I was recently laid off and will be transitioning into new insurance. I wanted to have everything taken care of while my deductible was met. The staff got me scheduled for ALL my dental work in one day! There is no way I could have had 4 filings replaced and a tooth extraction AND a root tip removal in one day anywhere else. My 10AM appointment to have two fillings replaced went exactly as scheduled- while checking out the office staff informed me of a 3pm last minute cancellation. They had me come back that afternoon for two more filling replacements. I jokingly told Dr Smith why not just pull the tooth and root tip too? And he did! I wanted to get it all out of the way as soon as possible. He made sure I was comfortable the entire time. His hygienists in the afternoon switched around my bite block and modified some things to maximize my comfort. No one loves seeing the dentist, but it's about as painless as possible with the great the great team at Frankel Dentistry! I had a consult between appointments regarding dental implants and both of the ladies who helped me were great. They gave me so much information and even got me a referral for Invisalign. I might have a little pain today, but I've definitely got a lot to smile about.

When she came to do my exam, she acted like she could not be bothered to explain my care plan or my needs to me. And she got frustrated when I was confused and asked questions. When I got frustrated in response to her, her tone and approach got increasingly ruder. As a dental provider, I would expect her to display at least SOME level of kind bedside manner. This was just the opposite. She didn't want to have to explain anything or answer questions, and she acted like me asking questions was bothering her. Also, the day prior to my appointment, I received a phone call saying that I "had to call back to confirm my appointment" same day or it would be cancelled. I received texts notifying me of my appointment but NONE of those texts said to affirmatively "Confirm" my appointment or respond in anyway. They were just informational messages. I never received a text or any message saying that I needed to affirmatively confirm. So when I got the phone call and called them back, the receptionist explained that they had a "new policy" where you "must" confirm your appointment by the day prior or it will be cancelled. I received no notification of this policy. I explained that the text messages I received never sought or asked for affirmative confirmation either. I was again met with frustration and apathy. There were also comments made about how they would not recommend replacing a crown if it was done within 2 years because then "insurance wouldn't pay for it." But if it was more than 2 years ago, they would recommend getting a new crown. Whether I actually needed a new one didn't matter. That tells me their care decisions are driven by money. Frankly, the entire business model feels like a money grab and like they do not care about CARING for their patients.

They also offer a variety of flavors for your cleaning - orange, strawberry, vanilla, and mint. I've never had a choice before - definitely recommend the vanilla. I self paid $75 for years for a simple scrape and buff NO problems. At first visit,they said my teeth were worn but they could not do anything, NP.They took initial x-rays for new patients, normal but continued this for some unknown reason .then they started measuring my teeth too! anything to boost the bill?? so last visit I notice a new addition started and guess what?? NOW they can do a repair. They put me in a room for an estimate and handed me a $225 bill for the cleaning saying I had no ins. Why not tell me before like they did the first time??? Being out of work for 2 years suffering 6 heart episodes,dying once, getting a pacemaker, both shoulders getting replaced, an 18 yr old hernia finally fixed and fighting off diabetes, I AM BROKE. They give me a $2500 est. for more un-needed un-asked for expensive work! I had to put the $225 on a credit card and I eft feeling raped! a few days later I get a bill for another $180 for those X-rays I never wanted. so I asked that they remove that portion due to financial distress but was told I HAD to pay $20 monthy bill OR get turned over to a collection agency! I never the less cancelled my next appointment with this dentist and am in search of one that is in my PPO.
