The first time they were conceded that something severe/life threatening was wrong and they bumped me to front of the line. The second time we went on a Sunday afternoon, waited about 35 minutes to be seen. Then we only waited another 5-10 mins for the doctors. They got me a script and now I'm feeling much better. I felt the doctors and nurses I saw were knowledgeable. The front desk ladies were very kind and helpful. Do the polite thing and wear a mask if you have the flu or a cough. This keeps the waiting room more sanitary. Plus if you don't have the flu and are in for something else, you can go and not worry that you'll leave worse off than you came in. Everyone's insurance is different. If I go to this urgent care, I can pay the same co-pay I would at a regular doctor's office. But some plans have an increased "urgent care" co-pay so be advised. They will collect co-pay before you're seen. If you don't have insurance they'll give a cash discount that's $70.

Do NOT bother coming here if there's ANY chance an x-ray might be needed. They share a floating…read morex-ray tech with other clinics, so be sure to ask them BEFORE you go if they can do an x-ray on the day and time you're going. Because they were the go-to location listed on my health insurance, I had to drive from 110th to 135th, pay $65 for a TOTAL waste of time and money there, then drive back to 119th & Pflumm for another wait, and an x-ray. Then told I have to go back to 135th St. to get anything taken care of!

What I loved about SpiraCare-- 1) in the 3 years I used them, I NEVER had a billing issue (which I've had before and after using SpiraCare, since moving to Kansas, and is exhausting to resolve) 2) scheduling an appointment was easy, and I got to talk to a real human being. After leaving SpiraCare, I realized simply scheduling a preventative annual check-up needed to be done 3+ months in advance and (after leaving messages and playing phone tag) most providers in my network don't even accept new patients, ugh. 3) Blood drawn right there, immediately after appointment. It was super convenient, vs. at my new doctor I had to sit and wait like 30minutes before it was drawn, and had to pay them a $10 convenience fee for them to draw it and have it picked-up vs. me driving to a LabCorp facility separately. Since leaving SpiraCare I've become very acquainted with how jacked up healthcare is in this country, and supposedly my employer has good insurance???

So I did a search and found out that Saint Luke's has a spot in the local Hy-Vee. Well I had been thinking of changing to Saint Luke's anyway based off of my job. They do a lot of work there and seemed knowledgeable. Wellll this lil spot helped confirm it for me. My daughter wasn't feeling well and they helped walk her through every step to help diagnose her. She left without the despair that she had been feeling and that was enough for me. I am thankful for the patience and the dedication that this staff had here. I don't know if I'll go back to Minute Clinic and I liked them a lot.
