At the time of the visit, I was wearing a temporary splint placed by urgent care and was experiencing pain and swelling. I informed Dr. Graham that I did not feel the splint was fitting properly and asked for guidance regarding appropriate immobilization. I was told that the splint "looked fine." When I expressed continued concern, I was advised to purchase a brace from Amazon and to work on making a fist so that my hand would not become stiff. I was not provided with a specific recommendation regarding the type of brace that should be used, nor was I given detailed instructions regarding activity restrictions or warning signs to monitor. Most concerning, I was instructed to return in four months. I specifically asked whether the intended follow-up interval was four weeks, and I was informed that it was indeed four months. A four-month follow-up appointment was subsequently scheduled. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of preventing stiffness and promoting recovery. However, I left the appointment feeling dismissed and without clear guidance regarding the management of an acute fracture. My concerns were not adequately addressed, and I remain troubled by the absence of earlier follow-up or imaging to evaluate healing and alignment. I respectfully request that this encounter be reviewed and that I be provided with clarification regarding the rationale for the treatment plan and follow-up interval. Review for Nicklous Godley, PA -- Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute…read more this is my first review and I'm almost 70 years old I have been in chronic, excruciating hip pain since September 2024 and have been under JOI's care since November 2024. At my initial visit, I was diagnosed with bursitis and sent to Brooks Rehab for 11 sessions. After completing the rehab, I received no follow-up, no feedback, and no guidance on next steps. Months later, I found out my provider had quit -- but no one at JOI ever contacted me or continued my care. I was left in pain with nowhere to turn. Today, I had an appointment with Physician Assistant Nicklous Godley, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disheartening and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever had. From the moment he learned I wasn't ready to move forward with surgery, his demeanor completely changed. He became dismissive, cold, and disengaged. I explained that I've been waking up every night in pain and asked multiple times for him to complete an FMLA form so I wouldn't face consequences at work while trying to manage this condition. He refused, saying that I'm not a patient of his and that JOI would only consider FMLA after I scheduled surgery -- even though I've been with JOI for nearly a year. In the middle of the conversation, he did say, "I'm sorry this sounds so harsh," but by that point, the damage was done. His words and tone felt completely lacking in empathy. I came in desperate for relief and left feeling ignored and deeply disappointed. There is no continuity of care here, no accountability, and no real concern for what the patient is going through. I cannot recommend Nicklous Godley to anyone seeking compassion, understanding, or true medical support. I felt like he was a used car salesman if he wasn't gonna be able to close a deal by scheduling me with some sort of surgery! He brought up knee surgery back surgery and completely turn very rude and cold because I was not interested in surgery ! horrible experience today He asked and I quote "why are you here if you're not scheduling a surgery" Do your homework before you pick out this guy terrible experience Horrible bedside manner.

First off, the doctors and nurses here would get five stars easily. Every doctor and PA I've seen has been excellent, careful, willing to spend time explaining things. However...this facility has massive staffing issues. You literally cannot get anyone to answer the phone here. I showed up for a morning appointment recently, and the line to check in was 40 people deep, curling all the way around a pretty large room, with maybe three staffers actually working while the rest milled around. I had an afternoon appointment a couple months before that, and when I went to the lobby to check out and schedule a follow-up, there was literally one person working with ten patients waiting. I'm not sure what's going on, but they need to invest in hiring maybe twice as many folks to support the great doctors and nurses here. Otherwise this practice will grind to a halt.

I was diagnosed and have received underwhelming care and attention. Today, I went in for a 5th visit. I'm asked by the staff and doctor if I came in for a shot. I say, "Sure." Then, when I see the PA, I ask again about what are my options and plans for further knee solutions instead of just a shot? She has to look at my chart and leaves. Deja Vu, this is what happened during my last visit. *Maybe looking at my chart and being somewhat familiar with my situation after being a client for over a year would be nice and make me feel as if I have a doctor who is involved. Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I've read the other reviews and am glad others have had a great experience. Perhaps if I was getting surgery, I would get more service.

Each location is staffed with multiple doctors who specialize in various aspects of PT. This location specializes in sports injuries. Being located with the YMCA is sweet. They encourage one to follow up with a healthy lifestyle. They also share a small headed, indoor pool for aquatic physical therapy. Which is the bomb for us in LOTS of pain. They even offer a free month membership to the YMCA after one is healed. And the YMCA has a sliding monthly payment for us poor folks. One can even apply for financial assistance for an even lower monthly membership. The pool and locker room are terrific. One might as well enjoy themselves as they recover from an injury.

Everything runs like clockwork, however I do find I am not always brought back start on time. It's usually about a 5 minute delay. The staff are usually multi tasking, which is fine by me. I don't need someone over me. My therapist and I work well together. He's very nice and intuitive the exercises or stretches I need. They share the facility with YMCA. I don't use the equipment within Brooks. I use the pool. It's getting remodeled Mid-Sept 2018, so hopefully that will look good. However, it's not Brooka so it doesn't effect this rating.

We have found two other AO Drs in our area, but their level of care just does not compare to that of Dr. Mark Pierce Chiropractic. Their more all-natural approach to chiropractic care (Atlas Orthogonal) was known to my husband but foreign to me. I instantly felt relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Pierce. My X-rays showed that my spine was indeed out of alignment, most likely due to everyday living - poor posture and sleep habits. And Dr. Pierce instantly noticed that my atlas was "red hot" and asked if I ever felt discomfort there (at the base of the neck). I said, "Of course, all of the time. I get migraines at least twice a month, but I thought that was just me." Well after my first adjustment, I felt relief in that area for the first time since I was a young teenager. I had become so used to that constant pain and migraines that I did not know what it felt like to be relieved of that pressure. We continued to see Dr. Pierce frequently until my alignment held (the body will kick it out and go back to its old ways if not properly maintained at first).
