They didn't bother me while I strolled through the wines. They have over 750 wines. I gave up finding the two on my list. I walked to the counter and flashed my note to one worker and asked if any of that made sense. He said it did and walked be to a wine section (beyond the point where I had given up). They only had one of my two recommendations, the Banfi Chianti for $14.00. He suggested a couple of entry level wines, Barefoot Red Moscato and The Naked Grape Riesling (White), both at $8.00 each. The Barefoot Red Moscato is very smooth and has no tartness. The Riesling is drinkable with a slight tart, but not overwhelming. Their liquor selection is as large as their wine selection. If they don't have what you're looking for, ask them about ordering it for you. I am interested in Juan Tequila, but they didn't have any. I didn't ask them about it because I had wine on the brain.

I headed off across the Stateline (trusting my usually reliable Yelp directions) and found myself In beautiful and very rural MS. With the exception of a tire shop and an occasional mailbox there was nothing but trees and wildflowers. The directions told me to park on the highway and continue by foot...WHAT??? I could hear the banjos!!! I continued over the hill another 300 feet and there right on the highway was the little store. (Relief)! What I found inside wasn't the highest end selection of wines and beers but a beautiful proprietor named Rita. She was so delightful that I stayed and visited with her for over an hour. While I was there, several of the locals stopped in...not to buy anything but to tell Rita what was going on in their lives. She was kind and encouraging and I was struck by her beauty; inside and out. I'll be on the road home In a few days all stocked up, but you can bet next time I come to Red Bay, I'll take a little trip up to Russellville to see Rita.

We made the mistake of going in the store and only one person having their ID's. During check-out we were all asked for our ID's. We had to go all the way home and get them to complete our purchases. We did this twice already lol. Can't be mad that they are doing their job. The staff were very nice in explaining why they did this but were firm on it. Now we don't leave home until we know if we are going to buy several things from Odens, we all have our Drivers Licenses.
