Liked this place a lot. We used to go apple picking each Fall at Tree-mendus Fruit Farm in Eau Claire, MI but they closed up two years ago. So in looking for a new venue we came across Corey Lake and thought we'd give it a try. Glad we did. One thing to remember with Corey Lake is that it is split into two locations: one is the actual orchard where you can pick apples and a number of grape varieties, and the second is the market where they sell a number of fruit and veggie products, already picked items, pies, jellies, doughnuts, cider, pumpkins, and the like. The market also has a little play area for youngsters. The orchard is just a short drive from the market and is worth the trip. They offer a number of varieties of apples and the rows are pretty well marked. On balance we thought Corey Lake had fewer trees/acres than Tree-mendus but had nicer prices. At the orchard you check in at a Quonset hut and purchase a bag size (1/2 bushel, 1 peck, 1/2 peck), then you walk/drive out to fill your bag. If you are planning ahead you may want to bring a bucket to put your bag in ... the partially filed bag gets unwieldy after a while. If you you find you don't need the bag or size you bought, you can change it on the way out, so their pricing is very fair. You have the option to pay for your apples back at the market, but most pay right there in the Quonset hut ... so you don't have to visit the market, but do since it was fun. The market had very nice pies and a lot of items from the surrounding Amish areas. The market is a fresh fruit and veggie heaven and is worth the stop. Corey Lake Orchards is a nice weekend trip on a Fall day - recommended. read more

This is a great little farm in Michiana! It has a charming midwestern feel to it and lots of produce and other fun products to choose from. They have lots of seasonal vegetables and also make their own cider and brandy's. Our favorite ciders are the strawberry, brunch cider and blueberry, but they sell singles so you can try all of them if you'd like (we did!). They also sell baked goods and some other items like jams and salsas from an Amish farm in Shipshewana. Whether you're a local or visiting the area, this is worth the trip! read more

Great little market. Has fresh produce, encourages kids to learn about how to grow fruits and vegetables. When I was there they had a jar with stages of the butterfly. They do have a bakery. It is small but you can taste the freshness. They only have cake doughnuts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They do have a variety of doughnuts and other baked goods. read more

If the stars went higher than a 5, I would for sure give Corey Lake Orchards a 10+ The bakery opened last year, and they have the best Pies, homemade jellies, donuts, bread and cookies around. They have any where from Tomatoes, corn, asparagus, fresh grown dill, cilantro, pickles I could go on and on forever. Beth the owner is so nice as well as her staff/family. I grew up going to pick blueberries, strawberries, and cherries from Corey Lake Orchards. Its such a fun tradition. They have remodeled in recent years but I remember it being such a country little shack! Their produce is always phenomenal and well priced! read more

Great apples and pumpkins. We processed a bushel last week and need more. We dried some, and canned 21 pints of applesauce. The folks at Corey Lake Orchards are very helpful, and will give you a sheet telling you about each type of apple they sell, and what it is best for. If you want to pick your own, you can save about half. EDIT: Pick-your-own apples are now same price as when they pick, due to greater expenses and regulations. read more

I cant say enough wonderful things about this place. The produce is wonderfully fresh and the outdoor market is amazing. The bakery serves the best donuts and pies in the whole state if you ask me. Its so refreshing to see the fresh fruit and vegetables on display, knowing they were picked right from that location. The staff couldnt be more friendly. I've been going to this farm since I was a little kid, and I keep coming back to it because it's my favorite by far. They've always had great produce in the market and that you can go pick. The bakery has been my favorite addition to Corey lake orchards. Their Apple cider donuts are AMAZING. Best I've had anywhere, by far, and they pair perfectly with Apple cider or one of their fruit flavored slushies. I 110% recommend this place to people of all ages. Got kids? They have a fun play area for them and an awesome slide. Want to try out some craft alcohol? They make their own brandy and hard ciders. A teenager or young adult looking to take some cute photos and do fall activities? They have very picturesque places and old trucks with pumpkins and sunflowers near them. It's also right by the lake so it's really just beautiful. Finally, they have wonderful staff. Go check it out if you're ever in the area. read more
