Adorable shop! I feel so happy whenever I can come here. I just learned CorAzoN is dog friendly, so that's a huge plus and I totally look forward to bringing my pooch here soon. I also learned that the previous owner of Bibelot helped train a lot of the employees here, Goodthings along with Patina which totally makes sense as each of these stores have similar decorating and energy but varying products. CorAzoN sells all the things you never knew you needed. Today I purchased two ballpoint pens, a pet squishy toy, and an adult giant sticker book with over 1,000 stickers. I am so glad this little fun shop is open. The gals inside were very pleasant, chatty and fun. Truly is what makes a good experience!!! Plus they have darling things. Great little gifts, toys for kids, something for the man in your life and all kinds of other fun stuff. And!!!! They are not over priced like some other stores. Which help me shop more often here. Excuses from the beginning, I should have known. I can't speak on quality because this Valentine's gift never came. Almost a week later sending me emails with the same excuses. I love this stupid store - it usually always gets some of my money somehow. First of all - dog friendly, plus one star . Dog and cat centric nick nacks to sucker pet parents in - right at the door , very clever placement Corazon, plus one more . Stupidly cute random crap for my kitchen / cooking experience, another . Crystal jewelry, locally made whatever and finally a small clearance corner plus - yes parking is meh, but it's there, ... Don't come during prime meal time hours or you'll be fighting the Longfellow's Grill patrons for spaces. read more

Wandered in while waiting to meet a friend before hitting the Longfellow Grill. While the store is very quaint and packed with unique gifts, I just couldn't get over the price tag for some of the items. Yes, I 'm aware its going for more of a boutique- hand crafted unique gift feel- I must not fall in that demographic. A lot of their "hip, elegant" and eclectic items come with quite the elegant price tag. Don't get me wrong, the store is very cute, just very- over priced in my opinion and there was nothing that particularly caught my eye as something I had to have or would love to give as a gift. I had been wanting to stop into Corazon for many years. I popped in here recently for a brief visit and noted that it had many of the same offerings you might find at Bibelot or Patina nearby. Jewelry, Clothing geared towards middle-aged ladies, chldren's toys and cards and stationary. I was sad to note that nearby to the children's toys they also had a display of raunchy, racy or as they say "edgy" greeting cards. Needless to say I was not impressed with the judgment or taste of the management. After posting a negative review on Facebook the owners promptly took it down and sent me several PMs on Facebook which I feel demonstrated a lack of tact, judgment and crossed personal boundaries while illustrating poor customer service, best business practices and professionalism. After finding an image of one card online I asked my friends and family members of their thoughts..... ranging from "shocking"to "inappropriate" amongst a load of more strongly worded things down to the more mundane of "I can't think of a single person I would send that to" If you want to support this small business, be me guest, as for me, I can't recommend it. read more

Patina needs to take a good long look at CorAzoN (especially in terms of customer service) for some pointers. I know that Patina is held in a super high regard in this area, but I just don't get it. Their employees always act like they have somewhere better to be and 90% of their merchandise is just overpriced gift basket filler. This CorZaoN is small, but everything they carry is really high quality and feels one-of-a-kind (some of it is) and unique. You won't find $10 head scratchers here and you won't walk out feeling like you just wasted your time. Most importantly, the staff are helpful but give you your space (I hate going into tiny stores only to feel like I'm being watched the entire time because there is absolutely nothing else to occupy the employee's time.) The parking is kind of questionable - there is customer-only parking which is usually full, but there are other spots right next to those. I'm not sure if they belong to the condos above the stores because they aren't marked, so I always wonder if I'm going to get towed if I park in them. So, four stars it is. read more

CoraZon is like a more-original Patina. They carry more stuff from local artists, have great sales and a huge variety of products. I love the Lake street location because it's by my house and the parking is easy. My favorite things they carry are the greeting cards. This is in part because i am poor and in college, and greeting cards are affordable. But they carry my favorite line, which is made locally, called Maybe You Should Die (their cards read things like "Happy Chocolate & Blow Jobs Day!" They also carry beautiful letterpress cards. There are a ton of other pretty things they sell, from housewares, clothes and jewelery, but there is no time or room to review those things as well. read more

Minneapolis was my home, but I live in Northern California now. When I'd come back and needed a unique gift I used to stop at Corazon on Washington Avenue and was never disappointed. Truth be told, I would always end up buying something for myself and my daughter as well because the selections were fun, creative and unusual. When I lived in MInneapolis 8 years ago I used to shop at Bibelot or Patina, but when I found Corazon on one of my first trips back, I stopped going to those places because Susan and her staff were just more friendly and there were more one-of-a-kind and handcrafted gems at Corazon. My last trip back to the Twin Cities in September, I learned that they'd moved locations. Bummer for me because, no longer being a native, I prefer to stick to places in downtown or Uptown where I'm most familiar. But...I wanted to go to Corazon. So with a couple of hours to kill on my way to the airport to catch my flight back to SFO, I plugged Corazon's new address in my GPS and off I ventured to their Lake Street location down by the river. I'm glad I did. The parking was a little odd, being just a few spots around the corner, but not a real problem. And there was Corazon, in it's new location, filled up with wonderful cards, home items, jewelry, books, art pieces and other things that just made me happy to be near! I browsed a bit, picked up a few things for myself and one gift for a friend and zipped back to the airport and back to California. Thanks for Corazon for being one of the places I love to visit (and buy from) when I'm back home! read more

First time here (went to the Lake St location, but per the website, Washington Ave is closing anywho): just awesome. They carry some of my most favorite cards companies, including Red Cap cards and Egg Press (among others.. if you are a paper nerd, you will be pleased). I also liked all of the items by MN companies and artists. From pottery to matted prints, candles and books, kitchenware, barware, and aprons, they have so many things and I want for myself. And, okay, to give as gifts too. Some of the stuff had a mod feel, but a lot of it is more kitschy, handmade modern. I recommend. Parking stinks. But again, Minneapolis, blah blah, always the same w that issue. read more

I've never been too big into the whole gift shop idea; I mostly find them to be sorta obnoxious and overwhelming. However, Corazon is just a great store. I was bummed to hear that the downtown location was closing, but did take advantage of the markdowns, and found plenty of gems over the past week. I'm pretty convinced that Corazon is one of the very best places to find interesting unique handmade jewlery in the twin cities. I love that the employees are always quick to give you the background on each piece and the artist who made it, it makes the whole experience and the piece of jewlery that much more fun. I've found some great cook books, along with several other good reads. I also picked up some very nice organic tea and some great all natural cleaning products. read more

wow. My mea culpa that I had forgot about Corazon. I needed something for a 2 year olds birthday party tommorow and I was stuck on what that was going to be. I all of a sudden remembered Corazon-- I had no trouble parking on a sidestreet--- the mixed use space does not have that much parking, but then again if it did-- it would be a big ugly parking ramp- so it is what it should be. I walked in an within like 5 seconds I saw a great basket of stuffed kitties-- perfect. Done. Got a nice gift bag with tissue. Quick and easy, and wished I had more time to look around. These types of specialty retail need to survive more than Walgreens, Barnes and Noble or Target---Shop at these one-of-a-kind locavore stores-- and keep your money in the local independents--especially on lonely east lake street!!! read more

For whatever reason, the Twin Cities has a bounty of cute shops selling cards and gift items (I still refer to these places, erroneously, as "fancy soap shops"). Both the Bibelot and Patina are multi-store behemoths, and despite the rivalry they basically carry the same (overpriced) merchandise. Corazon is different. Its location is small and the selection of products feels curated not only out of necessity, but also out of inspiration. Sure you can find a funny (and occasionally obscene) card or a present for that person in your life who has everything, but there are lots of wonderfully unique items in the mix. Things you can't find anywhere else in the city. That's not entirely surprising given that the store also occasionally sells art and high-end craft. As other Yelpers have noted, customer service is truly exceptional. read more

This place is awesome. Such a large space for handmade crafty merchandise mixed with quality goods for the home and bath mixed with art pieces mixed with gifts for the kids. It appears as though the long awaited cultural revitalization on the riverfront is indeed coming to be. If you like what the Bibelot Shops are trying to achieve in local commerce but prefer the inventory at I Like You!, this is the store for you. If that last statement meant nothing to you, you should visit each of those three shops and tell me if you agree. Until then, I highly recommend CorAzoN, despite the bothersome capitalization, for all your locally made artsy gift needs. read more

This is my go-to place for cards and MN merchandise. There's a steady rotation of beautiful and unique jewelry, baby gifts, stationary, animal accessories, kitchen gifts, cookbooks, art books, and a small selection of clothing/shoes. I feel a little bad writing this review update.....I still LOVE Corazon. Their handpicked inventory is amazing. And I know that leases, and rents, and landlords are things a shop owner(s) can't control.... BUT I really miss the old store and location. It's just not the same. It seems like the inventory has changed a little too - lacking some of the homespun edginess that came naturally before they moved down the street. Overall Corazon is still worth a visit, but good luck with parking.... I'm told that somewhere there exists free parking but I still have yet to find it. read more

This place is simply a diamond in the rough, in every sense of the cliche. Hands down the best gift shop I have visited. Absolutely amazing selection of cards and very unique gifts for those hard to shop for folks. They are a small, family owned business and the owner Susan is as sweet as it gets, even by Minny standards! They have events all the time supporting local artists and are extremely dog friendly.
