I tried one of their free community hot yoga classes. It was my first time doing hot yoga, and they happened to have a substitute instructor, Ben, who teaches the advanced classes. So it was quite a tough class and a full body work out, and I sweated the Charles River. It was motivating and fun to work out with a crowd though, and there were people of all levels and plenty of modifications and options for the poses. I thought the technology was cool in that the humidity could be controlled, and there was a constant refreshing eucalyptus aroma in the air. Since it was my first time visiting, they offered for me to borrow a towel and mat for free. The facility was very clean, and everyone was so friendly! read more

CorePower Yoga... you've got me hooked on your yoga sculpt classes! I have gone to four yoga sculpt classes in a row this week and am obsessed! I did have the chance to try their C2 class, which is also heated, however, did not leave as satisfied as I do after Yoga Sculpt class haha. Not because the class wasn't good, I just prefer more movement and sculpt has given me exactly that! Only thing is, this location seems to be quite busy & does get extremely packed... especially on weekends, which I understand. You will only have about an inch of space from the person to your left, the person to your right, and the people in front & behind you. They have mats and towels available to rent, though I do suggest bringing your own if possible! Some of the mats smell and it's questionable if they actually do give the mats a cleaning. To be honest, I'm most obsessed with the merch selection they offer here. I mean, I'm obsessed with the merch at most group fitness businesses I visit haha, truly a sucker for matching sets and anything pink! Can purchase yoga mats here, as well, like Manduka, Liforme, etc. Parking: free 90 min lot in the back for Ink Block parking. read more

Did my first sculpt yoga (heated studio) here. Our instructor i thought had great pace, music was good imo and the tempo of her circuit with the music flowed well! I definitely was drenched from head to toe! They have rentable mats, towels etc (mats can be a bit on the ripe side so most have their own, to be expected though). The sculpt i thought was cool, I'm not personally into all the yoga posing myself, but the combo of cardio, weights, and yoga worked better for me in the style of workout i prefer. Studio space was clean, locker rooms have showers, lockers you can keep your stuff in, merch and brand name mats available for sale. They have a fast full auto water bubbler, and clean overall. Parking out back if you can find a spot is 90min free, otherwise good luck finding parking if you drive in, go earlier! I do think the instructors make the business success obv, so hope CorePower is taking care of them! read more

I have been going to Corepower for a few years. This should technically be my main studio but I drive 30+ minutes to other studios. If you pay $190 a month for a subscription, this is NOT the quality that should be delivered. The heat is always broken. Always. They either write "low heat" on the sign up, cancel class or use space heaters that do nothing. The locker room is so ratchet with half the lockers not having doors, the other half are off the hinges. The water fountain is also always broken. If you're paying this amount, you expect a certain level of care from the facilities. Corepower as a whole is good but the ink block location is NOT well maintained and NOT worth the money. read more

The sculpt classes are mostly challenging. Definitely a younger crowd with lots of fancy yoga clothes. This location has some free parking unlike Seaport where you have to pay $40 to park during class. Sophia Lo's class is def the best one I've taken here so far. She kicks your ass. Pros: Plenty of weights, good locker room, parking, and relatively clean bathroom Cons: The stereo system is really loud and the teachers audio is up to them. They have no Mic to speak over the music so they have to scream or they use these little hip speakers that remind me of mini-prison speakers and they try to overpower the music. But they keep turning the music up so if you are next to a speaker or not close to the teachers screaming or hip speaker you cant hear a thing. I feel bad for the teachers and think Core should upgrade their system so the teachers can focus on teaching not screaming. If Core could get better audio for the teachers I'd go to this studio all the time. read more

Love this studio! The CPY classes are great as usual-however, I liked this studio a lot compared to other CPY studios in Boston-- it's very clean, has great showers, has cold running drinking water, and perfectly sized workout rooms as well. I also love this area -- it's so modern and boujee, so much to do after yoga like get brunch or dinner :) Also it's a really close walk from the Orange line... super easy to access. read more

So far I've been to one class here (will update if I go to more), but I've been to many CPY studios in the past. I took a Thursday evening YS class with Dan, whose class was very tough but also much more of a Barry's or Orange Theory vibe, as he was yelling/screaming encouragements like the whole time, was super energetic, and there were only snippets of flow in there. So keep that in mind if you were hoping for more of a calm environment. Pros: - Love that there is a small parking lot behind the studio! The walk to the from the lot to the front entrance is only a minor inconvenience. - There are a lot more guys here than other studios, and male teachers as well. In the class I took, there was an entire row of guys in the class. Good for encouraging more diverse student base. Cons: - Super packed. We were packed like sardines and I had to put my mat in front of the rack of weights and in between two other mats in front of me, so I was either bumping into weights or trying to avoid the toes of the people in front of me. - Super hot. I think I have heard other CPY teachers say that this location tends to be hotter than the other Boston ones. Our class started at 98F, whereas the other studios are around 93-95F. - Did not have cleaning wipes for your mat but they did have some sort of cleaning spray. - I did not see other small amenities like hair ties, feminine hygiene products, etc. read more

I did a drop in here and it was wonderful. Their studio is lovely. The energy of the staff is upbeat and friendly. There are lots of cute clothes, mats and accessories for sale. The locker room is clean. The drop in was $26 and I got a mat and a lock for my locker. The class was, like all CorePower classes, fabulous. read more

Happy I got to try something new and challenging. I did YS - Yoga Sculpt and Yoga 2 at the South End/Ink Block and had a great time with my girlfriend. We sweated our asses off and was thoroughly whipped by the end of it. Don't make the amateur mistake we did: - bring a towel - bring water - come early Even if a lot of sweat was water weight, it still felt rejuvenating coming out of it. 5/5 for the flexibility workout, pump up music and the free trial! read more

My fellow yogis, if you're someone who wants the bougie, city-vibe studio...I think this place might be for you! They got three major classes--candlelit, yoga 2, and a sculpt. This place is clean, modern, and what you'd typically imagine a yoga studio to be. The parking in the back is great to have and they have locker rooms with four showers, albeit small. That being said, as much I wanted this place to be my new studio, I won't be buying a membership. Here's why: Every time I'd walk in, I felt like I was interrupting the conversation happening at the desk. I was an annoyance. For example, my first time, I was so excited! I came up and was like, "I'm new! Can't wait to try you guys." No warm welcome, no good vibes. The classes are all or nothing in terms of difficultly level. Candlelight is very slow, more like a stretch with some ritualist song that goes on very long. You know, with the humming and big slow drum. Personally, not my taste. Meanwhile, sculpt was so intense I felt there was very little yoga and more bootcamp. Think, peloton class energy. But you might like that! But truly, it's the energy and the environment that makes it a no for me. There's not much diversity in the student base. I love a class with with older people, those with worn out mats...people wearing t-shirts, and those who are new and inexperienced. We're all here, different and unique people, coming from all walks of life to do yoga together. Here, I felt like I needed to have a Lululemon mat, a matching outfit, be under 30, and look in great shape. Once again, this might be you! You might love that. But as someone who care less about the fancy stuff, I just didn't feel like I could authentically enjoy yoga here. It was about appearances. And the only reason I write this is for those who might be very new and excited to try a new place, but are not a stereotypical yogi. I want to give you this heads up, so you don't feel intimidated or out of place. You deserve to be on the mat. Wherever that may be. read more

The classes and instructors are all awesome, and the studio and shower are clean and nice. They have a lot of classes on the schedule so I can always find a convenient time. Friendly instructors and they have a pretty tight schedule so you can basically find classes you wanna take whenever you want to come! def check out c2 if you like a more traditional yoga with fast flow or yoga sculpt if you are more looking for a workout with weights. read more

Just like other CorePowers, this one has all the amenities and services you need. I was a little disappointed that their water fountain was broken and thought that the lobby area was smaller than what I've seen, but it'll do. I was also liiittle thrown off by the fact that it didn't seem like anyone cleaned the room after the previous class. There were still puddles on the floor and I felt like I was trying to avoid land mines when placing my mat somewhere. Not sure if this is a common occurrence, but it happened when I was there! read more

The first time I came here was on Patriot's Day during lunch for the Yoga Sculpt Bodyweight class. The room was packed! So packed that a few of us had to place our mats in front of the weights. The whole time was nerve-wrecking because either of us in that section could have kicked the weights and they could have dropped on our foot or worse, our heads. I was convinced that I will never come back here again. A girl from the class reassured me that it is normally not like this and that I should give them a try again. This week, CorePower Yoga is doing a one free week unlimited deal so I figured, fine, it's free, I'll give them another chance. This time, I noticed that the floor had tape markings of where the mats should go and there's a big black tapped letters reading NO MATS in front of the weights. They listened. I'm happy. The risk of injury has been minimized, if not eliminated. So, now back to the classes. The classes have been intense but in a good way. Good thing that girl from class told me to give them a chance, now, I am signing up to be an All Access Member. Deducted 1 star because of the first impression and the lack of safety protocols in the beginning. read more

Oh my god, best yoga studio I've been to - perfect balance of calm, community, and strength workout. I'm usually not the type to spend $20+ on a class but I've been going consistently for about a year now with my boyfriend and we are addicted. We were both beginners and started at C1 to get comfortable for about 1 week, and then go mostly to C2 classes. We recently started going to Yoga Sculpt, which is their most intense class type. This studio does such a great job of training and selecting their instructors, I've enjoyed every yoga instructor I've had, even the substitutes (which I usually avoid in other studios). Note - the parking situation here isn't ideal. I've heard both instructors and students complain about circling around for a long time to find parking in the metered spots. Those seem to be the only available ones because the others are reserved for Inkblock residents and Whole Foods customers. read more

I love corepower! It's the best yoga experience and more! I have been a faithful black tag member for many years and never been disappointed with their customer service. Every instructor is sweet,polite and willing to help. I have been to all the corepower locations in boston( ink block,comm ave,Medford,Fenway and seaport).I frequently attend yoga sculpt which is a combination of yoga, cardio,weightlifting and sculpting. It's a full body workout that is guaranteed to make you sweat. The studios can get overheated so it's always good to bring water and towel. Love you corepower. read more

I am obsessed with CPY and cannot understand why there aren't more reviews yet! When Classpass got more expensive and more limited with classes, I bit the bullet and invested in a "black tag" membership at CPY, which is essentially unlimited yoga at all CPY studios for $155 a month (sometimes they run deals, so I actually have a $140 rate). I have been to every CPY in the Boston area, and although the South End is small and often crowded in the evenings (DUH people, there's basically enough yoga goers in southie/south end to fill a stadium), the teachers are amazing and have really made a difference in my workout life. I have gained incredible muscle tone since committing to a membership here, I've done boot camps, every class offered, and intend to start teacher training this year! It does get busy at night, which is why I highly recommend the 6am classes - I go almost every morning and it's the same teachers, same yogis, with plenty of space and great heat! I'm a huge fan and love this chain, and especially love classes with Dani, Steph, Cordy, and Jen, but everyone is great! The manager, Majesta, is super friendly and all the teachers are there to improve your practice every day. read more

I just took a class at the Ink Block studio. I rented a mat and it smelled absolutely awful. I asked to swap it out. They couldn't find one that didn't smell (!!) so they offered me a towel to put over a mat. This is disgusting. I had this awful smell all class. I can only imagine what kind of bacteria is on those mats and the weights and blocks. For the price-- corepower needs to provide quality instruction and cleanliness. Severely disappointed. read more

My favorite CorePower location in Boston. It's located right next to Whole Foods, which makes post-workout hydration very convenient (and post-workout grocery shopping). The studios are clean and large enough that it's not too crowded (though some classes can get very packed). All the instructors are fantastic - friendly, helpful, and phenomenal teachers. I really loved the energy of the classes. The locker rooms were really nice and I loved that they had 4 showers. I took both sculpt and C2. Yoga Sculpt was unlike any class I've ever experienced before. The combo of the hot room along with the combo of yoga and strength movements. I fell in love! In C2 I really liked the blend between the instructional improvements as well as being able to flow on your own. I loved when our instructor took the time to explain crow pose to a small group of us. Overall I really liked the studio and the classes it provides. Be prepared to sweat like you've never sweat before. I suggest bringing a towel that can go over your yoga mat and to get there at least 20+ minutes early to get a place in the class. It is all first come first serve, so you cannot sign up for the class before. The only suggestions I have is to mark off where mats should be placed. I go to a lot of classes in NYC and they have stickers on the floor, so people know when they come in where to place their mats, rather than waiting and having to move every time. I thought the instructors do a good job of rearranging the class to get the most amount of people in there. read more

This has a smaller waiting area compared to the commonwealth location. AdM was very friendly & engaging by sharing some personal touches. My only request is that the music seemed to get soft & loud at different points & made it harder to hear the instructor's voice. Hot fusion candlelight was awesome: magical. First time there and also my first time ever walking out of a yoga class. I don't understand how anyone pays for this. The mat they gave me was crumbling, I left with black pieces of mat stuck to my body. They let far too many people attend. I love that this studio has different levels to their classes. I did the free week so that I could get a feel for the classes. The first class I went to was C2. It was heated to 90 degrees with humidity. The class was a bit too advanced for me so the next two classes I went to were C1 with no heat or added humidity. I liked it, and would recommend it to anyone. What will prohibit me from getting a membership is the price. $25 per class or $155 a month. That's a reach especially if I'm only going to the C1 classes read more

I took class with Jennifer Sea both times, and she is honestly the best instructor that I have had! A great balance of challenging classes with positive and motivating energy. Huge CPY follower! Have been to majority locations across the country due to travel and love it obviously. But this location has really fallen off the CPY brand standard. Super disappointed. Mats were not clean and untrained yoga professionals. Went to a class with Nicola as the instructor and it was completely brutal. I have been doing yoga for over 10 years and this woman has no idea what she is doing. Her form is off and major lack of flow. Clueless. I assume CPY trains their professionals so that they are at least proficient...this is definitely not the woman's calling. read more

Recently moved to Boston from NYC and have been a big follower of CPY forever. Typically, it is truly the best with great professionals and guidance. Monday night, I went for a sculpt class and was extremely disappointed with their (I think) newest instructor, Nicola. She couldn't have done more than one class on her own. Terrible flow, lack of character and has no idea what she is doing. You would think Boston CPY would have higher standards. People need to face the music sometimes and pick a different profession. CPY step it up, you can do a lot better than this, inside and out. read more
