She takes her time at the initial appointment and really listens to what you want, but also guides you using her expertise and knowledge of what will look good on your face. She took her time with me and really explained the whole process ahead of time. I've heard from friends who have gone elsewhere that micro blading was a horrible experience for them because it was super painful and it didn't last. My experience with Tara could not be further from that! While there were times when it did hurt, she would notice that I was in pain and she would numb me again (and take the time for the numbing cream to take affect!). The space is clean, beautiful and quiet, which really helps you to relax since you are laying down for quite some time. As of this review I've needed one touch up (Because I washed my face a whole bunch of times when I wasn't supposed to!) and when I went to get that touch up Tara asked if there was anything I would like to change or do more of which I thought was super thoughtful! She filled in my edges really nicely and used a technique called shading that I don't think most microblading artist even know how to do. I was unsure about the color she was going to use but it turned out perfectly as she informed me, "no one actually has black hair!" My first encounter with Val, I tripped across her website (her befores and afters are phenomenal!) and through prompt emails and setting up an appt, she showed up at my location and I entrusted her to do what she does best: bombshell transformations with sultry smokey eyes and effortlessly gorgeous hairstyles. Professional makeup artists vary in price from $100-$400 hair & makeup (about 2-3hrs). In my experiences, Val's rates can vary from $150-$350 w/gratuity depending on my location, her traveling to me or my going to her, my hairstyle curly/straight, air brush/regular foundation, etc. To request Val though, it is worth EVERY bit. She always takes such meticulous care in her work and I always receive compliments, at every turn, seems like. Unlike previous experiences, I never regret how much was spent to look and feel so confident as I do after her makeovers. I have had the absolute BEST experiences with makeup and hairstyles thanks to Val! Being Asian, it has always been so difficult to find an artist that made me truly feel as gorgeous and bombshell as the models I once admired on "Maxim," for example. I only use air brush (more costly, but very much worth it). There are just not enough words of praise that I could share except that I hope other every day women like myself can share in a makeover experience(s) as I have, now that I have revealed my glam "secret. " I may not be a hot rod magazine model, but with the right duds and Val, I can sure feel like one for a day/evening out. Side note: When I'm out and about, I'm a no-fuss girl and I rarely, if ever, touch up. From the look of my photos with friends after Val's work, my makeup and hair holds up so well! She arms me with a few lipglosses, blotters/powder fixes and I'm set. I have spent hundreds with trial and tests with other makeup artists from Hollywood to Vegas, and the end result is always my returning (and often begging) to Val that I need her expert talent!
