I had never used a pilates…read morereformer but the teacher was very helpful and accommodating to someone who had no clue what they were doing. The class is very small but it allows for individual attention from the teacher. I consider myself to be in decent shape but there were some things in this class I could barely do! I mean that in a good way the class was great and definitely an intense workout, I was sore for almost 5 days afterwards. The classes are a bit pricey but I think it is worth it since the classes are so small.

I always seems to hobble out while feeling great at the same time. The instructors at The Pilates Room are clearly sadists and thoroughly enjoy watching others in pain. But, that's the fun of pilates and personal instruction. The method of instruction is quite traditional and the way they set up sessions ensures that you will always be challenged. Everyone is required to take 6 private lessons when they first join the studio so that the instructors can teach necessary movements and techniques while they evaluate your level. Thereafter you are able to move into semi-private lessons with a total of two or three students (a little easier on the wallet) if you wish. You are matched with other students at your level so that you can move through the exercises together with no one person struggling to keep up or waiting for the others to catch-up. They studio has lots of equipment which is all well taken care of. Occasionally on particularly warm days the space can stink of sweat, but if you open the large sliding doors you'll soon be able to breathe again. While it's massively expensive because you either have to do one-on-one sessions or semi-privates, it's worth every penny. I'm completely addicted!

Finally I settled on Vinyasa Flow, as it's description seemed closest to the Power Yoga style which I really enjoy. And it was perfect. The centre is tucked away in a cute little laneway in South Kensington. It's clean, warm and well-equipped with mats, blankets, blocks, everything you need to support your practice. The staff and instructors are all incredibly helpful and friendly too. I will definitely be back for more Vinyasa :)

The woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive, and the teacher was an absolute nightmare. Instead of the warm and encouraging attitude you would normally expect from a yoga teacher, this woman snapped at people if they did something wrong, and I even saw her grabbing and pulling on someone's pony tail to correct their posture. Further the class was only focused on hamstring stretches, which ended up being very painful towards the end of the 60 minute class. If anyone needed to take a break, you would immediately be scolded by the yoga nazi. Very unprofessional - will not be returning.

The instructor, Gok, is awesome. Full of energy, extremely fit, and cool. Being my first time, Gok was patient to show me the ropes and correct my form. There are 10 students per class, and is open to all levels - you can work as hard as you wish. The studio is clean and modern. Pilates reformer classes are on the ground floor, and the TRX and Barre classes are held on the lower ground floor. Although I didn't try the Pilates class yet, I had a quick peek into the studio and was quite impressed with their equipment. The reformers are up to date and appeared brand new. The woman working the reception was very friendly and will give you a quick tour of the studio upon checking in. The unisex locker room is open plan and very clean. Each locker has a key, so you don't need to bring your own lock. Also, towels and filtered water are provided. There is even a shower. Overall, I had a fantastic first time experience. I would recommend giving it a try if you want a hardcore workout.

It is a little confusing that there isn't a front desk to check in. When I arrived I opened the door to the waiting area and a few women were sitting there. I knew I was going to be tired the next day. Ban showed us how to do the exercises and encouraged us along the way. The locker rooms are very nice and there is water and towels in the workout room.

Misleading, unfair and possibly fraudulent…read more Do NOT trust 1Rebel. My experience as a 19-year-old student was a nightmare - and I want to warn others before they lose hundreds like I did. - In November 2024, I joined 1Rebel after being told I could buy 10 sessions for £144 - with no mention of a long-term contract. I followed the instructions and paid. I attended 6 sessions and that should have been the end of it. - In March 2025, I bought a further 10 sessions for £220. Then, without any authorisation, 1Rebel charged that card £144 four times - a total of £720 in just two days - for a '12-month contract' that I was never told about, that I never agreed to and that I never signed. - When I complained in person I was told I was supposedly entering into a 12 month contract - something I never saw, signed or agreed to. We were never notified in advance of the recurring charges and they charged a completely different card to the one used for the original purchase. What is happening now? It has been almost 4 months and I still have not received my money back. There has been 1 phone call and 12 emails between me and 1Rebel and still no resolution. No refund and no compensation. All my complaints against 1Rebel have been either ignored or misrepresented: - I claimed it was against the Consumer Rights Act to make bulk transactions if the transactions were to be made monthly - 1Rebel said it was probably because my card was not working during those months (my card was working, it is the only card I use in my day to day life) - I claimed that when I purchased what I didn't know was a membership there was no warning about the cancellation policy and refund policy. - 1Rebel sent me screenshots claiming there were warnings about the policy, I went on my phone, my laptop, through the website and the app to check if this was true and it was not, STILL there were no warnings. - I was told I shouldn't have any questions as it was all in the T&Cs. - The only time I saw these T&Cs was when I created a 1Rebel account... in 2023!!!!!!! If you are forcing people to sign a contract for 12 months you should at least have some warning that it is a trap and you can't cancel until the contract is fulfilled. I am still trying to fight for justice and my rights... Avoid 1Rebel at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They trap customers in hidden contracts, charge unauthorised fees, and ignore your rights. There are much better, more ethical fitness providers in London. I have heard a lot of similar cases lately and am now collecting them to prepare a class action lawsuit and complaint to the consumer protection regulators. If you have encountered such violations, write to me at 1rebelfraud@gmail.com and together we will retain our rights and demand compensation

I thought the place itself, while it clearly was trying to be like "chic grungy" came across as just not that nice - I would have liked nicer/posher amenities for the price. The one nice touch were the chilled towels, but everything else came across as very like, rustic? I hated the treadmills - I found the belt to be very hard to run on, and the speeds changed too rapidly so I found myself almost tripping. The screens weren't super sensitive so I had to press buttons multiple times to get it to change speeds. The floor section was fine, but I was hoping for more core. The instructor was great and I liked how the workout was described to us very clearly and definitely planned ahead of time - he was great and I have no complaints about the class layout. Overall not my favorite class, but I would maybe come back to try one of their other concepts.
