On Friday evening around 7, my external hard drive crashed. Fortunately, the "Geek Brigade" (soon to be called IT Indianapolis) had someone on hand until 9 that night. I was able to drop the old drive off and explain what I was hoping could be done. By Monday afternoon (unfortunately, they are closed weekends), I received a call that my data was recovered. Because my old drive was seven years old and had run continuously, it simply wore out and appeared to me that all my data was unretrievable. Fortunately, these guys are Wizards with computers and through some magic, were able to retrieve the data and transfer it to a new drive about the size of a phone. The new drive only runs when the computer itself is running, so it will get plenty of rest. Even though this company can serve businesses, it is great to know that they still are able to fit the home users into their schedule without making us wait without our electronics too long. I will be ordering a new computer to replace the old laptop I currently have, and I will continue to use their antivirus protection which they will set up for me. (They can even do it remotely if that is more convenient.) Great people who don't look at you crazy if you aren't computer savvy. I appreciate that! P.s. Tried Geek Brigade based on the reviews on Yelp. We came by on a Saturday afternoon, and were helped right away by a capable and friendly young man. He was able to get our PC repaired in under a half hour. I had waited longer that that just to be seen at the other Geek place. Only one visit, but defiantly recommended. read more

Was told this place was under the same owner but wow what a difference time has made. Liked this place before never had an issue when it was at the old location and Geek Brigade. Found out they moved by phone call. I needed a new and hard to find computer charger gave them a call had to leave a message but didn't get a call back so I called again. When I spoke to the main guy he was a huge smart mouth acted like he didn't want to be bothered. So I go in and the kid that helped me and the lady at the desk were friendly and helpful. I took my laptop there because the screen kept fading to grey. They told me I needed a new screen ($180 bucks including labor, tax and parts). I also took a desktop that stopped working after the power went off and came back on. The original motherboard was one price, but by the time they went to order it - the other one was more expensive. The person said that was quite a bit of money for a computer that old, and offer to do a data transfer. Being without a computer, can be pretty frustrating but overall I am quite satisfied with their work and will probably return again for any computer issues! read more

They did all the shopping for me and performed all the proper tune-ups prior to me using it. The best service ever!!!!! My computer had gotten a virus - lots of pop ups and running extremely slow... Needed computer for a major event the following day --July 13th. I was greeted by a very nice gentleman and explained everything in a wonderful manner - gave me price & told me it would be ready that evening. He gave me their closing time... I was so tired I went home and fell asleep! I woke up to discover I had fell asleep and they were closed... I called & left a VM message. The message stated they were closed until Monday.... but to my surprise someone called me back.. I explained what happened- this gentleman said he would check and call me back. He called back and it was ready.. He was so nice and we agreed on a mutual time and I got my computer for the event. The virus was gone and my computer runs like new!!! This company does a great job doing IT and they know what they are doing. We have used them several times and they fix things or set things up faster then anyone we have used for IT. However monitor them very carefully. They do not communicate with you and either send you bills for something you are under the impression they do for free (Recycle hard drives). We had it set up to be done for free we just have to take them across town, IT Indy was here doing other work and they said they could destroy and recycle our old hard drives. I told them thanks but we are getting this done for free, and also asked if we got a certificate of destruction. I was told yes. I had them take the hard drives and got a bill for this service. I also got a quote for a job, and when it was done sent me a bill for three times more then the quote. I was told that it took longer then the quote, which I understand, but at least tell people you are close the quoted hours so they know and can plan for an invoice that is three times more. Very disappointed, the people are very nice and like I said knowledgeable, but lack communication. read more

This was my second time dealing with Geek Brigade. I purchased a refurbished PC from them at a great price, I still use this PC as my primary business desktop. More recently, I purchased another PC for a team member and when I encountered an unforeseen problem, I contacted the staff at Geek Brigade and they dropped everything that they were doing to fix this problem and get me up and running, immediately.
