I would like to add an update to my previous review. About a month after posting it, my second restoration fell out, which was very disappointing. Additionally, with the third restoration, I have noticed a significant overhang that has been causing discomfort. They have canceled on me for no reason for the last 3 months. My daughter had an appointment and they scheduled her on a day that they were closed and I never got no notification to tell me that they are closed... when I called to make a complaint, they didn't really care. Good afternoon, I'm writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at Corner Dental in Sylvania, Ohio. I went to a scheduled dentist appointment, anticipating a routine teeth cleaning prior to my vacation. However I was asked to undergo additional procedures, including fillings and x-rays, which I declined. I was then required to sign a refusal for treatment recommended form, I tried reiterating my only intention for my appointment on 8/28/25 was to receive a teeth cleaning as initially planned. Not any x-rays or fillings, I didn't know what the assistant was talking about. During this time the assistant repeatedly entered and exited the room, eventually taking my blood pressure which read 150/75. Subsequently , I was informed by the assistant that I would need to leave the office due to my elevated blood pressure. I am still upset about the manner in which I was mistreated. I never got a chance to talk with the dentist. The dentist never came in the room to explain to me what was going on. I would have told her that I made this appointment after my other appointment was cancelled by Corner Dental, just for me to get a CLEANING before my trip. I even had the office person look for an appointment before my trip which is on 9/6/25, and she gave me the 8/28/25 appointment. I will be contacting my insurance company and anyone else that I can. Last week i started having some pretty bad tooth sensitivity, called them on Wednesday and the lady the phone was very nice - said there was a cancellation Thursday and that they should be able to fix the problem so I was no longer in pain. Took half a day off work and drove an hour one way to this appointment, waited about a 20 minutes to get called back, got to the room lady did an X-ray of the sore area DIDN'T EVEN LOOK IN MY MOUTH - dentist then came in, told me i Have 4 cavities on that side and said I have to have a full exam done and then they will schedule to fix what's causing me pain. Mind you that whole day going there was a waste and a scam. I was so upset and speechless that they would allow someone to be in pain that long. I'm assuming it's all to get more money from my insurance before doing work (I have Medicaid buckeye) Better yet is I called another place - took another half day and drove an hour one way Friday and THE PLACE I WENT TO FIXED MY ISSUE WITH NO HESITATION. We left this dentist for a number of reasons. He left serious dental conditions undiagnosed, left my wife waiting in the chair for 45 minutes (see finally got up and left, they never noticed). And, performed several thousand dollars worth of unneeded dental work on my son. They are all about money at this place. I know many friends / people that have left for these same reasons. Thanks to their knucklehead staff, I cannot comment on the quality of the dental work. I was in the area and in need of a minor procedure while traveling. The Google reviews on Corner Dental were all so cheery-snappy-happy that I thought I would give them a try. I should have checked Yelp first. The very simple procedure I needed and was willing to pay for our of my own pocket was too much of a complication for the administrative person who answered the phone. She insisted that I would need a full exam, including x-rays, etc. I finally convinced her that my dentist could send any requisite x-rays, film, records, etc. by email or web link. The Corner Dental administrative person then spent five minutes on the phone with me asking me all sorts of pre-requisite information (DOB, allergies, etc.) Finally when she went to look for an appointment, she told me that the office was closed for the week. What? Where was that snippet of information at the start of the call when I told her that I was traveling, in town for the week and needed a simple, quick procedure done soon? Worst dentist ever. I had a root canal done there and it cost close to a 1,000 dollars... with insurance. They are rude and inconsiderate to their patients. They only care about money. After my root canal, the dentist didn't tell me to watch for anything and I ended up in pain because they put the temp crown in wrong and it fell right out a few hours later. I went back in the next day to get that fixed and the dentist treated me like I was an idiot and that it was my fault that it fell right out. They are nothing but assholes. They tried to tell me that I had a gum disease and that I needed a 400 dollar cleaning done. When I said I wasn't interested in the cleaning and asked for a basic cleaning, they refused to give me a cleaning and left me at the chair... here's the kicker, I went to 2 other dentists and they said I didn't have a gum disease and that Corner Dental was ridiculous. The dental hygienist that did the gum disease test kept STABBING me and causing bleeding and then claimed that they were bleeding on their own... I had the same test done by the other dentists and they were NOT as painful. Absolutely ridiculous. They didn't bother to tell me that I had a limit on my insurance and when I went to another dentist to get another root canal done they said I used up most of my insurance and that I would now owe more money. All they care about is making money. The dental hygienists are rude, the dentists are jerks, there's nothing good here. I only went because of my insurance and I was able to find another dentist a few months later. Do NOT go here. read more

ZERO STARS If you're looking for the worst dental experience in Toledo, this is the place for you! Consistently over booked and understaffed. The staff treats you like garbage because you showed up for your appointment and made them do their job. They make you wait for nearly an hour before telling you they conveniently they do not have a dental hygienist on staff that day (why would they, they're just a dental office), and then get mad when you have to reschedule. Should be reclassified as a comedy club except giving people the run around regarding their dental health is not funny. read more

They had good staff a few years ago when I first when there, but by the time I no longer needed their care I was sick of the place. Unorganized and low educated staff smoothed my teeth without my permission and did it too low. Also after they took my braces off, they purposely didn't give my retainer so I'd have to pay for braces again after my teeth lost their shape. I agree with Steves review, they are money hungry there. I went to the same dentist for years that I loved. Unfortunately he was no longer able to practice and corner bought his practice out. The staff is friendly but you aren't guaranteed the same dentist every time. They are always trying to sell you things like veneers and everytime I go in for a cleaning I am told I need a filling replaced or a tooth capped which I never had with my prevous dentist. The final straw was last month. I was told I needed dental work that would cost around $1,000. I have no problem paying my out of pocket expense on the day of treatment, but was told their policy is now to reuiqre one half up front when you make the appoointment and the other half when you have the treatment done. I refuse to pay 1/2 of the treatment upfront to make the appointment. It's behavior like this that makes health care reform look attractive. read more

I went to the Sylvania location. The hygienist was so friendly and made sure to check in with me constantly to make sure I was comfortable. There was a television there when I was getting my cleaning which helped calm my nerves a bit. They have pretty advanced machines, which made the visit quick. And then the doctor spoke with me and was so friendly and knowledgable. I had a great experience here. read more

Yes, it was great when the father was there - the son just cares about money. The father was conservative, keeping your teeth (in my case with big fillings) unless it is necessary to replace them with a crown. He finally replaced one of mine after waiting five years - once the son came he wanted to give me 4 crowns right away. I told him I wait until it's necessary, but they kept calling me again and again to schedule the crowns and telling me how important it is. Well, we left and I still am doing fine with my fillings - years later. I also did not appreciate to be lied at about the father retiring and leaving the office to his son - they kept telling me it's just coincidence that I always end up with the son. And now I have also heard about the really bad experience my neighbor had with him. So - just stay away - go to Brookview Dental! It is now 2012 and my fillings are still fine - show that money, not my teeth were his first concern. Edit: It is 2017, my fillings are still fine : ) 8 years later. read more

I went to Corner Dental for 2 or 3 years and each year needed tons and tons of work. Eventually they told me that a crown they had just put on a year before was cracked, I had 2 new cavities and the whole thing with my insurance would still run me like $800. I was naturally very frustrated about this and complained a bit to several friends, a few of whom warned me about similar experiences at CD. I went back to my old dentist(who I had only left because of an insurance change)and after giving me a complimentary XRay(since CD had failed to send files to him as we requested)he informed me that I did not have a cavity and that my crown most certainly did not need to be replaced. He did point out though that the crown was huge and likely far more then I ever needed. It really pisses me off that my wife and I had to struggle through several years of being hit with $1,000-$2,000 worth of dental fees we may not have needed. Few bussiness truely anger me, but this just left me feeling taken advantage of and sad that there are so few dentists who still run their own practices(vs the several corporate ran offices iv been to that push every little thing). read more

So happy we chose Corner Dental for my daughter's first dentist appointment! The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. Our hygienist named Jennifer did such an amazing job making my 4 year old so comfortable--taking the time to explain what all her tools were for and what she was doing. She caught on right away that my daughter was a little apprehensive about it being her first time, and Jennifer really put in the extra effort to make her comfortable. My husband went there to get upper and lower dentures. The dentures look great, they should for the $4000 they cost. We were told that the cost of the dentures included everything that would need to be done. My husband was told to wait almost a year to let his gums shrink down before having the final fitting. When he went back for the final fitting he was told that it would cost an additional $200! It's been almost 2 years since he got his dentures and he refuses to pay them anymore money and has still not gotten them fitted properly. Then just last night one of the very front teeth fell out! This is what $4000 buys you from Reynolds Corners. His brother went to Aspen dental a few months ago and paid half that, got very nice looking dentures AND that included the final fitting. The Oregon branch is the only one I went to. The first reviewer was right. They go back and forth between so many patients and so you might sit long time. One time the assistant was very sick and coughing so much and that's Risking your health and even with a mask its NOT safe. and they have much concern to get money only. Finally Do not trust the crowns they use. They use Chinese crowns. Outsourced crowns from China just to make a $100 more profit. The problem is some Chinese crown contain lead and other dangerous metals so beware. Don't trust Chinese made Crowns. Many dentist have gone so far as to outsource teeth. read more

When I first started visiting corner dental I was pleased with the care, I thought I had finally found a good dentist. Within 9 months they started overbilling my insurance company for services they were well aware had a 24 month cycle. The one star is too complimentary, they deserve zero, typical money pump. Amazing Experience. Took me in right away.They run pretty much on scheduled time. The Dr that treated me was so patient and kind. took the time to explain in detail what needed to be done. My fiance and I went there for his surgery. When we got there, they said that they called him to let him know that there was an issue with his insurance that he didn't have any and they needed to reschedule. He showed his proof that he has insurance but that didn't matter. He was then told that they was going to reschedule him anyway because the dental hygienist left early. To us, that meant they never called. We told them that we were going to check it out and get back to them. We left at 2:06 (mind you we got there at 2pm and his appt was at 2:30pm). We went to his job, got the information we needed and then went back to Corner Dental. We arrived back at Corner Dental at 2:50. THEY WERE CLOSED!!! No sign on the door. No rhyme or reason given. However, they weren't supposed to close until 5pm. They never mentioned to us that they were closing early while we were there. They were unprofessional and had no respect for other people's time and efforts. If I had to choose them over anyone else, I wouldn't. I'm not sure if he's going back, but I really hope not. the sylvania place is nice and peaceful, but seems like the last two root canals i had done i was sent home with tooth pain and the dr didnt seem to care, and later i am in serious pain and know my right side of my face is swollen so bad , the receptionist is really nice as well as the dr?. it is different then the older practice when i was younger thats for sure they took there time then , its not like a factory like the talmadge location read more

They replaced a 3 surface silver-mercury amalgam filling with the new porcelain type filling. It was suspect to me that this filling required replacing as the hygenist recommended multiple fillings be replaced after my teeth cleaning, but the dentist only elected to replace one ( the most expensive ). They did not properly adjust the filling height causing extreme pain to emerge in the tooth. They claimed it was a periodontal issue and that I may need a root canal. They prescribed a strong mouthwash to help which only further inflamed the tooth and the pain. Went to a periodontist and was told immediately it was not a periodontal issue. I could not return to the office on Friday to deal with this because they were closed on Fridays. Went to get a root canal and the dentist saw they had not adjusted the filling right and fixed it. The Dental assistant/hygienist were unprofessional and rude (burping as walking through the hall ways) asking me what my appointment was for (they didn't know). I was asked for a referral that no one told me I had to bring. Had to get rescheduled for the procedure (another 3 months out) also was lied to about the "oral surgeon".
