Originally I gave Peter Mark 1/5 but manager did apologise and not charge me…read more I normally use Adam (amazing at making me look gorgeous) or Agnieszka (excellent hairdresser and cannot recommend enough). Today, I booked in with Julie. 42 minutes into my appointment -- Julie touched my hair for the first time. SOPHIE washed my hair after Julie explained what shampoo to use. I was never told I was going to be used for training and I never would have agreed. Exceedingly disappointing. I told them when booking I had to be at an event at 11:30am (so need to leave by 11;15am latest) Physically talked to team about it (as had haircut on the Thursday). They told me would put note on account that I was under time pressure but there would be plenty of time. Arrived for my appointment...& was told to wait. 15 minutes AFTER my appointment start time I reminded them of my time constraints. Was told to wait and asked if I wanted tea / coffee. Then after tea arrived Julie introduced herself and asked what I was having done. I explained I was supposed to be getting hair straightened and like ghd waves. She told me they will wash my hair straight away so I am "not waiting". Sophie did my hair after Julie told her how to wash it and what sprays to put in. Sophie is lovely but kept lightly knocking my head with the hair drier. Struggled to dry my curly hair as kept mixing up the separated parts and clips. Eventually 42 min later Julie came over and my hair was half wet. She asked me what I was going to have done -- & suggested a boho blow dry as alternative to straightening. I told her I had no time to do anything else due to her tardiness. She was like "oh, you don't have to leave for another 45 minutes we will have plenty of time". I said no. I was supposed to BE there in 45 min. So need to leave here in 10 min max. She was like "right" then did a curly blow dry. I was horrified and in tears leaving. Manager didn't charge me. Went to my event with frizzy & curled hair. NEVER recommending using them for a weekend or Saturday appointment unless they give you plenty of time to "fix" their mistakes.

Three staff members were whispering and sniggering after putting the towel and cover up around my shoulders before telling me they couldn't do a half head due to nano beads. ive had these extensions for years and it was never a problem. they were on the bottom half of my head and wouldn't have effected the colour. it wasn't so much the time wasting and just general bad communication on their behalf it was the school girl sniggering that really put me off. getting your hair done should be a positive experience and this was the furthest thing from it

During my visit with my family in Cork my hair was in need of a good cut. Being an avid traveler…read moreand hearing about the Turkish barbers it was a no brainier to seek one out. Because of the proximity to Turkey compared to America it was hard to choose the right one for the job. After walking up and down MacCurtain St a few times looking and speaking to a few pros I found Franco's was the right one. Nico, whom I think is the owner gave me a warm welcoming upon looking into his shop. The place was very clean and there not a lot of people, just a laid back barber shop with a very professional look and feel. He sat me in the chair and asked a few questions about how he could tailor my cut. Might I add that my premise for the Turkish barber was the straight razor shave. So, I included my need for a shave too. He then went to work on my mop of a head to and beard to make it a master piece. He took his time all the while we had a very interesting conversation. I would say that next time I'm back in Cork, I'll definitely be giving this barber shop a visit. They are very good at what they do and their precision is what they live by.

The fade is good but he cut the front so short that it just looks awful. It's about a cm in length in the front, as opposed to the back where it's about an inch, it makes no sense why he would cut it that short. +2 stars because the fade was good but -3 stars because overall it looks awful. Will not be coming back.
