I have not received my deposit, which has been owed to me since August. The daycare has cited bankruptcy as the reason, but since then there has been little to no communication, no updates on the status of my funds, and I have essentially been ignored whenever I follow up. After doing some research, I learned that I am not the only one affected. Other families have also not received their deposits, and there are even teachers who have not been paid. This raises serious concerns about how the situation has been handled. It is incredibly frustrating and disheartening to be treated this way after years of loyalty and reliability. If you are considering enrolling your child here, proceed with extreme caution. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against trusting your money--or your peace of mind--with a business that is clearly struggling and failing to communicate or take responsibility. I was thinking about things I like so that I can review them, because I want to get my Yelp count higher. Even though I have not had my kids at AIA for a couple of years, this school is one of the first things I thought of. I had two children in this school. The older one attended from K through 5. When she graduated, I had to take the younger one over to their new school as well, because it is impractical for me to have them in two different locations. We only left for logistical reasons. We love this school. I wish I was wealthy so that I could invest in this school and help them expand. Okay, now on to the meat of the review. This school attracts kids from several different cultures. They have very committed teachers. Their founder, Dixie, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. They use Montessori methods, but they are not afraid to adapt their system to meet the needs of each child. My older child learned to read and write better than some of my fellow graduate students! I credit this school for that. I will name a few of the awesome teachers they have (or have had), but I am sure the others are great as well: Mrs. Turner, Mrs. McDaniel, Mrs. Littlewood, and Mrs. Narayan. If you want a well-designed adaptive Montessori program for your kids - that teaches excellent life skills as well - this is the place to bring them. This school does have a Christian affiliation, which would have normally made me wary because we are UUs, not Christian. However, as is appropriate for an international school, religious participation is voluntary. The school had children from families that are Christian, Jewish, UU, Hindu, and Muslim (and probably others). It seemed that none of them experienced religious conflict. So, if you want to teach religious tolerance to your kids, this is a great place.

They absolutely could have if they wanted to, but instead chose to charge us close to $2,000 and kept pointing us back to the contract and legal language. Unfortunately, there was none. The saving grace for us was my son's teachers, Mr. Rao and Mrs. Joshi. They were wonderful and we genuinely appreciated them. Beyond that, I was never particularly impressed with the administration or the overall experience. For a school that positions itself as a premier institution and has so many positive accolades, our experience was very different. To us, it felt like a pretty average/subpar school packaged and marketed as something much more. If you are considering AIA, just make sure you read every line of what you sign. Don't assume there will be any flexibility or understanding even when circumstances change within a matter of days.

We put our 4 yr old kiddo in this preschool this year, hoping for a chance at some normalcy for this child who had already been through 9 surgeries, several of them open heart. Kiddo has been by all means a miracle child and has absolutely been through it. We discussed in depth with doctors, therapists, etc before making the decision to send him to school as the right decision. However, as expected, kiddo got sick a bit more than the other kids as kiddos immune system isn't as strong. They have strict sick policy, which we respect and understand. At the end of October, we have our first conference. Nothing is mentioned except an issue with answering to kiddos name and acknowledging direction. Nothing new. Nothing mentioned about "educational value." Fast forward to several weeks before Thanksgiving and sickness is going around. The normal kids are recovering in days, it' takes our kiddo a week to consider sending him back. We try it, and end up having to come get kiddo. We are asked to keep kiddo home until the cough is completely gone. We finally send kiddo back after Thanksgiving and 3 school days later, these people have the audacity to message and say kiddo is not getting " any educational value" and would like us to remove kiddo from class. Zero mention of this at the conference. Zero in the hundreds of messages they send weekly. They find a way to say "we can't handle your kiddo , even though we said we could" They even tried to tell us how we should be parenting and thought we should "consider therapy." Do you not listen? Doctors and therapists are who we consulted with to decide to send him to preschool!! Also, it's your job to GIVE every child the educational value. Something every educator in your preschool should be able to do. Educational value is all on the teacher ‍‍We were thinking about sending our 2 year old next year. But thanks for saving us money and showing how bottom of the barrel your preschool is! Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience…read more We enrolled our child in this school based on very specific promises: a low student-to-teacher ratio (two teachers for every ten students), qualified early childhood educators, consistent staffing, freshly prepared meals and snacks, and support with developmental milestones such as potty training. Unfortunately, none of these promises have been fulfilled. Staffing has been a constant issue. The promised ratio is routinely ignored, and there is rarely any consistency in caregivers. Teachers rotate constantly, and on several occasions the individuals filling in were not teachers at all, but maintenance or housekeeping staff. When asked directly, several attendants confirmed they do not have early childhood development credentials. This level of turnover and lack of qualification is deeply concerning. While I have met some team members who are caring and well-intentioned, positive attitudes cannot compensate for systemic issues and unmet commitments. At the cost charged, parents deserve reliability and transparency, and sadly this school has not delivered that. For this reason, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting my child's care here. Despite several months of attendance, there has been no observable progress in learning or potty training. There is no structure, curriculum, or evidence of intentional teaching. The food offering was another major misrepresentation. We were told meals and snacks would be freshly prepared; instead, children are regularly served prepackaged food. Cleanliness and supervision are the most alarming aspects. The facility often smells strongly of feces. On multiple occasions, we entered classrooms to find babies crying and clearly in need of diaper changes, with no staff attending to them. In one particularly disturbing instance, a soiled diaper appeared to have been left over an entire weekend, resulting in an overpowering odor. During the second week of January, I formally communicated my deep disappointment and my intention to remove my son from the school effective in February. I was informed that a 30-day notice was required. Even so, the concerns that led to this decision were never addressed or corrected. When enrolling my son in a new school and explaining our negative experience and clear expectations for quality and care, the very first question we were asked was: "Is it Crème de la Crème?" That alone speaks volumes. Crème de la Crème's reputation precedes them, and it is clear that we are not the only parents who have reached this conclusion. Other parents have already made the decision to remove their children from the school. This school is expensive, and parents are sold a vision of high-quality care, professionalism, and nurturing attention. What we experienced was the opposite: chronic understaffing, unqualified caregivers, serious hygiene deficiencies, and completely unmet developmental needs. I truly wanted this school to work. Instead, it has become an extremely costly disappointment, and I strongly urge other parents to thoroughly research and ask very specific questions before enrolling their children.

They had such a positive and enriching experience in her classroom. Primrose has been the perfect stepping stone into school for our children.
