I felt at home. Today's morning was bad time for me. My compainion, the man siting at the table with me just broke up with me before taking me for breakfast. It seemed like the entire downtown was a ghost town with nothing open, and not a person in sight, then The Only Cafe appeared out of the fog with a hopping patio, and music blaring from inside, seeping out the open windows. The layout is very interesting with the side patio, with filtered light coming through the foilage along the west side, perfect for a lovely late afternoon setting sun. We sat inside where there are small two-tops, with each table having a cute lamp and plenty of artwork to ogle while you eat. I ordered a grilled cheese and side salad, which were great! Looking like something I would make for myself, the grilled cheese was on German rye bread and the salad was basic lettuce, peppers and tomato and absolutely delicious! The IPA they served up on tap went perfectly with my food, adding the bitterness to the sweet salad flavours bringing me absolute joy. Worth the trip to Peterborough and The Kawarthas!
