I had two appointments with him pre-surgery and he put me quite at ease with his bedside manner and competency. His staff was very nice and they too expressed that if they needed the surgery they would trust him to take care of them. So surgery was last Friday at UF North and of course like most doctors things were running behind so I had to wait my turn. No big deal except for being hungry. When it was time for surgery the anesthesia doctors were very nice and explained everything. I had a nerve block and then some sleepy time meds and the next thing you know I was done and in recovery asking for some snacks and ginger ale. The recovery nurse was so nice, she said I have chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin granola bars and my response was YES! She started laughing. I won't go into the pain etc, you can go to YouTube and see all the whiners about that stuff. One thing for sure, all this velcro on this sling and sling fanny pack thing is itchy as hell and someone should come up with something to cover this crap. Not sure using pantyliners is outdoor acceptable, but kitchen towels are too heavy and scarfs are too hot. Velcro...my only complaint!

Plus not the cleanest place I have been . Killed a coach roach in our room that wasn't cleaned up for at least two days. pro tip: And do not transfer late on a Friday afternoon. My father was transferred in and there was No to greet us and tell us what was next. Lack of communication and Care for the weekend. Once Monday came around they started providing care. We were not happy at all. Moved to home care just to get out of that place

My mother in law was admitted to Lanier Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville, FL after a partial…read morehip replacement. My husband and I are very impressed with Lanier. The Director of Nursing, Dawn Thompson, is very involved in the day to day operations of the center. She is very approachable and listens to the relatives of the patients and finds solutions to their concerns and takes great care in making sure the center's patients are well taken care of. The staff is very professional, caring and very helpful. As soon as we approach the nurses station, they acknowledge you right away and assist you with your needs. Special mention goes to Daniel Fernandez, their CNA. He is so patient and caring and even though some patients are demanding, he takes everything in stride and helps them in every way he can. Also kudos to Stephanie Jones, RN. She is so professional and helpful not only in taking care of the patients but also stays in touch with the patients loved ones to make sure they are updated with what is going on. It is no wonder it receives a five start rating on the medicare.gov website.

The staff and therapists are truly there for the child's best interest. Parent training and community trips have been a huge factor in helping our family as a whole!
