Looks good but these people don't know what they're doing! Came in for an infection in my tooth, they did X-rays, should've know they weren't smart because the lady that gave me the X-ray didn't know how to put the "X-ray piece" in my mouth. She kept hurting me, like pressing the thing against my tongue. She finally just used her fingers to hold the piece in place. Then after the doctor told me I had "new" cavities, and it wasn't from the root canal I just got from them, I asked the doctor about antibiotics and something for pain, he looked me in my eyes and told me he'd give me something for the pain, which can be excruciating. Fast forward to two days later, I'm at work and my tooth is on 10. I call the next morning @ 7:30 the tell me the doctor will call me back. 12 noon comes, I call them, they have no recollection of me calling, then they put me on hold for 10 minutes then drop me. I call back, they give me some BS excuse saying that they computers went down. Then after an 8 minute wait, then come back and tell me to alternate btw ibuprofen & Tylenol! I'm like "the doctor looked me dead in my eyes and told me, emphatically that they would give me something for pain!" She said the doctor said I should contact my PCP for that. Then why did you tell me you would handle that? I couldn't been called my PCP if that's the case. She wasn't even gone to say anything about the antibiotics I had to tell her I needed that too! Very unprofessional and Will tell everyone I know NOT to go here! Looks nice but they're very unprofessional and really only care about your insurance. They kept saying the 1st time I was there, "you got that good insurance!" I work for Chrysler and definitely will relay the message that this place sucks!!!! read more

In June I went in to have a filling fixed that had fallen out because I had trouble eating (food was getting stuck in it but i was NOT in pain). They took a look and sent me home with an appointment for a "complete check up". So I go back a month later and they say I need 3 crowns. I get sent home again with an appointment to do a crown on a tooth they say needs it the most (opposite from the tooth with the missing filling by the way). A month later (it's August at this point) I go in for a crown, mind you I am 36 and have had ZERO tooth pain my entire life, I just wanted my missing filling fixed. They put my crown on and sent me home. As soon as the numbness went away the pain was horrible on that entire side of my mouth. At this point I can't chew on either side, one side with the new painful crown and the other with a giant hole from the missing filling. I go back a week later because the pain is unbearable and they adjust my bite hoping that will fix it but It doesn't. So here I am in September, 4 months later, $700 in the hole, living off of ibuprofen and aspirin, unable to eat or sleep because of the excruciating tooth pain on one side and STILL a missing filling on the other. The staff is amazing but I now have more problems with my teeth than I did before and my quality of life is plummeting because of it. I'm going back again this week in hopes of a solution but I wish I never went in the first place. Now I fear that removing the tooth is the only way to fix it which is depressing because I just wanted a filling fixed and now I might lose a tooth?!... Fingers crossed they can redeem themselves because the staff really is amazing, but I was terrified of the Dentist before this and I don't think I will ever go to a Dentist again after this. read more

Being generous with a one star. They merged with Dr. Vasko in Oregon. Loved Dr. Vasko and his staff and was there for over 10 years. Now I won't go back. Staff treat you terribly, hygienists are too rough even when you tell them to stop and say you have sensitive teeth. Worst experience and I refused to book another appointment. I go for my Dentist visits early, so I can get on with my day. At my old dentists it was a choore. They were slow starting, and not always in great moods. At Dr. Frankel's office it is a well oiled machine. Everyone is happy to be there. I rarely wiat, and the employees are fantastic. I actually feel like I'm at a spa, not a Dr. Office. Dr Al Janabi decided to surprise my partner of 5 years with a new needle in the mouth instead of the usual topical numbing only this morning. My partner battles with PTSD, from medical trauma nonetheless, and his unwarranted use of a needle almost immediately sent her into a panic, and she was left to stand up for herself after he tried to insist she stay and let him do what he wanted to do. Completely inappropriate, scary almost. His assistant was left shocked as well, apparently she was not expecting him to come up from behind her with no warning, grab her lip, and inject the syringe in to her mouth either. He quickly said sorry before leaving the room, and urging the assistant to do the same. She instead chose to comfort my partner and walk her out to her car and make sure she was okay. We are concerned for our future in dental care. read more

I had an appointment for a free consultation for dental implants and all I can say is he is definitely in it for the money. They said they couldn't give me a price break down for the bridge dental implant because it would cost more than what I am being charged????? N then they tell me they just offer a full price for this regardless of the things you may not need to get charged for and to top it off when quoted to do work besides implants they tell me my insurance has a missing teeth clause and that they won't cover things with missing teeth smh however my insurance does not have this clause and so the things I wanted would be covered so I wouldnt trust his office and I don't trust his office anything to get more money so I guess he fits in with all the other dentist so I am extremely disappointed and upset that they ended up not being trustworthy read more

I can't say enough about this location. I have extreme anxiety about the dentist. Just thinking about it makes me feel sweaty and shaky and weak in the knees. Dr Smith is amazing. He is warm, patient, and kind. Jess did a great job with my deep cleaning. I can't remember the name of the hygienist that works with Dr Smith (Marlene maybe???) I might not remember her name but I certainly remember her great attitude and calming nature. They are two of the most understandings and caring health care professionals I've encountered. Both of them are super supportive of the recovery community. No one likes going to the dentist, but everyone from front the office staff to the billing in the back are awesome at their jobs and take great pride in their work. I'm so thankful for all ofthese guys for getting my dental health back on track. Another 5 star review for Dr Smith and MaryAnn! The entire office is actually excellent. I was recently laid off and will be transitioning into new insurance. I wanted to have everything taken care of while my deductible was met. The staff got me scheduled for ALL my dental work in one day! There is no way I could have had 4 filings replaced and a tooth extraction AND a root tip removal in one day anywhere else. My 10AM appointment to have two fillings replaced went exactly as scheduled- while checking out the office staff informed me of a 3pm last minute cancellation. They had me come back that afternoon for two more filling replacements. I jokingly told Dr Smith why not just pull the tooth and root tip too? And he did! I wanted to get it all out of the way as soon as possible. He made sure I was comfortable the entire time. His hygienists in the afternoon switched around my bite block and modified some things to maximize my comfort. No one loves seeing the dentist, but it's about as painless as possible with the great the great team at Frankel Dentistry! I had a consult between appointments regarding dental implants and both of the ladies who helped me were great. They gave me so much information and even got me a referral for Invisalign. I might have a little pain today, but I've definitely got a lot to smile about. read more

Please pay attention of what they charge you. Look at your insurance and call them before you sit on their chair. I was almost double charged for all my visits. Was charged $370 with a good insurance which is 30 % of what I should pay, any after calling my insurance I find out that I just have to pay them $200 and then when I called their office the lady told me that insurance only pay for silver filling and they had to charge me more because of that. I called my insurance again and they said no that I need refund from them as this is for the composite filling which is cheap kind of filling almost same price as silver and its on my insurance claims. They told me that I need deep cleaning which they did and I had to pay $320 but my insurance told me that my responsibility is only $140 and then again when I asked the lady she said my insurance didn't cover it and I had to pay more which is a lie and she end up hanging up the phone on me. Every time I go their they ask about $$$ only had to pay like I have no insurance for cheap material. The dentist who did my filling didn't even talk to me at all just drill and fill cheap composite and my teeth still hurt since then. I will never go back to this place again. This is my actual experience. I think they should tell you about how much they are going to charge before the service done and explain to you what insurance covers and what they don't just like any other dentist office. FYI my insurance covered everything and its in my statement and claims but Frnkel office let me pay almost $600 more for a cheap filling. Its not hard you can look up the national average for any service online, like composite filling without insurance cost between $100-$200 per tooth pay attention this is without insurance I had to pay $370 with good insurance for three teeth that they still hurt. Deep cleaning cost about $1400 at their office, national average is $300 without insurance. read more

I gave the practice a one star because their ads did provide me with a laugh when they talk about what a wonderful place Frankel is for dental work. My friend went there before Thanksgiving for dentures. He had all his teeth pulled and went multiple times for measurements for dentures. He was told he would have his new teeth before Christmas. Christmas came and went without teeth. In January he was presented with a set of teeth that didn't even begin to fit. Another set of measurements followed. Now almost six months later he has no teeth, dentures that are so ill fitting they cut into his mouth and cause him to bleed. I am stuck cooking mushy foods because he can't use the teeth he paid lots of money for. read more

Showed up, but they only gave me a high-pressure pitch for a "care plan." Wouldn't fix the crown until I had committed to the care plan. Left me in pain for a week for nothing. We paid up are bills and now they say we owe $150.00 if we don't pay it we can't get are teeth clean we were payed up. I had a problem with billing about 8 months ago. They lured me in promising free teeth whitening, I still have not received it 2 years later. They say you need to have all the treatments that you need finished first but the treatment they want you to have done is not needed. They want to re-do fillings simply because they were done with amalgam. Then I requested ONE notification of upcoming appointments but they are incapable of doing that. I had them call and call and call! I had to decline the calls because I was at work and I am not allowed personal calls. They charge a $71 missed appointment fee so I am not sure why they are practically begging patients to come to their office. I will find a dentist that is not so high pressure about getting clients in to do work that is not even necessary. read more

This was the Worst Dentist experience I have ever had!! It was painful and the dentist that came in to give me more Novocaine just jammed that needle so hard in the roof of my mouth that is was disgustingly unreal and I could tell he didn't even care and told the hygienist to just do the top right and that's it...non apologetic!! I was there to get a deep cleaning ont the right side top and bottom and had told them prior I did need extra Novocaine because it does take a lot to get it to numb. The hygienist before injecting did put some numbing gel on the spots she was going to inject to try to help with the pain but started cleaning to soon because I still had areas that were not numb. That is when she told the dentist and had him come in. You can tell he didn't want to be looking or much less dealing with me. He already knew the issue and didn't care and just jammed it in without even numbing the area!! I pray no one else has to go through this pain and feel degraded and all of that to only get the top right side done. Then the next evening appointment they could schedule is for April of next year. I'm a very positive person and rarely put out negative reviews but I had to speak on this and how it made me feel. read more

I went to Dr Frankel's after seeing advertisements, but I was so disappointed. When I first arrived everything seemed good, but then the dentist appeared, gave me an examination and told me none of my teeth were loose. I did'nt think they were! I went because I was having a lot of aching around my front teeth. He suggested getting the x rays from my previous dentist to look at, and then disappeared. I was then left at the reception desk to book another appointment, where I stood for the next ten minutes till someone decided to take notice of me. There is a reason why Dr. Frankel is named the best of Toledo year after year. His knowledge and staff are above and beyond any other dentist I have ever visited. I am originally not from the Toledo area, and had yet to find a new dentist. Then the unexpected happened, I had a horrible tooth ache. I called Dr. Frankel's office and his staff was able to get me in that day. Unfortunately, I needed a root canal. Although I was dreading it, the whole procedure was pain free and much more comfortable than I had ever imagined. Better yet, with his new technology, I was able to get a crown that same day, therefore, I didn't need a temporary cap or to go back to the office, which was great. But what "sealed the deal" for me was that Dr. Frankel gave me his personal cell phone number, which is on his business card, and told me to call him if there was any problem with my tooth. It was nice to know that he cared. I have truly found a new dentist in my new home town, and it feels great! read more
