This is truly a reader's dream place. The fare is minimal but fresh and delicious from the bits we tried. This brings me to the hot chocolate. Hubby had the tall mug of steaming milk placed in front of him with an enormous block of chocolate on a stick - like a huge square lollipop. The idea was to stick it in the milk and stir until melted. There was a choice of white, milk or dark if I remember correctly (definitely more than just the white chocolate option). He absolutely LOVED it and declared it to be the best he had ever had - check out the photos. The ONLY reason they didn't get a 5 star was due to the lack of seating. We had to wait a while to get a seat and I'm not sure what they could do about that, but if you only have a limited amount of time in Kinsale, you may just want to pop your head in first to see if there is anything available.

Another traveler in our group recommended the Apple Cake. It was divine! The apple slices were cut very thin and it was topped with delightful crunchies. The crust was light and soft. The apple cake was like a wonderful tart and was served warm with a scoop of home-made vanilla ice cream...oh my! It was SO good! Eating it on the outdoor seating, on a perfect 70 degree sunny day, was equally delightful. The interior is clean and quaint with fresh flowers on each table and a carafe of water infused with fresh cut oranges and limes. It was very refreshing. The coffee was superb. My Americano was served with a beautiful heavy cream. The service was friendly and quick. If you are staying in Kinsale, take the time to drive here for breakfast. It is on the way to Old Head, which is also worth the drive.
