The food...Expecting good at a local not a chain place, in a small town with a relaxed college student vibe. We got...great. The first bite of that pepperoni pizza roll with the obviously fresh yeast bread dough roll, the meat sauce, the garlic cream sauce...then the fresh beer-battered fish and really good crispy french fries, and a home made cole slaw that's just about as good as my husband's late Southern grandma's cole slaw (which is really high praise.) The Lucky Seven pizza was also delicious with a perfect crust and big chopped veggies like mushrooms and peppers. Service was friendly and attentive; the decor is clean and on the more minimalist side while also comfortable and welcoming. Agree with all the other reviewers, this is absolutely an amazing experience--this meal will be one of the great memories of our road trip from Sugar Land, Texas (greater Houston area) to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore. read more

Aww, we had an amazing time at this sports bar. We were greeted right away, I think by the owner, and seated so we could watch our favorite football team the Chicago Bears. We had a good conversation and then ordered our food. My hubby and I started with the boneless chicken wings with the habanero honey sauce on the side and that was really, really delicious. I tried one of their local beers and that was really nice since I am not a beer drinker, but it was very crisp and nicely cold. We also ordered the Lucky pizza which was so dam delicious. Our waitress Dana was the best, thank you for you for your kindness and pleasant personality. If we are in the area again we will make this one of our stops. read more

We had a fantastic experience at Nebraska Ale Works! The Barq's Root Beer was ice cold, crisp, and absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restrooms were spotless, always a great sign. The food was clearly made with fresh ingredients. The side salad was humongous and beautifully fresh. The cup of chili was outstanding, packed with beef and beans in a hearty Rocky Mountain style with just the right amount of heat. The pizza was delicious, and the steak had gorgeous grill marks, juicy and tender just the way it should be. Pro tip: order the chili and beef pizza together! I'm only giving this 2 stars because the food was good and the beer selection was good, but the service at the bar was absolutely the worst I've experienced. My initial bartender was very helpful and attentive. He put in my initial drink order and my food order, but I sat at the bar with an empty glass for more than 30 minutes before anyone came back to the bar to check in. Stopped by Nebraska Ale Works with a couple of friends for a quick visit and really enjoyed it. Their beer menu was diverse with plenty of options to choose from. This is one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. We ordered takeout because we are traveling with our dog. Driving thru Nebraska, and stopped in here for dinner on a Tuesday. They were not very busy, lucky for us. The beer selection was good and cold. We tried a couple and really liked them. We really wanted to like this place. Reviews were good. The locals recommended it, but we were sorely disappointed. The greeter was diffident and expressionless. Our waiter was worse. We asked for a sample of two of their beers. Both were terribly bitter. (My husband owns a brew pub.) We decided to opt for wine--but they wanted $12 for a six-ounce pour of house wine. So--no wine. I finally ordered a seltzer--which was unceremoniously slammed onto the table in a can. We asked for a glass, which the waiter did retrieve for me-- but he was still seriously phlegmatic. My husband ordered the Ranch Water which was basically sugar. We ordered a pizza--which was pretty tasty, actually--but the terrible and borderline rude behavior of the staff made us feel like we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Great new addition to the Kearney restaurant scene, right off I-80 and smack dab in the middle of the hotel hub. The lineup of Nebraska brews is reason enough to stop. The menu is anything but limited, so it was hard to make a selection. Went with the Bison Meatloaf, and was not disappointed. Fries were crispy, and the bbq beans were solid. Poor service, poor attitude. Being ignored when tables seated after us were served, wasn't much fun. Having to remind our server that we were still waiting for our drinks (iced tea) was frustrating. Being brought tepid iced tea, and then offered excuses was annoying. The follow-up with ice in styrofoam cups was the last straw...if we had been offered straws...we weren't. It's ok, but they certainly aren't prepared to handle more than a few tables at a time. What I see is a crew trying and working hard and a management team that is failing them. I hope they are making a ton of money on their party room I see it as a major disruption pulling an already busy staff away. Now a review of the tap. After all it is called Nebraska Ale Works. So at least two taps are foam city, pour, wait, then pour valuable money down the drain. Then, fill glass some more, wait and drain off the foam. How about the hours who in the world that has a bar and restaurant in that area closes at 10 pm. There's a ton hotels, and conferences right there and they be turning business away. Despite the variety of food and the quality the slow service makes this a poor choice if you want an overall good experience. read more

We have eaten here twice during travel. It is near the motel we stayed in. Both times the wait staff has been very unfriendly and the food average. We got stuck in Nebraska over the 4th weekend and found this place near our hotel. We hadn't been eating the best and were hoping for something lighter. The outside looked inviting so we decided to give it a shot. It was a weekend but they sat us after about 5 to 10 minutes. The inside was very nice and had a good bar/dining mix. NAW had plenty of options on the menu and tasty looking salads. We got an IPA and a jalapeño cream ale which were both very good. The salads were both top tier which was exactly what we were hoping for. Service was super fast and friendly. The restaurant helped give the horrible day we had a little silver lining. Wow, not sure how a restaurant could mess up a basic order so badly. 3 pizzas, 2 orders wings. Every item had mistakes. Meat lovers pizza came with only 2 of the meats. Pepperoni and Cream cheese didn't have the cream cheese. Lucky 7 (Supreme) with no green peppers and added cream cheese came with no cream cheese and extra green peppers. Wings were ordered fried hard but came extra soggy/squishy. I'd say they were messing with us, but it was an online order and we' are from out of town, so it woulda been completely random. Only other option would be they're just not very good at what they do. As to the actual pizza, was Dominoes level quality at twice the price. read more
