I think there are 3 good PTs here and Elizabeth is definitely one of them. Seriously, Elizabeth is amazing. I would only go to her. Only. The management really needs to do something about the younger therapists and front staff. It's bothersome. They're arrogant and if they don't want to be there they don't need to be. It ruins everything there. I see them work with people and they are not happy. This review would be 5 for Elizabeth. Front desk staff ruins it.

When she went in to have her staples removed, a nurse/medical assistant named Hailey came in and roughly yanked her leg open, causing her immediate pain. This inappropriate handling resulted in a deep, bleeding hematoma at the surgical site. When confronted, Hailey admitted what she had done and said she was simply "in a bad mood" and "didn't want to be at work." Despite this shocking admission, she was only reprimanded and continues to work directly with patients. My colleague has tried to obtain an incident report from the office manager and filed a complaint with JOI Patient Relations, but has received no response from either. She is now left in pain, with a large hematoma requiring a second opinion and more out-of-pocket costs--while the clinic has not offered help or follow-up. We both work in healthcare and would never treat a patient this way, especially someone recovering from major surgery. The lack of accountability and patient safety oversight at JOI is deeply concerning.

Suddenly, for no knowable reason whatsoever, my leg just locked up and wouldn't bend or straighten. Oh, and it hurt like hizzle. Heartland Rehab in Riverside saved my life! Or my leg. Either/or! Both! I was prescribed one month of physical therapy to fix my bum leg, and fix it they did. Before I started PT someone told me how nice PT could be... you get messaged, people fawn all over you, making your problems their problems. For one little hour you don't have to worry about things while these wonderful therapists worry for you. I had Ronata as my therapist and she was great. She taught me all kinds of exercises to strengthen my knee, she told me jokes, she gave my knee some amazing massages [best part about PT, hands down] AND she even prescribed me to have my husband give me massages every night. HA! Take that husband. It is a prescription. You have to do it! The facilities are nice with a view of the St. Johns River. You can continue to use their gym even after your PT is over for a membership fee, if you so please. I haven't tried that myself, already being a member of the YMCA, but I think it would be a great choice for someone recovering from an injury.

I thought I was coming to her for "fitness pilates" but in fact that is not what I needed or wanted. With her keen eye, intuition, and experience she has identified ways in which my body was compensating that really could have developed into major issues when I get older. I am so happy to be working on them now with her to prevent long term issues. All while still developing muscle and definition that pilates naturally brings. Anna provides exceptional instruction, in that she gives wonderful cues and explains the movements incredibly well. I have done pilates before coming to Anna, but she goes the extra mile with helping me to understand exactly how to do the movement. The way she corrects me is one of things I value the most about her. I can do pilates at home, but I know I will be doing a lot of things wrong. With her I can learn how my body is unconsciously compensating for certain weaknesses or ingrained movements, i.e., gripping my glutes, using one leg more than the other, tucking my pelvis, flaring my ribs, etc. In learning these I can feel more confident in my ability to do home workout's when I do have the opportunity to do them. I have also worked with Sonja and Lynn before Anna and I can say that they are exceptional as well and I look forward to working with them when Anna is not available. Everyone at Synergy Studio is warm and welcoming. Kim will greet you with the biggest smile when you walk in. I am not one of those people who just love to work out, but going to the studio is one of my favorite times of the day.

No one called ahead of time to inform me, and no one updated me while I was sitting there waiting. It was a complete lack of respect for my time. On my second visit, things only got worse. Dr. Burns came across as arrogant, belligerent, and very disrespectful. Instead of feeling heard or cared for as a patient, I felt dismissed and spoken down to. His attitude was unprofessional and unacceptable. Patients deserve basic communication, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Hip pain was really back pain- Dr Gall specializes in spine. Also their scheduling department must suck- because my appointments would get scheduled and then within 24 hours I would get a text that my appointment was cancelled. This happened 3x! For this appointment I think his nurse called me to correct my appointment- I was scheduled in the wrong office! The irony is that I am waiting for insurance approval for the next step and as I am writing this I am thinking I should call- because who knows how prompt they will be in scheduling after obtaining approval.... sigh. My overall experience with this practice is 2 to 3 stars- but this location/staff/doc did deserve 4 stars- I will update if warranted.
