Small group dinner after work. Got a table with no wait 6:30pm. I had the 6oz filet, mashed potatoes and salad. Salad was a great mix and the blue cheese was excellent. Working at a company where customer service is our number one priority, it is always a challenge to find excellent customer service anywhere else. However, my Wife and I were so impressed with the staff at Coppermill Steakhouse. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating! She answered every question we had with such great detail. She was so personable and easy to talk to. We didn't realize we came in so close to closing time, but never once felt like we were being a nuisance, or as if we were being rushed. Every server was fantastic! The food & martinis were outstanding! Everything is made in house and cooked to perfection. We came back that very next day for all you can eat Crab legs & prime rib. Needless to say, it was yet again amazing. They were so busy and still made us feel like the only people in the restaurant. I truly can't say enough good things about this place! Food = Good Service = Horrendous. Period. A message for the General Manager: Your servers/bartenders during the week need training and MANAGING. My most recent experience as a business traveler: Tuesday night sitting at the bar. One bartender who started waiting on me goes to a table near the bar to do homework. My new bartender both doesn't make eye contact or speak with me unless I ask for refills (which I had to do frequently). She did, however, freely talk with her co-workers. I ordered a soup and salad. Soup came 1st and was cold. Sent back. Came back obviously microwaved and not stirred. Bowl and outside of thick soup hot, interior still same temp. Salad came minus dressing. In both cases, no "I'm so sorry"--just business as usual. When paying I requested the soup be removed, and was met with a surprised look and questions from the bartender. SMH. We just ate of the best burgers in memory. They have only two selections for burgers, but wow was it good, The Burger with gouda cheese, bacon, on brioche....rare. Now their menu is actually loaded with choices for different dishes, I assume all with the same high quality meat, Black Angus beef from a local ranch family, other options, and chef. The lobster stuffed mushrooms were just as good, as well as the french fries cooked just right. The bartender was friendly while we waited for our food pick up. I had a nice Zinfandel while my wife really enjoyed her fresh blueberry lemon margherita with sugar rim. So, yes, even as pick up food it was great. We ordered online through Toast. The only thing I would recommend is that the person who answered the phone when we called about online v in person pickup needed more education about the menu, specifically the burger. This place is perfect for date night! On Fridays, they have $40 ALL YOU CAN EAT prime rib & snow crab legs buffet. Pretty good pricing for how much you can get and cooked to perfection I might add. Just passing through. Staff at the Hampton Inn recommended the place. I had already decided to go when told me to let the staff know I was staying at the Hampton and I would get a discount. There is no discount. So, I order a NY strip. I got a cold ribeye (maybe someone else's order?) the accompanying brussel sprouts were burned and also cold. When the bill comes I give them my credit card. 5 minutes later another server brings me another bill. I ask why and she says it's fixed now. I was unaware it was broken. So I ask what was fixed? She says that this is her second day and she was just told to bring the bill over. So, now I have 2 bills at the table, and I'm wondering how many times my card was run. I will check my bank app later tonight. Service matches everything else. It's slow, uninformed, and the answer/excuse to everything is "I've only worked here a few days". Don't know who the manager is. I would have liked to talk to him/her, but they were unavailable. Truly a forgettable meal. read more

Angus and Sozo were closed due to water damage. My husband suggested Coppermill. Started with a Botanist ( who would have thought?) gin martini. I was nicely surprised to enjoy a wedge salad with a perfectly done beef tenderloin accompanied by a delicious baked potato. Great service. Met friends there after a long hot day showing. Waited an hour to get our food and were about ready to leave. Other people had gotten their food and left. My chicken was mediocre. Lots of gooey spinach artichoke dip, but not sure how it was cooked. About 5 spears of asparagus and some end were woody and not edible. Rice was good. My husbands steak was supposed to be rare and was medium. I have heard good things and always wanted to try this place, but not sure if we will be back. The bartender was attentive and said there was a group of 25 in the party room that was jamming up the kitchen. Sitting at the bar, I could clearly see the group. The bartender offered me some bread while I waited. It was a good 40 minutes before I was brought my meal. The chicken was flavorful and moist and I will certainly get it again. I found out from the waitress that this place opened just two weeks ago. Because of the inconvenience, the bartender only charged me half for the meal which was much appreciated. With that said, I'm going to be coming back here in a couple of months when I'm in the area and give it another go. EXCELLENT PRIME RIB!!! We always like to try "local" steakhouses when we travel and the people over at the Microtel Inn recommended this steakhouse to us. It is a little expensive but OMG!!! :-O 2 of us had the prime rib and my husband had the ribeye. You could cut all of them with a butter knife! The meat just melted in your mouth! To start I'm going to say I'm a bit biased, my fiancé and I had our first date here and go back every year to celebrate so it holds a special place in my heart. We travel quite often from OKC to Holdrege to see my aging mom in the nursing home which is where we were this weekend. We normally eat at the Speakeasy, which we love, but it was closed this weekend so we drove to Kearney. I'm so glad we picked the Coppermill! We started with lemon martinis and artichoke dip and they were both wonderful. I ordered the blackened rib eye and my husband ordered the Alfredo. Both were melt in your mouth amazing. Mine came with asparagus and garlic potatoes. I usually don't like mashed potatoes so I ordered French fries. They must have forgotten because I got the mashed potatoes. They brought my fries when my waiter noticed but I was loving the potatoes that came with it. Creme Brûlée was our dessert and it was incredible. You can absolutely not go wrong here. I also need to mention our waiter Kunal (not positive how to spell it). He was attentive and kind and spoke to us about coming to Kearney to take care of his grandma in her later years. Great guy. I stopped in for dinner with a colleague while on a business trip. Great choice. The staff, especially the manager and Trevor the barkeeper, were extremely pleasant and knowledgable about the food (meat for sure), wine and sprits. After a long day, I put it in cruise control and pretty much went with all of their selections of drinks, app, entree and sides which I normally don't do. Had dinner here the other day because I was craving steak and to be completely honest I was a bit disappointed. The steak here is mediocre and Brussel sprouts tasted better than the bland steak. My sister's steak sandwich was OK... but nothing memorable. Definitely think I could get a better tasting meal for the same amount of money elsewhere. I seldom write comments but this one deserves my time. We ate (1st time) at your Kearney location around 5pm today and the server and food was fabulous. The most amazing part was the young man waiting on us. What a delight to see someone so young act like someone that has been in the restaurant business for 30 years. He greeted us, sat us, and waiting on us with great enthusiasm and knowledge that was beyond anyone I have ever experienced. I eat out and travel a lot. After visiting here the first time my next two visits were absolutely terrible. During my first visit I had a fried chicken sandwich which came out very dark, I got the truffle fries which had Parmesan on it but there was no flavor of truffle present at all, The portions on the fries were almost comical and how large they were. A word of advice if your food isn't that great giving people more of that food is not going to make up for that. The second visit I had a salmon Caesar salad which is the only reason they received two stars instead of one star because they were willing to oblige a specific menu request. The salmon came out over done and the rest of the salad came out as a wedge which they put on the broiler and left on too long so I had burnt wilted romain with overdone salmon for lunch. My first impression of this place was absolutely spectacular but after witnessing this I feel that looks can be deceiving. read more
