First time in Brisbane and Corbett & Claude had great Trip Advisor reviews so we gave it a shot and it was pretty good. We had the spaghetti bolognese because we heard the gnocchi was GF and not the best of options with the prosciutto pizza. The pizza could have been cooked longer so it was a bit soggy but still tasty. The spaghetti bolognese had a great presentation but could have used a bit more flavor but I think I'm biased because I use Italian sausage instead of beef in my bolognese so it typically is a more flavorful meat. The service was great, they stopped by often to ask if we were good or needed anything else and the vibe is definitely hipster chic!

Principessa front and center. Tray of cocktails

Super pizza in a fun inviting atmosphere. As a dinner event with work colleagues we ate and drank more than we should have. But SO glad we did! The cocktail menu is not to be missed. The Principessa was very good, but a bit too sweet for my liking. I would prefer to be able to taste the gin more. However the drink is stunningly beautiful albeit in an undestated glass. Appetizers were chips with yummy truffle sauce, halloumi chips and cauliflower. The truffle sauce was outstanding. Pizzas included The Fireman and Italian Sausage. The fireman was great and packed a punch of heat. The Italian sausage was far from being greasy, but lacked a bit of flavor. The di latte moz saved the dish and made it worthy, but not great. The variety of liquor at the was a pleasant surprise.

Cute little semi underground restaurant bar, healthy choice of salads, unique pizzas and amazing pastas. I personally indulged on a chicken salad with added halloumi and the halloumi was divine, the pesto pasta seemed to have cheese in the pasta itself which is an amazing touch, the pizzas were to spicy for my taste but my friends enjoy it, great little bar, would recommend for a private little lunch.

Corbett & Claude is a lovely Italian joint in Brisbane. We always make it a point to visit this place every time we make a trip to Brissy for work. This restaurant never disappoints and it's a must-try if you're ever in the CBD. The aroma of pizza that hits you once you enter is enough to make your mouth water! The atmosphere here is absolutely lovely and the staff provided exceptional service. If you ever have the chance, please drop by to try one of their pizzas from their wide selection and also their Nutella Espresso Martini! We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning in the future.

I have never been so well looked after here at C & C! I was so impressed with the professionalism & genuine hospitality that the wait staff gave my private party from the time we arrived to the time we left. The food came out in good time & there were no complaints around the table of everyone else food :) The burnt butter sage pasta is a winner for sure! Service 5/5 Food 4/5 Private dining: little private dining room away from the bar and restaurant area Parking: secure parking based on hourly rates or street parking - keep in mind that the entrance is quite hidden ! You have to go down an alleyway until your see their signs and reach the entrance. If there wasn't a sign on the main pathway I think it would be quite hard to find.

    Opening soon!

Good Morning, Mr Claude. Aren't you just a dashing new addition to the CBD with your polished concrete floors, white walls, and All Press coffee? I'm glad I took a little time this morning to get to know you and your quick-as-a-button breakfast menu. My breakfast bowl (yoghurt, fresh fruit and granola) was the light healthy start to the day I needed and paired with a long black, I perched at the long communal table and felt right at home. Add in your collection of magazines worth reading (hello, Fete Press) and it's Game. Set. Match. Let's take it to a second date where you show me your full restaurant and bar menu for a lunch time rendezvous? Tip: This new spot is already earning lines out the door for take-away coffees. Don't let that line deter you. It moves at lightening speed!

We decided to stop in our first night in Brisbane. I unfortunately had a little jet lag so I didn't have much of an appetite but even with that I can say this place is a must to visit. We picked it because they had gluten free gnocchi, which I have been craving forever. They definitely did not disappoint. Perfect little pillows of pasta goodness with a hearty meat sauce on top and a little Parmesan. My husband got the original cigar (basically a rolled up pizza) that he lived. It had huge chunks of meat in it and lots of gooey cheese. The ambiance was very nice and I absolutely loved the decor. They also had great happy hour drink specials, so it's worth popping in just for a drink.

So its December, the time of year every restaurant is packed and you've somehow managed to get a table at the (relatively) new restaurant on the block, and a day before your lunch half the party cancels... Problem? Not for Corbett and Claude. I walked down the stairs and literally into the hostesses arms who greeted me like a long lost friend and couldnt do enough to make sure we had a good time. Attentive staff all around, but not pushy (yay,  i am too reserved to deal with pushy), do we need drinks, offered time to order but we had all scoped out our orders pretty quick and were ready to go within minutes of being seated. These guys use iPads to manage theoe tables! Awesome idea! Never again a lost meal. Food, full of flavour, crisp grilled haloumi, crunchy chips sprinkled with parmesan, an actual spicy chipolte aioli was my delicious meal. Whilst these are really an entree no one blinked an eye when i ordered them as a main! These guys actually specialise in Pizza and who doesnt love pizza! Many types to choose from, i think I will have to try one next time! I was given a slice of pepperoni pizza to try and it was lovely, crisp thin base plenty if sauce and pepperoni with just a hint of cheese. And if your looking for somewhere to have a cheeky lunch time drink the cocktails look amazing and they have cider on tap! I plan on making this a regular 'treat' lunch venue.

This is a funky little place down towards Eagle Street. Head down an alley and you'll find the entrance, down a small set of stairs and into the warm embrace of the bar. We rocked up on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty, so no trouble getting a seat. The other people there was a large group who were catered for with a long table. Staff were friendly, and the food came out pretty quick. I got my usual, ham and pineapple, and we're talking delicious shaved ham, and big chunks of fresh pineapple. Drinks were in proper glasses, and good sized ones at that. I'd probably try a different pizza next time, as although it wasn't bad, the middle section was too soggy and fell apart. Don't bring any cash, because they don't accept it. Eftpos/credit only, and they are more than happy to split bills in any way you'd like! I reckon I'll be back.

The four of us are from California traveling Down Under. We had our very first meal to celebrate at Corbett & Claude. We LOVE the atmosphere of this place! The pizzas that we had were so scrumptious! And our host from Italy (I'm sorry we didn't get his name) was so much fun! We are Deaf but he was so accommodating! (But, of course, Italians are experts at hand gestures!).

Margherita pizza with BBQ sauce and brie $15

Deco/Interior - Cool space that felt like it was 'underground.' Nice soft lighting, great for groups. Kind of quiet, I mean when I went in, all I heard were people chattering in hushed voices and I couldn't hear any music so felt like it was closed. So at the time, it didn't feel like it had a lively atmosphere. Service - Decent enough, was served by a man who gave us the menu but didn't even look at me, he only gave "instructions" on how to order to my friend. Now I'm not one to want all the attention, however if there is a table with multiple customers and u need to tell them something about the menu or the venue, then you should make eye contact with everyone. Just glance around, it makes a big difference. But in terms of taking our orders and getting them right, it was all good. Food - I had the Margherita pizza and had the sauce changed from tomato to BBQ then added Brie. No problems with the order, no questions asked. I loved the flavour of the pizza and the fact that it's crisp and so wasn't heavy to eat. BUT some parts of it were burnt black. I was picking the black parts off all night. And no, I couldn't be botheredy sending it back. I ate most of it anyway hahaha Overall, it was an OK experience. I'd like to go again to check the consistency of the service and food.

Only catch is, you can only get in if you're a traveller or student (ID/Passport required) and if you're a girl. Although we have snuck the odd guy in with a bunch of girls with much success. It helps if you know the bouncer. They play music with the likes of Love Shack, Horny, Addicted to Bass and a lot of songs popular all over the world with the kids in the 90s era. They do go back to Dancing Queen and Mr Wendal as well and boy can you boogy to the tunes of this place. Be prepared to have some form of alcohol spilt on your fancy clothes every time you go there. Be prepared for people dancing on tables (even though they've banned it). Be prepared to body squish your way from the dance floor to the toilets and then back to the dancefloor with very willing body squichers - usually from Braz-eeeel (Brazil) and write a note on the wall to your ex-lover in the toilets and pretty much throughout the whole bar, on the walls, on the furniture... everywhere. Leave your memory here for free. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts, yes it's not posh, it's rather backpackery... but that's how we would like it to stay. Join in the songs with your hearts and hands and sing and dance to the wee hours to an awesome DJ with various glow in the dark articles through his hair. People have fun here, and that's what being young and travelling the world is supposed to feel like. Footloose and fancy free.

But the layout of the place is even better! It is a basement bar, half of it outside and the other half kind-of-inside. The food is good, not amazing, but you can't expect amazing in such a central, tourist-y area. I had the wings and they're a solid 8/10, at least. Service was great too. However, like most of the pubs in the CBD, this one does close quite early (though late enough that I was able to slip in here for a drink one night). There is nothing fancy or flash about this pub - expect the standard beers on tap - no craft beers. It also has a pokies area and a bistro, though there is a pool table tucked away in one corner. The beer garden is pretty cool as well, but unfortunately for the smokers it is not the designated smoking area. During the day it does get fairly crowded (though I have never noticed anybody out in the beer garden, despite it being a pretty nice day), but it was fairly quiet when I was there.

But sometimes it's good to get reckless and a bit silly over some beers and some really, really terrible love music. Irish Murphy's doesn't necessarily have bad music (I'm also a sucker for an accent, especially Irish) but they certainly have the collective crowd keen on getting drunk and roaring along to an inaudible and stereotypically perfect karaoke song. Maybe it's the fact that Irish Murphy's adopts an appearance actually like an Irish pub, but I can't help but have a little fondness for it. I have to search for the fondness a little but believe me, it's there. It's just an ideal place to gather around a table and sling back a few casual (or not so casual) beers and get a little messy and fun. And when you've had a few, who can't join in with the crooning and tuning of the blokes on stage? The beer's fairly cheap, the company's not half bad, and the entertainment isn't sot stale either. I'm not trying to sound begrudging here, because like I said, I do have a soft spot for Irish Murphy's. I just like to be with a larger group of people and get a little silly in the name of fun. If you're after slurry banter and Irish accents, Irish Murphy's is the place to be.
