It has a very enjoyable caramel like taste and a modest pleasing aroma; it is clear and full bodied, with a thick consistency. It tastes great on its own (as a treat or maybe to ease a sore throat, any excuse really) but obviously may be used as a spread or drizzle. Someone has suggested using it on porridge, so we'll try that. It doesn't come cheap, costing well over a fiver for a 340gm jar and I bought mine at the Nash 19 Food Shop (attached to the well known restaurant in Prince's Street)

I ordered my scoop in a cone but I don't think they are freshly made. Regardless, this is probably the best you can get in Cork. I had pistachio gelato in a restaurant and it sucked compared to this.

Its always a nice treat to have a little chocolate with a coffee so I always opted for a coffee, although the chilli hot chocolate sounded quite intriguing. The one thing that I was not a fan of was how they made their mokaccino (I think that's how you spell it). Anyways they put a huge gob of chocolate mix that's been sitting in a crock-pot, mix it with milk (whichever you'd like - soy, regular etc) and add your shots of espresso. My girlfriend enjoys these, but one time she got a massive gob of chocolate mixture and it was like drinking a pudding - this was the one time where it was not up to standards.

They also have several pastries and soft serve to choose from. The service is great, kind and attentive. Pretty small but always great supporting small local businesses. The first impression entering the shop is great: it's bright, funky and spotless. There are seats in the front (I liked especially the cosy seat in front of the mirror :-) ). The staff was very friendly and helpful to show me how it works. There is a choice of 3 cup sizes - but in the end you pay per weight anyway. So the cup size is only there to limit yourself to overindulge. The froyo self-serve machines are in the back and I had 10 flavours to choose from (even 2 vegan options). Then I had to choose from the 18 different toppings - not easy :-) ... the result looked fantastic and the taste was fabulous. Really liked it. I'd go for this delicious froyo anytime instead of ice cream. Overall I can only highly recommend this place. And I'll be surely a regular customer in the shop.
