It sits on a mountain top overlooking Upper Waterton Lake. The lobby and outdoor seating, that overlook the lake are open to the public. There was a boy about 12 years old who was playing the piano in the upstairs lobby which was a treat, he was very talented. There was parking at the top of hill with a short stroll down to the lodge. Of course there was a gift shop and bathrooms avaliable to the public. Lovely space worth seeing.

I also got to sample Wife's Tomahawk Pork Chop, and all I can say is that I never knew it was possible to make a pork chop taste that good! It was incredible! I heard the lodges fill up fast and are very expensive however. This historic hotel is quite incredible from the architecture to the settling right on the lake. It might be expensive but the time savings on being able to start hikes right from the hotel may be worth it. For people like us who did not stay overnight you can enjoy the hotel common areas and restaurants. However unfortunately no WiFi unless you are guests. And they need to install benches outside where you wait for the shuttle.

We stayed in Granite park chalet in the past and found the walls to be to thin for actual privacy and the noise made it hard to sleep. Sperry is the exact opposite. They added insulation and the noise was minimal except for the goats running through the night on the deck. The beds were firm but comfy. They bedding was nice and during Covid they did everything to keep it clean and to have people wear masks. Let's move onto the food. Josh the cook did such an awesome job. Full cooked breakfast, bad lunch with great sandwiches and gourmet dinners. We had prime rib one night and chicken the next night. We loved the experience. So fun to hike from the chalet and come back to rest. Highly recommend it!

Not enough pillows - only 3! - for the king bed however. Shower adequate although not strong. With fridge and microwave. Furniture is quite nice, not what you normally expect to see in a motel. Our room is in the main building on the second floor (no elevators) with an amazing mountain view. Location is convenient, walking distance to several restaurants. We got here early but the room was ready so we were able to check in which is a real plus. Room not cheap but as park lodges go it's comparable. Lighting is good in the room, lots of lamps and all bright. There are chairs to sit on the balcony and picnic tables on the grounds.

So many people on Trip Advisor has horrible things to say about this place. However, there is…read morenothing wrong with it. You are in a National Park. Here are your options. Camp, the tent camping was closed due to a grizzly bear coming into camp. Drive at least 50 minutes each way into the park. Or stay at the Swift Current Motor Inn and be in the park and right at several amazing trail heads. The room is small, but the bed is decent. Their is no AC, just open the window. People complain about the noise from neighbors, but you should be so exhausted from hiking nothing will wake you from your sleep. There at Swift Current Motor Inn there are options for rooms. We ultimately stayed at Pine Top. Cabins are available, a little larger, but no private bathroom. There is food options at Nell's. It works, but I never wanted to go back, but had to go back. There is also the market right there selling cold and bagged food. What did I learn today? I loved this place. I would go back in a heart beat. Don't hesitate to book a room here. Just do it way in advance.
