detention. All the teachers get to wear whatever they want to stay warm when the classroom is literally 15 degrees, but the students have to suffer and try to focus while wearing clothes that feel like paper and most girls wear skirts. They don't even teach the Bible in most of the chapels here. Once, they completely twisted the meaning of a Bible story during a chapel for super young kids. The school is also designed badly (the Junior High halls are way too small). 2x as bad as the public high schools that are overflowing. Every day, kids are violently shoved around and pushed in the hallways, and nothing is done about it. Teachers walk right by students physically fighting each other and putting other students in danger by shoving their friends into the middle of the halls. The teachers just pretend that they don't see it. I saw kids get knocked to the ground after a stupid person pushed someone else into them. The teachers are just in their own world, it's all about them. Even the toilet paper in their bathrooms is better and doesn't feel like straight paper. The school is dirty, and some parts never get cleaned properly or not cleaned at all. One of my friends looked up one day in the bathroom, and there was a dead rat in the ceiling. There was also a rat in the staff room. The overflowing public high school I go to is 1000 times cleaner than GCA. The cafeteria also sucks because they starve students. It's so expensive, and no matter how much you pay, you will never get a good meal that will actually fill you up. The 8 dollar meal they have that is supposed to be the large meal is not even enough food to feed a 7 year old. So kids have to buy a bunch of overpriced snacks like a piece of sausage and some cheese for 3 dollars, or a cup of juice for 4. Every year, they make the meals smaller and more expensive. But they did make sure to buy hundreds of Chromebooks instead of letting students use their own because they didn't want kids to play games, and they're too lazy to actually just supervise the kids.

Our older children attended an AMI accredited private Montessori program and we can honestly say that Kidsmart is superior in many ways! If you are planning the private school route for elementary, your child might be required to write the Bracken Assessment. Mrs. M thoroughly prepares each child with the tools and knowledge to ace this assessment. My daughter is well ahead of where she needs to be and was accepted into a high ranking private school (with a huge waiting list) for September 2016 all because she scored in the advanced range on the Bracken Assessment. We owe it all to Mrs. M and her fantastic assistant Ms. Angie. If you would like your child to be reading by the time they finish pre-school and to have important critical thinking skills and so much more, you must consider Mrs. M's program.

You pay 18 grand to receive teachers who don't know what they're doing and a building that looks like it's from the 1980s that was never bothered to be renovated. There are a few kids that have shown violent tendencies, with the principal not seeming to care about the other kid's safety. But overall, it is not a horrible school but it has a few major flaws.
